I think around 40A. Already have the fuse covered but I'll see what I can track down for a new quick-connect.

I have a 24v trolling motor that I run 2ga wire from the back of the boat to the front. From there it goes into a 10ga quickconnect and back into the motors original 6ga wiring. I realize that going from 2 to 10ga probably isn't the best setup solder wise, but considering the 10ga run is like 8inches on + and - is this considered a bottleneck? Because the distance is so short? Just wondering if I should be scrapping this and going to a plug setup or larger quick connect. Thanks in advance.

Can't wait till the new reviews come out, here's a summary of a popular one: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q209waterp...roup/page17.asp

I went out with Bob last April and had a great time. Highly recommend giving him a shout if you're interested in a trip down there! Also anyone familiar with the Jigman down there? He makes amazing jigs!

If the fish are in waters with blue-green algae this could also be residue off of the lake.

A buddy and I are looking for a boat that will be easy to car-top and carry into ponds. I'm thinking about a jon boat, but they really are a bit too heavy to car-top,; more suited for the back of a truck etc IMO. We're also not keen on a regular canoe; so we're trying to consider options that will be easy to carry and be stable enough for 2 big guys and be able to fish. What do you guys use when hitting the small rivers and ponds?

There are only 2 things that are stopping me from buying the D10: 1. Not compact 2. Only does VGA video Other than that its the best one out there. I'm probably going to wait a month as the new models are slowly coming out. The 6020 looks decent though by the specs!

Had no clue there are Northern's in some of those lakes...wow. Nothing wrong with pike for a meal though once you learn how to clean them.

fishburn has a good point - whatever batteries you go with, they are only as good as your charger.

I'd recommend a St. Croix Avid or Legend Tournament series rod. If you are really not concerned with price check out the Loomis IMX or GLX series. I want to see what Fenwick's top end rods feel like never seen them before. Couple it with a Shimano Stradic MGFB reel if you can find one on closeout - very light and smooth reel! Jocelyn at Angling Outfitters has some left I believe. Also - Spend the big money on a quality rod and go cheaper on the reel if necessary.

I run two Optima Bluetops & they are great! They are light and compact as well. Very good warranty as well. Costco seems to be the best place for pricing.

6'6 Medium Light - Fast action here for now. Overwhelmingly it seems the preferred setup is a..... Spinning Reel with a Medium strength rod, fast action. I honestly thought it'd be a 6'3 Thanks for the responses everyone!
-
Thanks for letting me know. I went with a fast action over the xfast, so I was wondering if I made the right decision.
-
Thank you for the responses. How do you guys find the xfast action compared to fast action for jigging. I'm wondering what the benefits would be of each?

Hi All, I'm just curious to what folks use as their Jigging setup for Walleye. I've been toying of the idea of using a baitcasting setup this year for jigging, not sure if it'd give me more sensitivity/control or not. But I'm interested to see what everyone uses for their typical walleye jigging setup.

Some of these Lowrance stories are making me want to consider other options next time around. However being in SW Ontario and Jos as a local dealer it makes things much easier dealing with Lowrance. I certainly like their products better than HB or Garmin.

Does anyone know if you can use the co-pilot remotes if you have an ipilot? Having the co-pilot remote on the fishing rod is really handy; I could see the ipilot remote cumbersome in some situations but it definitely looks to be a great feature.
-
I want to see what its "Digital Image Stabilization" can do, I agree they really have packed many features into this $200 camera.
-
I think I'm going to hold out for the Panasonic TS2 or the Fuji XP10. TS2 is more money but it is a much more versatile camera. I'm itching to see them but no new models are on shelves yet. Probably another month.
-
I hear you - but I'd bet the big mark-up comes in the reels, tackle, rods and clothing rather than the electronics. This could've been a huge volume purchase from Lowrance to merit the price point.
-
That is ridiculous pricing! Congrats to those who got such a deal.
-
Lots of info on this subject but I'd personally go with an HDS 5 or HDS7. Really like the screen detail & resolution of the units and features have been extremely happy with my older Lowrance so far.

Quality Rain Suit Marine radio if you're on big water (you need an operators license now) Color Fishfinder with GPS Trolling motor with battery saving technology Autopilot or Ipilot I'm sure others will chime in on rods/reels/tackle but those are very handy. Hope I understood the question

I would guess you have a seal leaking somewhere? You should get it looked at that's probably oil going right into the water.

Thanks JP. Looks like deals are happening! Gander Mountain is clearing their guide-series coats/bibs out right now as well. You can order by phone and pickup at any of their US stores: http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/prod...mp;merchID=4006 http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/prod...mp;merchID=4006 Saw these suits on Linders Edge a few shows back they are very nice!
