  1. It may be wishful thinking, but I hope the judge crucifies him.
  2. A lot of people are out there with no insurance these days. Regular dodge is to pay 2 months up front, get your plate renewed, then cancel the policy. They finally caught my neighbour last month, after he had been at it a couple of years. A big reason for many hit and run accidents.
  3. I wouldn't waste the effort to " pass wind in his general direction", let alone go near him. As for Thomas, he made a conscious choice and did what few are willing to do any more. Right or wrong, he acted on his principles.
  4. I'd rather go to McD's or CountryStyle.
  5. In the close confines of a portable hut, shorter is better. I do notice that my hook set needs to be more drastic with the short rod.
  6. Yesterday, we had a great day on the ice. Got out and walked 1 1/2km to our spot. On the way back we find our exit buggered. Some dumb twit tried to drive out and busted up the ice 20' out from the access. There is nowheres near enough ice for cars and trucks. Play it safe guys.
  7. Looks like a great day out.
  8. No English dictionary has been able to explain the difference between the two words 'complete' and 'finished' in a way that's so easy to understand: Some people say there is no difference between COMPLETE & FINISHED but, there is an explanation, as told by a Newfoundlander!!!!!! When you marry the right one, you are COMPLETE.... And when you marry the wrong one, you are FINISHED..... And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are ... COMPLETELY FINISHED !!! End of story
  9. I was out on the opposite shore having a stellar day. Way too many dinks, but still managed a decent bag. That wind was brutal. Was glad to be in a hut.
  10. I know who's kitchen you'd like to visit.
  11. Nothing like a thick creamy and rich pot of kala mojakka simmering on the stove. As for using white fleshed fish for Gravlax, you would not get the same result. They do not have anything near the oil content in the flesh.
  12. You are having more luck than us folks down in the banana belt. Well done.
  13. Looks like a great time for you and the better half. I'm jealous!!!
  14. You might be better off tying a Palomar with a double twist
  15. Because water colour around Southern Ontario can be so dramatically different I tie numerous colour patterns with no preference. For targetting pike I go with willow leaf, but I have found, when drifting a harness, it does not matter what the target may be, everything will pick it up.
  16. Been making, and selling, harnesses past 6-7 years now. I buy all the components through Luremaking.com. Mine are just a tad different.
  17. Kelvin, I read this with the deepest regret and sadness. I can imagine no greater loss. My deepest and heartfelt condolences.
  18. I'm sure I can oblige you, Vince.
  19. Baked whitefish is really quite simple. Scaled and gutted fish with a belly slit. We love stuffing that mixes dried bread chunks, crab/ shrimp, a diced onion and melted butter . A spice mix of salt, pepper, sage and savory. Blend it and fill the cavity, then sew it up. Rub a little butter, salt and lemon juice on the body, and wrap in tinfoil.
  20. We've got the waters for a 40 in our area too, Lorne.
  21. Only possible wrinkle is location. Is the property on waterfront, and is the structure adjacent to the waterfront. As then there may be additional provisions under the NPCA
  22. The bite will probably turn on with the start of the next thaw tomorrow
  23. Making me very envious at the moment, Lorne. Those are some mighty nice late season fish.
  24. Good to hear some positive things happnin in your life.
