  1. I liked that section I'm going to setup my reel that way tonight. Great show JP do you guys plan to have more fishing on the show this year? Or perhaps a cameo on Dave's show?
  2. I'm seeing these APS branded outboards popping up here and there - some claiming that they are a china made Yamaha clone & parts will work on either one. Does anyone have one of these or heard good/bad on them? Just curious
  3. I think they start moving in shallow and towards rivers and creeks? I too am in the same boat and need to track them down. When do they start really slowing down?
  4. I did that with my floater suit and waders....probably going to do the same here. I'll see what Angling Outfitters has and go from there.
  5. Isn't there a helmet place just over the 401 towards St. Thomas where the Busybee tools place is? Thought there was a unclaimed stock store.
  6. Is BPS the only ones who carry them or are there local retailers as well?
  7. I tried seaguar invisx as mainline last year and I lost my casting distance and lots of tangles as mentioned above. This year I've been using braid tied to floro as my setup. I'm getting tired of tying uniknots etc so I'm probably going to try some fireline crystal as my mainline and not use a leader. I'm probably wasting my time with floro in the dirty waters I fish around here anyhow.
  8. Hoping to find one in Canada - I too have the orange beacon suit for the cold weather boating but she gets hot fast when its not to bad!
  9. I was wondering what you guys like for rainsuits. Already have waders but would like a rainsuit for the boat that can handle the wind. Not sure if I can justify the 100mph suits at BPS, but wanted to know what you guys like. It has to be breathable though no yellow suits for me
  10. See if you have a silverado truck club in the area. If you are members of some clubs you get really good discounts at the dealerships.
  11. I have a citica it works great for me. I haven't played with the brake or anything and its really tough to backlash.
  12. My citica has worked great so far no issues here!
  13. That's not enough if you ask me....some people may take that risk at that price unfortunately
  14. I've seen people fishing wacky rigged senkos in May before...on a well known bass lake...that got a call to the MNR. There is a local dam that is now policed often because of multiple calls to the MNR from various folks and repeated poaching...Trout & Salmon aren't really the target species there either. If you don't feel comfortable confronting them take some non-suspicious pictures at least...might come in handy. Whether or not you think the MNR will do anything or not, it should at least be reported....with a person description, vehicle, and license plate. You could call the local police I believe they can also press charges?. Even if it just gets them a visit or phone call....awareness does go a long way with some people. Some will never learn unfortunately but worth a shot.
  15. Yes its available individually like $3/month. Channel 426
  16. Hi all...I have a Lowrance 522 right now to me it's just a glorified depthfinder I want to learn how to find walleye, structure, etc. Are there some good videos or articles on how to decrypt what to look for on the electronics? Feel free to PM me if you prefer.
  17. I'm glad there's more WFN stuff on there now. If you subscribe to WFN I think the fishing stuff is free though...at least I hope so else I'm in trouble!
  18. Brownspoint marine sells a Suzuki 9.9 cover for $327US and they are quite reasonable with Suzuki parts FWIW
  19. CTEK makes a charger that has a 7A supply mode designed to do this.
  20. I hear ya...I love my Lowrance but I fish pretty much in 20ft or less...which means I'm only seeing at most a 6ft circle of fish on the bottom.
  21. Haven't ordered yet but I called them because 2 items (light and base) were to ship from 2 different locations....so it was $25 shipping per item The person on the phone discovered one was out of stock in the other warehouse, and told me when it would be back in stock so they could both ship from same spot thus cutting shipping in half
  22. I use a Lowrance 522 and often where I fish I'm in 5-10ft of water. Just curious - how many of you turn off the sonar when you fish shallow water? What depth do you turn it off?
  23. I'd get at least a 70lb Minnkota powerdrive or Terrova with the co-pilot remote. Terrova would be my choice if I had my pick its way easier to deploy and a much better pedal.
  24. Try and get the red Alpha suit though you can order it if they don't stock it....I find the Orange a bit too bright unless you need a Heli-rescue
  25. The Helly Hansen Alpha is what I wear and it's great. Much better and comfortable than the delta. It can be found for around $280 if you shop around http://www.helly.ca/EN/products/124-product.cfm
