  1. 4-6lb ice line on the jigging rods and good old black cord on the tip-up.
  2. Somedays you just need that quiet of being by yourself to collect your thoughts and consider the important things in your life.
  3. With my health I have accepted that I should not be in the boat by myself. Heck, there are a lot of days I don't dare drive. If I'm not too bad, that's when I go backpacking with my pair of rods. Besides do any of us nuts really want to end our days glued to a chair in a nursing home?
  4. You could call that a suicide attempt. He's gonna be unwell for a few days.
  5. "20,000 League" Kirk Douglas singing from ye depths of Davy Jones locker. Aaarrgh! More reel fishin tunes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp8ldfYbY08 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QJK47...rent=B000TECDZC
  6. I like the Aussies. Big Rexxie, Steve and Bushie(the human broom)
  7. Must be driving a wee 3 banger or such. 2 full tanks a week in the van per week to do that commute today would be $200 + $60 for parking, let alone tolls. My mechanic got to see me every month for the oil change and check-up. I think I paid for his new boat
  8. About as exciting as Bingo at the nursing home or watching a chess match
  9. Sound and looks like an idyllic day on the water with your Dad. WTG
  10. I got out of the commuter rat race when the costs hit $700 a month some 15 years back. That was when gas was .35 a litre and there was no toll road. Hate to think of how much cash some of you fellas burn now
  11. Oh so true. I always find the rotten board on the dock to go through
  12. Big white double willow spinnerbaits for the bass and some 8-10" worms. Both work great on the Kissemee area bass, but nothing beats live shads.
  13. Gotta love old time fiddle music. Ever listen to the Mamou players? They've been up into Canada a few times. Great sound.
  14. Crappie and smallies on the Grand camera. Not a great view, but thats due to lack of water clarity. After all it is the Grand.
  15. That man is an accident looking for a place to happen Kinda like my dear wife
  16. After spending 15 hours at the polls, I can at least be proud of Canajuns in the rural ridings. We may have the least say in big govt, but 70% of the voters at our 5 polls cast their ballots. They still understand the value in casting their vote. They understand their duty as citizens of this great country.
  17. I can't think of a nicer way to spend such a lovely evening. You caught fish, fresh air, R & R. The child is all smiles.
  18. Don't care who, what, why. Spoil the ballot or leave it blank. Just get out and vote. It isn't a perfect system, but today you have a say. Many of our forebears, and some of our friends, have given their lives to uphold our rights. Don't let them down.
  19. And here I thought we were talking about peanut butter
  20. After a busy 3 days of packing and trying to sell off or give away 20 years of hoarded junk, I finally had enough. Rockfish gave me the perfect excuse to launch the boat and get away from the house Monday. It was a gorgeous day out. Unfortunately the fish weren't cooperating. Rockfish got a 15" walleye and we got a smattering of nice perch and rockies. All released to fight another day. not really a pic worthy day. Still better than spending a 4th day at home packing. We are finding downsizing a very difficult thing to do.
  21. Good to see the young lad grinnin ear to ear. A day like that is worth more than money in the bank. WTG
  22. Lets hope for a great perch season. Low winds and bigger fish. Nice catch.
  23. Sorry, ours was already devoured and mutilated yesterday. Tried this stuffing with a twist. Cranberry and nutmeats mixed in a bread stuffing. Heavenly.
  24. as long as there are enough old fools around who can remember when the Leafs actually knew how to play hockey, the organization won't have to worry about winning one. Besides there are still a few members of the 66 team sucking wind.
  25. Gather up relevant info about the fish- size, weight, locale, tag#. Then contact your local MNR office.
