  1. I would think the neighbour actually has squatters rights in this case. Basically wern't aware of their property over the line and since it's been there for so long it would remain as is. Of course if it's a portable building like a shed, that should be removed off the property but a fence, deck, foundation etc. I think is all squatters rights.
  2. Man your reports & pics are always awesome. Nice fish!
  3. There's a product called "Home Defense". You can get it at Canadian Tire and probably other places. It's truley amazing stuff. You can buy the standard spray bottle or the pump one that gives you continuous spray to go around your house/cottage. I buy the bigger one with the pump. You spray aroundthe base of your property and you're pretty much good for the summer. If any are already in the place, spray under baseboards with it and they'll never come in that room again. Here's a link to the smaller spray bottle version: http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443295498&bmUID=1274997402428 You'll find the bigger one in the store though for sure.
  4. Yea it was cool to see the bear, just glad I never saw one around camp lol. It was Fish Crisp Garlic Butter (new to us). We added water to it, made it more pub style. Honestly, not a big fan of it, has a strong bold taste. I think I'll stick with beer batter or plain italien in future.
  5. Thanks it's pretty basic recipe really. Something like this: 1 cup of whole wheat flour (Comes out tasting a lot nicer than white imo) teaspoon of baking powder tablespoon of milk powder tablespoon of sugar pinch of salt I just throw all the dry ingredients in a ziplock bag. When you mix in your water at camp try to keep it thick, should sort of look like a softball. I just cook it in a bit of oil in the frying pan (on a low-med heat if possible). Takes approx. 10min per side. Just make sure you shake the frying pan until it seperates itself because if it sticks to it you're screwed (Happened to 1 of the 3 on the weekend, makes a crumbled mess).
  6. Exactly... One jumped infront of our jeep on an access road in greater sudbury last weekend. I think I should've called the MNR on that too
  7. That's hilarious, if you went there you would've been thinking who are these jerks who stole our spot? lol. Would've been a heck of a boat ride to another island as we took 2 trips. Thanks again for the spot, it was a nice bonus having amazing weather all weekend.
  8. Obviously smallies with killer paint jobs.... Looks to be the biggest I've ever seen.
  9. Well I finally took a Friday off to get a nice 4 day weekend in with my buddy to go up north and get a real vacation in for once. Felt good to disconnect for a few days, we had zero cell reception the whole time so that was a bonus for me. Many thanks to BUSTER for sending me this location last year and we finaly took advantage it We loaded up the Jeep and headed on our way There are two access roads to the lake and we took the wrong one at the start. However we were rewarded with a black bear running out of the bushes infront of our jeep. He stopped on the other side to check us out for 5seconds and took off. Sadly I missed the pic as he continued his jog before I could snap but it was an awesome moment. Anyway we arrive at our destination and my buddy Ash starts unloading: Our little island for camp was just 500' from shore on the left: We setup camp and were on our way: Our view: Unfortunately the walleye weren't biting for us on day one. I was sad: Saturday Morning we started the day off with some bannock: After a long day of fishing we both finally landed an 'eye from the same hatch, both about 21". It was dinner time for us: We landed a couple more walleye over the weekend but most importantly it was a nice break from life. Here was a nice pic to end a peaceful trip:
  10. OOOH Why did you have to show me this! If they don't got the signs up, I never saw this post.
  11. headin north to greater sudbury, camping/fishing fri-monday for some eyes. Leave tomorrow @ 6am
  12. That's what I was thinking of, thanks. Might be out of your budget though: http://www.amazon.com/SteriPEN-Adventurer-Handheld-Water-Purifier/dp/B000PGYDSE
  13. Have you looked up one of those travel pen kinds? They get great reviews, I think it was outdoor canada that included it in their "Top Tackle" section a couple years ago. It uses UV to zap bacteria/viruses and only takes like 30seconds or something.
  14. We do it all the time on my friends Jeep. He has two 4x4s horizontally and he cut out a notch on the boards to fit on to the rack snuggly.
  15. Nice cottage on wheels! Look forward to one day owning one. Is that an antenna on the top of it?
  16. You guys bring 10 boxes, weighing 20lbs and probably fish with < 10 lures in a day On that note... I'm sure jeleous.
  17. Fish Crisp beer batter is very good, although I find any batter a bit messy for my liking (I'm talking clean up afterwards). I usually stick with a basic breading, often Fish Crisp Italian.
  18. I'm heading to greater sudbury next weekend, I'm still bringing the bug jacket.
  19. Just think of the make up sex this will bring you. There's a light at the end of the tunnel.
  20. Wow those are impressive, well done Those are some big lips, how deep do they dive?
  21. Awesome report, this has got me excited for the may long weekend trip I have planned. Great report, great pics and those fish on the fire looks delic! Congrats on the PB.
  22. I bought a battery operated lawnmower 3 years ago, after about 3 months in it would only be able to cut the front yard on a charge and not the back. I sent in and they replaced the battery in it. Well wouldn't you know it lasted 1 more season and the same thing happened. I bought a Honda gas powered one last year and it's just a beast of a machine. No offense but I wouldn't go back to the battery cordless mowers ever again. I feel your pain.
  23. Wow so many quick replys, thanks I think I'll take some of the advice here and try bleeding them after knocking them out next time, sounds like a simple way of finishing them off & getting the blood out to keep the meat fresh. Cheers
  24. So I'm curious, I've only been fishing a few seasons and been keeping some of my catch over the past year. I've always found it a bit difficult to kill the fish quickly. I usually will give it a swift whack to the head and sometimes it'll knock it out, other times it takes a another whack or two. I've seen others bleed them to death (even on the spot) and others break the spine. I'm interested to know what's everyone elses opinion on it? I think a quck death is better than a slow one. I'm mostly referring to walleye, perch and pike.
  25. Our local Rogers was playing BINGO instead of the game lol However, I did a browse the guide and looked up OHL and there she was. It was playing on a Rogers Sportspak channel in the 400s. Terrible commentary though. Congrats to spitfire, they deserved the repeat.
