F150 help needed... Clunk in reverse
Big Cliff replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
Glad you got it figured out! -
Well, we finally have open water in the river and channel down to about the Moorings Marina. Still plenty of ice along the shore line in the main body of the lake. Ice out here is typically about 7-10 days after that so there is a chance that I might be able to get my boat in the water by mid next week. We are easily 4-5 weeks behind the average this year, should make opening for walleye really interesting this year!

Dress for success! Don't go in wearing jeans and running shoes but don't go in wearing a suit either. Spend some time before the interview looking over THEIR store, explore their website, get familiar with THEIR products and policies, see how the rest of the staff are dressed and look like you would fit right in. Be polite, be professional, be prepaired! Be a good listener; god gave you two ears, two eyes and one mouth for a reason, you be amazed at how many people I have seen talk themselves out of a job by talking when they should have been listening. The very best sales people are the ones that listen and pay attention to what the customer is saying, this is where you get to sell yourself, know your product! If you have made it to the interview stage it is because they are already considering you for the position, go get it!

Good question? They all lie to us and not one of them seems to know what it is like to live in the real world! I tried to fight back once and voted for Bob Rae back when he was NDP, we all know how that ended. I believe in getting out there and voting but when all you have to choose from is the best liar....... Things are not going to change until there is accountability and saddly I don't see that happening in my lifetime! So now back to the question; who do you vote for and why?

I have a 60 Merc on my 16' princecraft about the best I can do is 2mph for trolling which might be ok for lake O but sometimes it is a little faster than I want to go for walleye.

If you have a boat it really helps because you can move around and find them.

I have to go over to Orillia on Monday morning, if you haven't gotten an answer by tomorrow night PM me your phone number etc. and I'll drop by there and see what is going on.

What a beautiful looking pup, I'm sure she will bring you a lot of joy (among other things).

Government forgets to send man to prison.
Big Cliff replied to Tayzak15's topic in General Discussion
13 years for robbing someone with a BB gun and no one getting hurt is pretty excessive I think. People drive drunk and kill people and get light or suspended sentenses. As is pointed out in the article, "If the point of incarceration is rehabilitation, the job’s already done"! What is putting this man in prison going to accomplish now other than destroying the man and his family. If he had evaded arrest all this time then I would feel differently but it was an error by the state, not him, he didn't try to hide or anything. Let there be justice in the justice system! -
Sort of in the same boat as Lew, we haven't had any "door to door" people here in many years. They seem to like to hit more populated areas or it could just be that I gave the last ones 30 seconds to get off my property before I called the cops.

I have to tell you, after reading this thread I have decided to go through all my rods and reels (about 15 of them most of which are Shimano) send all the Shimano reels in for cleaning and service. At $20.00 a pop to have a perfectly tuned up reel is just plain a smart move as far as I can tell! Actually I think I might justr drive over there tomorrow with them.

Mine will do that if there is a lightning storm and the power flickers. I'd like to know the solution too!

Numbers are way down here too this year but there are plenty of yotes. I think this winter has really taken it's tole on the turkeys.

When do you expect Simcoe to break up?

Finally saw our first open water on Sturgeon Lake this morning. The river is open in front of Lunge Haven, it ususlly takes about two weeks for the chanel to be open here once we see that. Once the chanel is open it is usually another week before I can get my boat in. Looks like we will be fishing crappie and walleye at the same time this year! -
It was a repeat and we get them in blister packs. Because of Sue's previous heart attacks and surgery she takes quite a few different meds and from time to time there are changes sometimes to the dosages sometimes they switch to a generic (which can have a totally different shape and color). She checked the names and dosage on her pills when she noticed that one of them was different but the description was right so she just figured that they had just switched her to a generic version. Saturday she wasn't feeling well, tired, weak, I checked her blood pressure it was 85/50. Since the heart attacks she has been on medication to keep her blood pressure down but this was quite a bit lower than usual (normal for Sue is about 116/65. I continued to monitor it but it stayed stable and as the day wore on it slowly started to climb slightly and she started feeling better. Sunday morning we got the call from the pharamacy, the pills they had given her were to reduce blood pressure! Who knows how low it might have gone had she continued taking the pills they gave her. Thanks for the link Terry, I will be filing a report today and I will be going in to the pharamacy!

When a pharmacy messes up and gives you the wrong perscription then calls you on a Sunday (4 days after you picked up the perscription) and tells you "DON"T TAKE THOSE PILLS WE GAVE YOU, WE MADE A MISTAKE"! Who do you report it to? We have been hearing a lot of complaints lately about this perticular pharmacy making mistakes but this is the first time it has happened to us. This mistake could have been fatal to Sue and I am madder than heck!

Any thoughts on Canadian Health Care System?

Right! Anytime someone is suffering there needs to be some sort of facility in place to do what ever is necessary to help them. My wife was in ICU for 6 weeks just waiting to get a bed in a cardiac unit so she could get a bypass operation. That was a life and death situation and she almost didn't make it. I had to get on the phone to the Ministry of Health and threaten to go to every media I could find that would listen before anyone would get off their butts and get her a bed. -

When you are sick or your child is sick and call your Dr.s office only to be told that the earliest appointment you can get is in two weeks..... Or you go to the walk in clinic and wait for 4 hours to see a Dr. only to be told to get right over to ER and they will call ahead for you (then you still wait 3 hours in ER) what else are people supposed to do? I do agree that there is some abuse of the system and they do seem to do a very good job of priorityzing but I have also sat in an ER for hours when there was no one else in there so I do question the reason for some of these wait times. -
Nobody stopped to think this might not be a good idea?

I wonder, if it was a member of your family that died trying to feed their kids would you still be laughing? I think there are some very insensitive replies on this thread, it's disapointing! -

Free: no, we pay for it through the nose. Improvements: Well, there are so many needed! It isn't perfect for sure but we are a lot better off than many other countries in this world. I know that sitting in ER for three + hours isn't fun (in fact there have been times I thought it was just being used as a deturent) but we could be living in a country where you don't even have an ER. Is the cup half full or half empty? -
Well, can't offer much advice but welcome to the board!

Anyone else having issues with newer Jiffy augers?
Big Cliff replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
Go Electric! I spent the money and bought a new 20V dewalt this year! Attach it to my auger and that sucker drills holes through 30+" of ice in no time! No Gas to worry about, squeeze the trigger and it starts. I won't go back and I am a small engine mechanic! -
Depends on where you are but clear skys for the lindsay area for tonight so it should be.
