I was supposed to go fishing today but i didn't go because i knew the lake would be busy. So i guess it really is bad if it makes me stay home. I had a $20 tourney fee prepaid too. Now that sucks.

Does anyone have any thoughts on christie lake? Should i take my rod? Thanks for any help.

The best thing to do would be to buy one used and spend little money that way if it sucks you can sell it without losing a lot of $. I had a car topper. It was 100lbs and very tippy. But i dont like canoes either.

I am not sure what they are called but you drill a hole and then put a nut with arms on it into the hole and the arms open up. then you screw the bolts down tight. I would bolt seats in because it could be real bad if the seat rips out.

Can you put a small 12'er on top of your car with roof racks? The problem i have with the small boats is that you cant stand up and fish.

For $100.00 i would have taken 5 or 6 stings and done it myself.

Launch out of collingwood harbor would be good. I hope it is not too windy. go north from harbor for about a mile then head east about two miles. Anywhere around there should be some fish. 50' down in 80' to 140' of water.

Wait until it is cool less than 10 deg. then all the bees will be in the nest and not moving. go in there and spray them or put the nest in a bag.

That area gets fished for rainbows and salmon more than anything else. Find a spot on shore close to deep water and start casting.

I cant get over the freak show on lake eugenia on sunday. It has nothing to do with fishermen or skiers or jetskiers. All boaters have to have some brain cells. I guess these people will sleep well when they are 100% the reason that someone gets killed. Yes they are insane.

I have on manual and one power downrigger and the manual bangs way more fish. I dont know about the positive ion control or if it would make a difference. I never had a rigger with positive ion control does it work off of the battery? Maybe unhook the battery and see what happens.

Went to lake eugenia for a few hours today. The boat launch was packed. When i looked out on the water i was not sure if i would launch or not. There were a ton of boats of all kinds with the throttle pinned. They are going to have to put some laws on this lake. It is way too small for the size and speed of the boats. The fishing sucked. I caught some small ones but nothing worth taking a picture of. Is there carp in this lake??? i think i saw one. The water was real warm and the weeds are brown. I couldn't find any bass around these weeds. The ramp was funny on the way in cause i was by myself and people like to cut in out of turn. It was still nice to get on the water.

Brian i have tried everything. Tomcat i want to join the main line to a fluoro leader. I tried the double uni already. I will try it again. Maybe the 6lb fluoro is weak or something. I got six hours of trying in so far but i am running out of beer so i may have to give up till tomorrow. What a pain. I have never had any trouble with 6lb mono. It is like it is cutting into itself. Stupid line.

It is braking right at the knot. I have one leader tied now with the braid knot. I think it is a waste of time with 6lb.

I tried the polymer knot and it failed. I will try the surgeon. Thanks.

I am trying to use some 6lb seaguar fluoro leaders but i cant find a knot that will hold. i have tried many. Any thoughts on a good knot or anything i can try. I tried to use a swivel between the main line and the fluoro but that knot broke too. I was thinking maybe i should try 10lb fluoro but would 10lb fluoro be more invisible than 6lb mono??? I see no use for the 6lb fluoro the way this is going. I need a beer. Thanks for any help.

Great report Doug. They should be telling you all the costs upfront. That makes me sick.
