We hit record temps here in the GTA yesterday, 13.2C. It was a nice change but yeah, the snowmobile trails took a beating. Next weekend looks good for ice fishing. Things should freeze back up this week then comfortable temps on the weekend.

For flying on a commercial airline, they ding you pretty hard for a big rod tube. I saw a guy do this so I tried it last September and it worked- bring 2 piece rods broken down (I had 5), not in a tube, just held together with electrical tape. They let me carry them on and put them in the overhead compartment, no charge. Just an option to save you from having to buy a travel rod.

Yes, that's the 3rd one and there's one more coming for All Star weekend late January. I don't like it, bums me out. HNIC Saturday night Leaf game is part of my weekly routine and something I look forward to. I won't even bother watching the Habs or Sens games they show when the Leafs don't play.

In an interview Kadri said he wasn't given much of a choice because Jumbo pussy basically said "after the puck drops, it's go time" Jumbo has a bit of a history of picking on the meek. Doughty has one career fight, here's the video,Jumbo pussy dummies him-

Jumbo Joe is a jumbo pussy cat for picking on the much smaller Kadri. Martin should have got in Joe's face later in the game, I'm pretty sure the big pussy would have ran away.

I've got an autographed Bower/ Sawchuck photo. It's sad to hear he's gone. I think he did enjoy his life and he made the most of it.

You were on a stocked, year round open season lake. I find those lakes trickier than the natural laker lakes (open Jan 1). The stockers seem to be shallower than the naturals. If you moved around and couldn't mark any fish I'd say that lake is a dud. If you pm me the lake I may have some info on it and some other better options nearby.

That's a pretty rough day, throw your back out and miss a Leaf game when they blow out the opponent 8-1, lol.

My wife doesn't really like it but I do, shared laptop. Nice, cool fall weather, a chunky pike and a can of Busch on the bench.

I know lots of guys like the Marleau acquisition, not me, I'd rather see a young guy with some edge (I don't know if he exists in our farm clubs) take his spot, get some nhl experience and maybe make an impact and do some damage. And for christs sakes, if the game goes to a shoot out, don't send Marleau.

AKRISONERS Semi Annual Year in Review 2017 v2
chris.brock replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
I enjoyed that! That's a deadly place to have a cottage. It looks like you've got the bass and the pics dialed in pretty good up there, it might be time to chase the giants skis in the fall.- 17 replies

My brother went to high school with Cairns. He said he was big for his age, unstable, and there was an incident where he whine slapped my brother in some confrontation but my brother was smart enough and scared enough to turn tail, hahahha. Here's a cool video that occurred during the lockout somewhere in Europe. Belak had a broken jaw but still answered the bell for his meek European teammates.

Anyone hoping to be on ice in 2 weeks with the forecast?
chris.brock replied to Tjames09's topic in General Discussion
The temperatures are good in cottage country but it's the continual accumulating snow that's not good . The back lake we were at in Haliburton last Saturday had 1 inch of crappy ice, and now there's probably a thick layer of snow on top. -
Something to talk about while water freezes, Nwebies
chris.brock replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
That's an interesting statement. I don't know if I would use the word intimidated, but I know what you are saying. Sometimes while searching something on OFC I'll see names with thousands of posts who haven't been on in years and I'll wonder- what happened to that guy. I think people get the impression they are not really welcome because OFC sometimes comes across as an old boys club's personal blog and they are intruding. It's a shame, lots of good people/ anglers input is lost. -
I don't know, I'd say good game by Mac, he beat the Oilers and the refs
-
sportsclubstats gives the Sens a 6.6% chance of making the playoffs, a pretty radical difference compared to the high expectations before this season. the Habs are 11.3 %.

Yes, I know you did, I agree, and I read the comments after. Down the road, I hope the Leafs can play tighter defensively and reduce the shots on Freddie because I can see the wheels falling off.

No you're not. I had a Titan leak really early and no I didn't step on a nail or cook them beside the campfire. I get a pair of boots/ year from work so I've stockpiled quite a few boots. I still think Titans are good (my other pairs). I live in them in the winter, I don't seem to mind that they are heavy (mine are steel toe) and they are warmer than the Kamiks and stuff when it's really cold.

There's a lot of parity in the diluted NHL. There's a fine line between winning and losing. A team just needs a ticket to the playoffs and anything can happen, like Ottawa's run last season. There's lots of ups and downs and over reactions.. HNIC showed a Montreal newspaper, big half page headline, the translation was - IT'S TIME FOR A REBUILD. Then Price came back and they won 5 in a row. It's comical, what a darn soap opera. The headline before the St Lou game was probably STANLEY CUP BOUND. I think the Leafs are over achieving though, last night was a great example, terrible play but got 2 points.

How many times can Tkachuk accidentally crash the goalie before the refs realize it's not an accident.

yes, ermine in it's winter garb

Cute little bugger, looks mischievous too like he's gonna chew some wires and poop in the airbox

Geoff put this on FB, I thought it was pretty funny, Kadri's expression
