In shorter 100 laps the can run vegetable oil and not much you can run 5 wt gear oil and every bearing has less than a dap of Vaseline. So they look like a 500 car they just run faster and grenade bigger.

nonpoints is trophy or steering wheel.

Yes he will be at Trenton. And I guess you know they moved it to Batawa couple years ago. I will go to Bowmanville in morning and if weather is good Batawa at noon. Will likely miss my Bellville buddy's as they will do opposite.

Bowmanville and Trenton are March 13

Ganaraska River Atlantic Salmon initiative MEETING
Garnet replied to chessy's topic in General Discussion
That's my point the club put heart sole and dollars. What did the MNR do. Real stuff roll up your sleeves make a decision and do something. I want to hear about specifics. -
I go to Oshawa Spring and get a piece of spring steel about 6-8 inch long not to wide. Have a shop weld it together. Cuts really well just don't pry with it.
-
Great amount of success. Lawson and I help the Credit guys and Metro East to get started likely 25 years ago. Sure makes me happy that people keep stepping up. What I would like to know is how many MNR dollars will be spent on the Ganny directly. It could take MNR bio 20 years to make a decision on any project. The easies way to keep there job is quote Crossmans book for every question and never never make a decision. I would like to know about bank stabilization, narrowing river bed to flush silt, spawning channels that MNR agreed to and put money into.

like I said they are stupid from cradle to grave. Most likely don't make it out of the creeks. They spend all there time chewing on shopping carts and hub caps. If they get to the lake where the biggest charter boat fishery is trolling flashy whirly things they all get caught as shakers. It's been 30 years put this dog to bed. Lake Ontario is more Ocean than lake mange it.

Rolly did all my repairs when he lived 5 blocks away. Think I will do a little demo for my bass club.
-
I'm referring to east coast Atlantic salmon. You would be breaking the law with flash on your fly.
-
Yes I'm asking for specific projects. When they where done, how they done, who paid for them. Real dollars spent on the river for improvement.
-
Atlantic are a heritage species. They run the rivers spawn and return to the lake till next year. Think it's up to 3 spawns. Chinnooks return ounce and die. Atlantics are as dumb as a post. They will hit any thing flashy and bright. That's why flash on your fly's is illegal. And that's why fly fishing only. Again I ask name the river and explain the project and supply the proof that tree plant reduce river temps or reduced silt.

You need the right thread. Sewing machine stuff is to furry. If you have a colour in father laws stuff. I'd do it my self. On the guide foot cut first thread with enactor knife then just unravel wrap. Guys like rolly have neat fixture, not necessary. Cut 1/8 strips from masking tape. Tape foot in position on your rod blank. 4lb test mono/flouo. For your tensioning device I used phone book. Put your thread between 2 pieces of computer paper in the phone book. Further down more weight, if you have to add magazines on top. Nice tension without straining. Put thread in a bowl. Make a loop of 4lb on bottom of blank. Now start your thread by wrapping second turn over first. And make few turns. Put tag end thread thru the loop and make about a doz turns. Remember you can put your finger on wraps to stop process. Slid the loop and tag end, trapping in under the wraps. Now continue wrapping up to foot. Little hard to get on foot and the 10 wraps from guide lay your looped 4lb on the foot. There's a little in turn from foot to guide get wraps in their. Now tag end in loop slid it under wraps. Cut tag ends nice and clean. It's important to not glue guide to blank. Your kit might have 2 part clear epoxy, clear nail polish will work (not well). I've used Amoral clear varnish. Make minor guide position adjustments and light clear coats until happy. It sounds like a lot but every time is easier.

In all the other rivers what direct river rehab where completed. The original bio guy sat in a trailer down at the Wilmot until retirement. Except the time he got caught making woopi with one of the techs. Nothing was done. So give us a list name the river the location and what was done.

To do well on Quinte you need to stay mobile. Just be every carful with ice conditions. Doesn't matter how cold it is. The best areas have current and need respect. If you can buddy up do it. Thiers both resident walleyes and lake walleyes.
-
I jig with both hands on Quinte. Set lines have never worked for me. The last time in these hut we had a strong daylight bite on bottom and then messed with dinky perch until about 2;30 when a school of fish 5 feet down went threw. It was crazy for about 20 minutes.

I think it was 6am. He lives on that shoreline. Maybe 200ft to ice and short walk. He takes you by skido. I sent my stuff out and walked. Just get bones lose walk.

Dave Chatterton Fish Finder Charters. He is full time walleye salmon and ice huts. Straight across from Trenton. The huts are in that trench between shoal and Island. Nice huts.

Dave Chatterson runs huts out of Carrying Place. Super important to get first light bite and last light. Good early year spot.
