  1. Awesome photos. You have some great shots there. Nice fish BTW.
  2. Excellent douG. Looks like a great time. Beauty spot and even better looking fish. Cheers Nemo
  3. Small spinners and EGB's. See Doug's report on Wawa speckles. If you can try some live worms on the spinners and try to fish the wood. Crank baits wouls also be useful. Nemo
  4. Then what do you do with them?
  5. Hi, You'll want to check out this map site. http://www.algonquinmap.com/ Each lake has a key for fish species. It is the most detailed map of the park I have ever seen. This site allows you to view online or download a copy. Nemo
  6. The River flows straight through there but I have never seen anyone fishing. I doubt there is much in that stretch as it is canalized and fairly shallow with little structure.
  7. Hmm looks like Chuck doesn't turn 70 till next year. Don't tell him I said he wasn't seventy. He just get's older faster than mere mortals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Norris Carlos Ray "Chuck" Norris (born March 10, 1940) is an American martial artist, action star and television and film actor who is known for action roles such as Cordell Walker on Walker, Texas Ranger, his iconically tough image and roundhouse kick.
  8. Look for posts on www.myccr. by a guy named Jedi Jeff. He has travelled that park extensively and put up a bunch of TR's. Nemo
  9. Wow that is an extremely fine boat. Congrats. Can't wait to see you guys putting some fish in it. Just to confirm who is the Captain and who is the cabin boy? Just fooling. Nemo
  10. Cookslav I was waiting for this one. Great report. Love the fish pics. Nothing like cracking a cold one and having a nice meal of specks.
  11. OK couple of technical questions now that I have had some time to review the text and photos in more detail. Solo did you use a bolt on transom for the 2 horse or did you strap it right over the gunwale. Also did you run it aft of the stern seat. Just wondering. I always wondered if you could strap it right to the gunwale whether you could run it spun round in front of you. In my prospector I always got a sore arm running it from behind. Also on the mushrooms which ones were in the picture, false morels or beefsteak. Carry on.
  12. Nice Report Solo. Glad to see the Langford worked well. Too bad about the numbers. Thanks for the photos.
  13. My PB Laker and Pickeral
  14. How will you be mounting it? Also it may change the initail stability of the canoe i.e it will seem tippy to side the motor is mounted. If mounting to the gunwale please note that the kevlar may crack form the motor's torque. Also I would test out your set up before hand. Any issues would be better to discover before your trip. Don't ask me how I know
  15. Marine plywood only. Regular plywood will delaminate.
  16. Depends on the gauge of the rope you will be using and the ability to get a strong connection to fasten to the gunwales. Nylon has worked fine for me. But hey if you have the cash the aluminum is probably stronger.
  17. Nemo

    nope

Nice ones gents. Great weather also by the looks of things.
  18. That guy has a big horseshoe somewhere. Could you ask him if I could borrow it? Nice Brookies!
  19. Nice deal. What does she weigh. Would be glad to hit APP with you. Let me know if you need a bowman for your next trip.
  20. Hmm bit early I'd say......
  21. Nice work keep posting.
  22. I was stopped by two CO's in a plane in Algonquin in Sept 2005. We were trolling for lakers in the centre of the park. My buddy was always complaining that he never saw the MNR stop anyone out in the park. Next thing we see the yellow plane do a couple of loops and circle us. Next thing it lands and pulls towards us. The CO steps out on the pontoon and tels us to remove our downriggers and approcah the plane. Two CO's and a pilot. They request our licenses and ask us some trick questions about live bait. Then they jump back in the plane and take off. My buddy starts complaining about why they needed to do that and what the costs were etc. I say look you were complaining about them not checking anyone and they show up you should be happy. Nuff said...
  23. I was up at Kennisis last weekend and it is still covered with Ice. Depending on weather I think it may not clear out till after the 25th of April.
