  1. Mercer Izumi (both wayne and bob) Dad Couldn't leave him out of that opportunity. Lake of the woods or maybe Lac Seul for their mixed bag of potential trophies. Cheers! K
  2. I always do well using an Erie Deary type set up or a bottom bouncer with a worm harness or a floating jig. I always like chartreuse too. Worms always out produce minnows.
  3. Good for you solo! Glad you guys had a great trip. I for one personally know three guys with float planes that would love to know your spot.....and I for one am glad you kept it private. I love hearing reference of the Great George T. I had the honour of meeting him, fish and golf with him. Great man. Surprisingly a great golfer too! Cheers.
  4. I love fishing for musky and always respect the fishery....but shoot me if I become a "musky firsherman"! Congrats to he who captured the beast! Remember all......pictures don't always tell the whole story!
  5. Awesome! Glad to hear it!
  6. Way to go! Congrats on the catch and release. Cheers.
  7. very cute kicking frog!
  8. .....regarding the cabelas locker, where it says "free mounting...." does that mean something like that could be mounted in your boat? I'm thinking in front of console...????
  9. Who are you flying with Solo? I'm in Elliot Lake and am looking for an early fall/late summer fly out with the boys and Chapleau would be a nice close spot! I hope you have a great trip and I hope things warm up for you. Cool and wet are keeping the pesky flies near by during a part in the season where you'd normally wouldn't have to worry about them. Cheers!
  10. Awesome stuff and made me laugh! My little guy is now three and a half and he too has a hookless rapala and does a mean driveway casting show! He caught his first when he was two. I also try to stay close to home for obvious reasons. Oddly enough, I had more fun ice fishing with him this past march! I found it far easier to keep him entertained on the ice on those nice warm March and April ice fishing adventures. My advice is not to push it.....if he's done after an hour then pack up. Don't want to turn him off! Good Luck.
  11. I'm in the same boat and am leaning towards the F150. Well priced now and the crew cab has an available 6.5ft box which is a huge bonus for me for my toys!
  12. I'm in. Great site by the way!
  13. ....being as I live there....I'd love to hear your Elliot Lake secrets!?
  14. Bless you all! Will be thinking of him and you these next few days.
  15. Mir looked great at the weigh in! You never know in MMA.
  16. laker population has improved over the years. There was a local derby held a couple of weeks ago and the winning fish was about 10lbs. Bring some dipsy divers or some lead core for this time of year. I've always done well downrigging with a whitefish williams spoon. Good luck!
  17. was there last night. Fishing is getting good. Post spawn too!
  18. EGB's Cleos and a little dartee! Have had a lot of success with the dartee.
  19. Well done! Congrats on a great week. Thanks for sharing.
  20. the rent is cheap and the work is abundant. A drive up and going to chat with all the local contractors building homes in all the new cottage lot developments might be worth your time.
  21. lots of construction work a little east of you in Elliot Lake and the fishing ain't too bad either!
  22. you can bring gas, just don't advertise. A 5gallon jug wrapped in a garbage bag will never get rejected on the budd. "It's your drinking water" and the engineers will welcome you aboard!
  23. Great spot to do this is catching the budd in Sudbury and finding a spot to jump off somewhere between there and Shining Tree! Awesome stuff!
  24. My thoughts for the family!
