Generally this is true but with pike you need the abrasion resistance of the heavy flouro carbon.
You can also use steel leaders if you're so inclined.
Personally I use steel or 40# flouro depending on what I am going to be using as a bait.
My standard braid is 30# with 40#-60# leaders wire or flouro.
When bottom bouncing for walleyes the lighter leader system really comes into play as you are much more likely to get hung up and the fishes teeth are no where near as sharp as pikes are. Same deal goes when I'm fishing for steelhead I want a lighter leader than my mainline so I don't lose my whole rig each time I get snagged.
I would look for back bays and side channels with shallow 2'-6' early in the season.
They should just be finished spawning now and will be recovering and trying to warm up in the shallows.
And another ice fishing trip planned for tomorrow.
Got to load the sled on the trailer now that the roads are pretty much ice free.Hope to have the boat out for some spring cleaning and work in a couple of weeks.
Be a few more before I get it wet though.
Mine's an SPS Camo 870. :good:
I have other shot guns but that's my main huntin' shot gun.
I have an old Belgian side by side that I bought for doubles shoots at the gun club when I was back East. And my favorite shot gun is a Weatherby Orion over/under I used for trap and sporting clays.
Used to shoot for the Sydenham club in Owen Sound. :good:
There are 3 different skeet tubes Light Skeet, Skeet and Improved Skeet.
Constriction is .003", .005" and .007".
Cylinder choke is .000".
.005" is like the thickness of a piece of paper.
It will be fine.
Yep!!!!
That's it.
The 2 screws hold the sensor in place.
Where the black wire from the temp sensor connects to the terminal block there should be a tan wire (this comes from the low oil sensor assy. and a blue/tan wire this goes to the controls.
If you disconnect the black wire and the alarm stops then the switch is bad. If it still goes off disconnect the blue/tan wire (this will eliminate anything to do with the low oil circuit. If it still goes off there is a short in the control wiring.
Exactly. I only huted white tails about 1/2 dozen times so the expense of a rifled barrel was not worth it to me. If I was a huge white tail hunter you can bet I would have bought a barrel though.
I just ordered one of These from Bass Pro this week. Solopaddler had one on our Attawapiskat trip last spring and I really liked it so I will have one of the 24"X12"X12" models in the boat this year. It will hold a bunch of those 3700 series boxes.
Not too bad really.
I'm sure a rifled barrel would be better but it's pretty consistent out to 50-75 yds.
I used it when I lived in Ontario for white tails (mostly hunted cedar swamps and the shooting was pretty close). Now it's used for bear defence when camping and hiking in the bush.
