  1. I know it's been said before, but it would be pretty hard to budge that fish on 8lb mono and pretty lucky not to get bitten off with a 4" rapala A buddy hooked what we assumed was a sturgeon on the French, with 10lb mono all he could do was slowly bring the fish up off bottom and then watch as it slowly peeled line for awhile only to settle back down on bottom, he had to give up after an hour and a half and 2 liters of blood gone to the mosquitos
  2. for $15 a case it can be near water, it's cheaper than water up here
  3. We did Parks Fly-In, went to Cam Lk/ Little Miss., we were happy with the trip but you get what you pay for, we paid $650 per guy, we had to spend a couple hours cleaning the cabin (1st goup of the year) of mouse crap, sealing window screens, and little odd jobs. Most of our gas cans had been punctured by bears and were empty. It seems to be bear city around those Chapleau Game Preserve outposts. On the whole, we were happy, we paid about 1/2 price to fish Little Miss., never met Martin but he sounded like a good guy. PM if you like what did solopaddler have to say about the outfitter?
  4. I think I know what lake you like from your trip description. If you download movies, check out "Borealis", a great movie for Ontario canoe trippers, and what cart not to buy
  5. rabbits have always been considered a cyclic population, high breeding potential, pred/ prey? food sources?
  6. I have always wondered the % of alcohol in US beer since they don't post it on the can/ bottle. I was at a restaurant where the menu stated the alcohol content. Everything was over 4%. Even stuff like Bud Lite, and 55 calorie beer was 4.2 and 4.4. I found this interesting, I always wondered if that stuff was 2% alcohol. cheers
  7. cool, I didn't know there was many in there, nice fish
  8. I watch alot of hockey, come playoff time, any team could win, Bruins and Flyers don't look as good as their records indicate Milan Lucic won't score 25-30 goals ever again Thomas and Miller are good, but they can be beat players that need a whoop'in- Souban, Ovechkin and of course, Kaleta
  9. nice fish, it's been eating pretty well, were you fishing for Browns? I'm guessing no
  10. awesome, that's the one, hopefully it works at 7:00, if not I'll try the forum site thanks guys
  11. I'm away from home and would like to watch the game tonight, I use to know a site, something like www.htdm?????, the name didn't have any meaning but the site worked great, anybody know of it or have a good one that works? thanks Chris
  12. my wife figured it out, she doesn't know how she did it(search button?) but got it done, thanks guys
  13. thanks, I tried that and surprisingly it stayed in the same mode
  14. we must have hit a wrong button on the remote, now we can only watch and search HD channels and can't get out of it, help please, thanks
  15. super slushy on the big lakes, there's lots of rain and warm temps coming Thurs. and Friday, hopefully it melts the snow over the slushy spots and freezes up better when it gets cold again Saturday anyone know why the colder the winter the more slush there seems to be on the ice?
  16. wow, pretty tough trip, glad everyone was ok
  17. I know Sudbury Aviation has 2 camps in the southern section of Indian, but who has the camp in the north end? thanks Chris
  18. In that area, Ray's Camp on Ramsey Lk is good (been there), Shooting Star sounds interesting (never been there), or Grey Owl or Ritchies End Of Trail on Bisco are decent (been to Bisco), the Horwwood Lk places sound interesting too (never been there but would like to try it) Also, been to Happy Day Lodge, great people/ place but tough fishing, nice scenery on a big lake though Ray's Camp on Ramsey would be my choice if good fishing for walleye is important
  19. I've been to Borden Lk, Chapleau Lodge and I wouldn't recomend it, nice lodge, cabins and staff but tough fishing, spoke to some guys who had been going there for years and they said it's only getting tougher, that was about 5 years ago If Paquettes on Wangoon Lk is also known as Como Lk, I'd give it a thumbs down too I'm not familiar with the other places but have always wanted to try Wabatongushi and Horwood, there is a fly-in lodge on Wabatongushi, that's a good sign for trips like this, I like larger lakes with limited access like Horwood and Waba
  20. great reports/ pics guys, I really love that sunset shot, reminds me of Haliburton
  21. thanks guys, I feel kinda dumb, the cables were in the right holes but I think one wasn't all the way in, looks good now, thanks again
  22. I had my receiver disconnected for awhile, when I fired it back up, the picture color is odd and has a green hue. A DVD looks normal so I believe it's the satellite and not the TV, I tried all the functions on the remote, I tried resetting the receiver and did an online search but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?
  23. I can't find any forsale, what were they going for at Haldiman? They don't have any right now.
