  1. ya 5800 is wayy to high, i've had race sleds in the past and they didnt engage that high, usually around the 5000mark. thats probably the highest you want it to engage. i say find a clutch kit and put it to the recommended settings then do as ecmiley says and change the gear in the chaincase(top gear) you probably have something like a 22 tooth gear in there. i believe you can drop down to a 19 without changing the chain. most 440 snocross sleds run the 19tooth, it'll drop your top end by a bit but off the line you'll be flying! go on dootalk and find out what the best clutch kit is for your sled and the best price. good to hear you want to do clutching and not something dumb like a sweeet ca for it haha!
  2. i'd say bright orange, not quite red
  3. hahaha 3rd time posted atleast!! still a good video though
  4. awesome! ive been waiting for this to come out cause i wanted to see if they were actually gonna lower the limit on lake trout in zone 10 which they did grrrrr! also i would like to know whats going on with bone lake behind robertson lake, it was already at 2 and is only open for a month. will it be down to one fish now?? also it says wolf lake lake trout is closed all year, that isnt the same wolf last the one in the tupper area correct?? anybody have any info on this??
  5. ya i was already talking to glynn. i haven't personally fished it,been up that way though. from what i hear is theres suppose to be really good lake trout fishing and he'll be going up at prime time spring laker fishing for around these parts. i havent heard of to many people going there for the walleye fishing. i'm gonna ask around somebody around will know something.
  6. i picked some up from crappy tire, that bright orange stuff. when i was spooling it on orange pieces were falling off like it was fraying already im a little worried but time will tell. i also bought some power pro ice line and the stuff feels like its alot better quality and for cheaper and you get more. only time will tell i guess.
  7. i wouldnt worry about a steel leader affecting the action, it might a bit but not enough to be noticeable. i have noticed the action of a lure change when i have changed the treble hooks to a different size. taking im off will probably make an affect. usually if they are like an xrap or something they are balanced.
  8. i soooo knew they were gonna pull that crap!! they dont want to play a little town like the sault. im sure the roadies showed up to essar and were like WTH!?!? the stage will probably take up half the floor and the transports and tour buses will take up the parking lot LOL! i dont care to see them and i feel bad for everyone that rushed and bought tickets. i wouldnt want them to come now
  9. i was considering getting into that line of work but then where do you get away from it all!?!? i think it would ruin my fishing/hunting being out there all the time then on my day offs what the heck do i do? like i do carpentry and when i get home at the end of the day or on the weekends the last thing i want to do is work on the house or building project. you'd have to pay me alot more then that to be out there all the time.
  10. i always just use my 6" hand for most of my ice fishing even when the ice is a good 3feet thick. i wanted to step it up to an 8" so i bought a used one on ebay for next to nothing, the shipping was actually more then the auger. The auger comes in and its a 10" hand auger! thats right you heard me! a 10" hand auger! theres no getting cold for me out on the ice, just go drill a hole or 2. once the ice gets past 2feet then i use the 6". i called mora about replacement blades, they told me those augers were made in the early 90s for a short period and didnt even know that any of those augers still even existed haha i wonder why!! 8" is the perfect balance not to big not to small. but since your talking power auger the bigger the better and yes i have stepped in one of those holes before lol
  11. buying a merc was your first mistake
  12. if i was you i'd be out there right now lots of ice for walking out. just check often and go with a buddy and you'll be fine bring back pics! make us jealous!

  15. here in the sault its bit of a blizzard. we got around a foot of snow and its just a blowing out there right now. the radio says the school buses arent going out today. i got the day off with pay might pull out of the sled hahaha!
  16. nice work! those boxes are built tough! lot of over kill! like all you really needed was plywood for lids no need for 2x2s around it and in the box a bit over kill.i also suggest some sort of padding for the powerhead, even some carpet on the wood. they look pretty heavy. you could flip that bike and those boxes will still be perfect haha! also see you did some fun cuts to like the rabbet joints on some parts instead of just butt joints. all in all good work it'll get the job done just fine!!
  17. To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine.. . And those who don't. As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, In beer there is freedom, In water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, At the end of the year we would have absorbed More than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria Found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.. However, We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) Because alcohol has to go through a purification process Of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting. Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health . Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, Than to drink water and be full of crap. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service!
  18. so i picked up my CG jacket today and it is a real one and for only $127!! thank you ebay! the chillwhack is alot lighter then the rest and will be perfect for the sault weather! only thing is its shaped really funny and the hood dont fit my neck/head when full zipped up, you need a 12" long neck to wear it totally zipped, but ooooo well, i usually wear it a bit undone anyways, just gotta wear a balacolava when going on the sled so the cold dont hit my lower neck.
  19. so i seen a chillawhack on ebay with a "buy it now" for $425 then i noticed the guy had bidding on it to and no reserve price. i put a bid on it for $150 and i won it at $127. im sure the guy selling it didnt want to sell it for that cheap and will probably crap in the pockets. its new with tags the guy claims its a real one and by the pics it also looks real. it came in friday and i'm going to pick it up tomorrow. i sure hope its the real deal and for that price you cant beat that. the chillawhack is alot smaller/thinner jacket then the rest and not so extreme. definitely a good investment that will last me for years.
  20. well its kinda good to hear i wasnt the only one those those results doc. i wonder whats up with that!?!?
  21. http://www.icegator.com/index.html i seen these last year and they looked pretty neat. i like how you just use your hand auger bit, kinda pricey to just go out and buy one to try. anyone own or use one? if so how did you like it? and how many holes did you actually get to drill before it died?
  22. or large cranks but work them slowly, let them take a good look at it
  23. this year seemed really screwy compared to other years and i blame it on the messed up cold weather we have been having. i've caught alot less fish but the fish i did catch were of better quality(size) i'd go out bass fishing last year and catch 30bass in a day in the 1-3lb range and this year i'd get only 10 bass and they are all in the 3-5lb range. same goes with pike. lake trout fishing was great and im unsure what they are talking about being poor and having to lower the limit. walleye fishing was good. specks were the same, alot less but better sizes. i havent even gone for salmon or steelies this year. i went hunting instead and that was poor. everything runs in cycles i guess. i wonder what next year will bring. maybe quanity and quality??
  24. nice! i'll join haha! i seen the article in the paper today! i wished they took pics of the actual camp.
