GCD is right. I think my boat is 600lb people. With 1000lb total carry cap. This is what it will do safely. If your boat is a deep boat it is same as mine. "The US and Canadian safety ratings that are stamped onto the boat say 600lbs" They should be clear about it. Maybe post a picture of your tag thats on your boat. If it sinks its overloaded.

Side wind can make driving a pain. Other than that go for it. I will pull my fishing boat and sleep on the ground before i will pull a trailer and fish from shore.

Fish are there all you have to do is catch them. The river runs right though the park so lots of places to fish. Good luck and post a report.

There are a few LM bass and rainbow in the pond. It is better for swimming or renting a canoe.

I dont have a problem with you rounding off 39lbs to 40lbs. Where is the pic?
