  1. you can never be too cautious, zombies and sasquatches love fresh fish
  2. pretty cool to have fishing like that basically in your backyard do the sauger taste any different? I'm guessing no we're staying plenty thirsty, don't worry about that
  3. 2 of my favorites For an 8 hour drive, and a week of time off, Barclay Bay, Missinaibi Lake, it gives you the feeling of remoteness unlike any other Ontario Prov. Park. Walleye, the chance at pike, lakers, and a slim chance at smallies. If you don't want to go quite so far, Wakami PP is very cool. Walleye, pike and whitefish, and a great, remote vibe.
  4. The Costco Wetskins suit is what I have, it's fairly heavy, breathes pretty well, the price is decent, but if it's raining pretty good, in time, the water soaks through, I don't want to spend $300 plus and find out it's similar to the Wetskins gear I'm still leaning towards Art's opinion, rubber when it's pouring, Wetskins when it's warm and light rain
  5. yeah, I hear ya, you might take a little heat for that post though, Haha I guess we have to hope that the people that made these regulations thought about all these possibilities and understood them
  6. oh, don't worry, we're thirsty can you recommend a good place where I can buy the tackle you were using? nice job MB
  7. I have a cottage in Haliburton, I'm far from rich, you've been to 30+ Leaf games, with friends, free of charge in the last few years, who's throwing stones here? You guys should make a little noise at the game instead of making business deals
  8. This topic has popped up before. I always pay attention to it and look for recommendations. Previously, the consensus was it's either rain proof and not breathable, or breathable and not rain proof. Are these 100 mph suits both?
  9. I'm pretty sure mattaw isn't worried about nuclear fallout, I'm guessing it's basically nobody wants something like this in their backyard, I don't blame him the lakes suffer more when we hack out our lots, and manicure our shorelines
  10. I finally stopped procrastinating and got my broken (my abuse) Stradic sent in for repairs, I got it back surprisingly quick, labour costs, $25, 4 other replacement parts, no charge another happy customer, all the reels I use are Shimano, and that's all I'll buy, I haven't been screwed yet
  11. I didn't mean to hijack the thread, that's one giant fish there Rich, I like your passion for fishing
  12. yes there is, here's a picture of an already crappy picture, I'm 6'2", this carp from Hamilton Harbour bottomed out a 50 lbs spring scale I think you would be ok posting the weight on here, if not, who really cares?
  13. nice! it's a great part of the world you live in
  14. without saying something I shouldn't concerning what I've seen here in the GTA, what you guys are saying has crossed my mind quite a few times even a visit to a walk-in, costs the tax payer so how about this- a small fee to see a doc (ER, walk-in, GP, whatever), maybe $15, some people exempt (seniors, welfare people, etc) maybe some people with a sniffle would just have some chicken soup instead of going to the doc it will cost me when I do go to the doc, but hopefully I won't pay as much tax to cover all the snifflers going to see the doc edit- reading what Dan said below, and seeing my father-in law get sick and die in FLA, it could be a lot worse up here
  15. oops, I forgot about the ice on Erie some years there's very few fishable days down there, like you said, enjoy it while it lasts
  16. cool, check out my new avatar signature thing at the bottom, you're in good company with Aldo
  17. really, I would have guessed chocolate milk
  18. I'm guessing most of you guys are using battery/ cordless drills. I bought a new hand drill at Home Hardware a couple weeks ago, $20, a Chinese piece of pooh, it wouldn't work right from the start I just found this old drill at a flea market kinda thing, $10 works great, they don't make stuff like they used to
  19. post it, lookin' forward to it
  20. Where's the helmet cam?
  21. there's a good chance you could be sleddin' in May too I think a GoPro would be a good gift for you on the next occasion looks like a fun time
  22. I don't know if you came up with that phrase, I hope it's not sarcastic, but it struck me as a simple, well written, poetic few words I'm going to remember that one back on topic, yes we should (me included for sure) do less grumbling and take more action
  23. That boat will work fine out there, it's no fun when it's really rolling anyways welcome,
  24. beauty fish, you definitely have the Lower Niagara dialed in Aaron big river, crazy current, that deserves respect for sure
  25. yeah that sucks, bad news for sure, lots of campers, camps and canoe routes will be affected I've always wanted to do it too, I like the unique, small town Ontario stuff like that, it seems they are disappearing what's next? the train to Moosonee? the Budd car? the Chi Cheemaun?
