I think we need some more info here to help.....18 dying that's quite excessive. Any chance of blown fuses or vandalism?
-
Only thing I ever heard or experienced is the GPS sometimes not finding or losing position - its one of Lowrance's best units out there along with the 520.
-
FYI I was talking to a BPS rep today and they noted that their 100mph and "Pro Qualifier" suits are only a 1yr warrranty. Is there any truth to that? I thought they were lifetime no questions asked if they leak. Cabelas confirmed that their guidewear series is lifetime. Not sure on Loomis still trying to confirm.

It closes up on the 15th.....used to be open all year.
-
Not sure what you're after but there's lots of opportunity in the river around London as well. Hopefully we don't get a huge rain though as it'll blow everything out for quite a while.
-
If I don't find my way to BPS in the next few weeks, I might be in Ottawa next month and was wondering if Ottawa might have some fishing stores that may have higher end rainsuits? Or am I stuck with BPS or heading stateside to Cabelas/GanderM? cheers, scugog

Go with the 70lb variable for sure!

One of my concerns is that last year using rainpants I found my back would get cold if the wind would blow up my back. With bibs I see this as a much lesser issue. Good point on the coat!
-
Hi all - I'm struggling to decide whether to get regular rain pants or go with bibs for my spring-fall rain gear. Just wondering what you guys use and why you prefer either.
-
I checked out the Loomis one today and I was very impressed. Unfortunately they don't come with bibs though else I would've probably bought them. Believe this one is around $400 I need to get up to BPS and check out the 100mph suits but again its tough to justify the $500 for a suit but there certainly doesn't seem to be many windproof/breathable options between the togs and the top end.

The CTEK at CT is recomended for batteries 2-90ah. It would handle bigger I'm sure, but just would take longer. http://www.ctek.com/EN-US/Buy-US-Charger.aspx
-
I believe that was on the 1st episode of season 2?
-
I would highly recommend the CTEK Charger from Canadian Tire http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST%2Fbrowse%2F...;bmLocale=fr_CA It's by far the easiest and effective charger I've ever used. Comes with a 5yr warranty! EDIT: have you bought the Endura yet? Consider getting a Minnkota or Motorguide that has better battery usage technology. Might not need such a huge battery in a small boat. It's one of the few chargers that are recommended by Optima. For a battery I'd purchase an Optima, I've really enjoyed mine. If budget is a concern, call Jocelyn at Angling Outfitters he usually has some big deep cycles for a great price. Keep in mind if you get a huge deep cycle, consider getting the larger CTEK model which can be found at some specialty shops.

I just looked it up this thing does 720p video, 5x optical and does zoom while recording video as well. For $200 it's definitely worth considering...assuming the image stabilization is decent. I'll hold off for a bit I think. Between this one and whatever new ones come out shortly it might be worth the wait. Thanks Dave for the camera FYI.

I later verfied this I apologize. I was checking out the D10 today and Dell has them for $299 shipped!!! Panasonic TS1 is nowhere to be found and $100 more so i might just opt for the D10. If I need something compact that does HD video the new Iphone is supposed to have both.

I need to find a decent pair of bib pants....I have a wading jacket so I could use it at the top part but its annoying with just pants its too high
-
Does anyone have any info on this recall?
-
I just discovered the D10 doesn't do audio while recording videos
-
Well I seem to have come across a deal on the D10; only question is the video quality.....would love the HD video capability, anyone tried the video on the D10?
-
Get the 9.9, you won't regret it. Remember a 9.9 is typically a 15hp with a different carb etc.
-
What is the video quality like on the D10? Says it only does VGA but it sure looks like the best all round aside from the bulkyness.
-
That's a very good point about the D10's size. Wearing waders etc it'd be nice to slip in in the chest pocket. This is where the Z33 or Olympus has the advantage. Mostly Digital here in London has the D10 around $325...I'm going to check the Olympus and Canon out today to see if the D10 would be manageable to carry. My guess if I dug around you could find the D10 under $300. I'm not a huge photo buff, just want something that will work, give good photos and I don't mind the additional features. Given I'm still rocking a Canon A510 3.2MP anything will be a huge upgrade The fact that the new cameras have much better video is exciting to me as well. I was at the London show last night and was checking out the new Lowrance HDS units. I'm curious to see what people think of them. They sure look sharp. I've been trying to find some reviews on them and I've seen them as mixed. I noticed to get the side imaging stuff you're looking at an additional $600 or so as well. I have an LMS-522c unit now, so I was also wondering if anyone has made the jump to the HDS. Just dreaming now, but was really impressed by these units!

I would like to cover all my bases with one camera if possible.

Hi all - I was wondering what you guys like for waterproof cameras. I've been looking into the Olympus 550wp/560wp as well as their higher end cameras (Stylus tough series) I've also considered the Fuji Z33 and the Canon powershot D10. What have you guys used? Looking for some insight from folks who are out there in the waders/boats using them
