I called there a few weeks ago to get the 209M left hand line counter and they said they didn't have them yet. I will get one on my next order. I am thinking about using it for trolling for muskie. Is that the exact one (209M left hand line counter) you ordered Wayne?

Nice looking fish. There was a show on fishing taimen a few days ago. The guy got one nice one. Heck of a trip for one fish though.

My boat has a small deck at the top of the bow and you can stand on it but it is tippy. My boat is a lot heavier than yours though and i don't think yours would be any good. There is not enough weight in the bottom of your boat. If your boat was about 500lbs it would work. Same height as the seat frame gets my vote.

"Maybe I should just stick with a long track sled" One thing to remember is that last year the slush was real bad on Simcoe. I don't know if you had the slush that up north. But every year may be different. I hope we don't get the slush this year. A long track with some power would get on top of soft stuff. Also my buddy says that the new Argos have more ground clearance and bigger tires.

But they just had a good game against Ottawa. Guess that was it for the season.

SlowPoke i am looking at the Penn 209M left hand for trolling. Then the Cardiff would be for casting. I think Penn is coming out with a new Penn 209M line counter this year. I guess i would get the line counter.

Well i am over my fishing budget for a while so i have to cheap out a bit and this is the only left hand reel i can find. It's rated for 245 yards of 14# line so i thought it might be strong enough. I could go to an ABU C-4 6500 but it is not any better i bet. Too bad the Pete Maina reel is not left hand. I hope its ok for one muskie anyway. Or maybe i can find a used one or one on sale. I have a bit of time now to make up my mind anyway. I also have to keep in mind that my little boy is 3.5 years old and he likes to throw things overboard. Thanks for any ideas.

I got the pro line thanks Dan. I did some tests on it and it is good. I hope to use the 6lb on some brook trout. I didn't see that address i will look. I just don't know if i like this reel.

I just got some muskie stuff from Cabela's. A few big donkey lures, 65# braid and a bunch of other stuff. But the reel is not what i wanted (it's broken). The stupid plastic push bar is broke right out of the box. When it was put in the box it must have been slammed home like a Joe Carter home run. The outside of the box looks mint. I hate the clicker on/off button it is hard to use. I am not too sure about the push bar either. I don't want to carry ten spares for a days fishing. So i ask you should i get a different brand or get Cabela's to fix it or take it to the repair shop? If i ship it back to Cabela's i think i am on the hook for the shipping.

I got a new Honda outboard and its perfect. I got alot of other good stuff and i am still waiting for some muskie stuff from cabela's.

I have not looked. How bad is it? Terry should i look?

In 1988 there was a lot more forage in Georgian bay. There is not a world record fish in Georgian Bay right now. (Wayne. That CO don't know diddle.) I think we need to pick a location based on food supply not the size of the water body. Where is the best muskie food :unsure: ? That is the question. Who has the answer?

I am going to be busy for the rest of today i have to take all of my muskie pics down off the wall. I guess i will do all of the other fish too just to be safe.
