  3. Don't know where you're from but out here in QC, March 31st 2009 is the last day. If you're from Ontario, like irishfield said, download a copy of the regs from the MNR WEB site and find out when the season ends in your region. Leechman
  4. Great report and pics WeedLine That is one big whopper laker Congratulations One of the most beautiful specimen I've ever seen thus far Again great job and thanks for sharing Leechman
  5. First and foremost, congratulations to your father for his well earned retirement Taking him out for supper is a good start and I'm sure he will enjoy it. You mention that the company he worked for will be honoring him at a large scale party.... write up a nice speech for him with details of his evolution throughout the years that he worked there and be the one to be the speaker at his reception. Not an easy task to do but I'm sure that he would be very proud of you. Next I would tell him that he is invited to join you and your family to a place of your choice, it be fishing, camping, touring etc.... After 42 years of working for the same company, your dad deserve the very best and I know you will make it happen for him. Leechman
  6. Radnine, When you open a thread to read it, at the bottom right of the box, there is a multi + button and if you click on it, it will change to multi - Keep going down the thread and select other ones and when you finish, go to the very bottom and click on the reply button. You will see all of the quote that you have selected the same way as if you were simply replying to a post Give it a try... If you still don't get it, I'll try and get a screen capture of how it's done Jacques
  7. Great report and video iceguy Looks like you guys did not want to handle that big cat once it was iced Best way the handle those is to grab them by the belly near the head and stay away from the side picks.... them picks if you get stung, will give you a burning sensation pain that will last for quite a while. Too bad you lost that eye near the hole.... sure look like it was a biggun. The music in the back ground was perfect Thanks for sharing Leechman
  8. Click on the multi quote button at the bottom right of a reply box and when you are finished, go to the very end of the thread and click on reply.

  16. WHAT A TRIP Drew Another stellar report from you Congratulations Loved the pics of the bronze back and the big eyes.... The back lakes certainly paid off for you guys Glad your made it home safe and sound with your family and want to thank you for sharing your adventure with us Jacques
  17. OK Wayne, but I tried LOL
  18. Thanks Bill... wasn't sure and now come to think of it, the trilene knot goes throught the hook eye twice, twist 5-6 times and tag end back into the loop. I use the uni now on braid and when I get a snag, the hook will straighten before the line breaks. That knot, the more you pull on it the more it tightens.
  19. Nice looking speck Terry Are you sure that the back lake you caught that speck isn't connected to Temagami?? Cause if it is then your skunk is off my friend
  20. I think it's called the trilene knot.... but could be mistaken
  21. That looks real good Bruce Nothing like home made recipe to ease the chill on a cold day But I though that you were cooking ling, you got me on that one Thanks for sharing Jacques
  22. I know exactly what you are going to go through.... 13 years ago was the same scenario you just described. My wife was 2 weeks late. Had an appointment at the hospital, packed the car with our stuff and the way we went. What I can tell you is that you will feel a little anxious but in no panic, not like the stories you may have heard. When we got to the hospital, we were directed to a room and waited for the nurses to come and prep my wife for induction. While we were waiting, we could hear the yelling of other mothers in labor and we looked at each other and laugh.... don't ask me why we did that cause I don't know. But when the medication started to take effect, it wasn't funny anymore for my wife cause the contractions were getting more intense. In the pre-natal course we took, they showed us different massage techniques that would help pass the intense contractions and though I give it a shot, seeing my wife was doing the breathing like we were showed but as soon as I put my hand on her shoulder, she immediately said: " DO NOT TOUCH ME " That was it for me, could not do anything else except wait and walk the corridors with my wife It was a very special moment that I will not forget and wish you the best of luck. Hope this will help you and your better half Jacques aka Leechman
  23. I use the uni knot also and find it very strong with all types of line. With mono & fluoro, the only thing I would suggest is to make sure the line is wet when tightening and sliding the knot. I used to tie on the Trilene knot and though it was the stongest but my good friend Paul persuade me to switch over... and I don't regret it one bit
  24. I'm doing ok Mike, don't worry.... just got a little intense watching it and brought a memory flash. Jacques
  25. Great report and pics Greg Looks like everyone had a good time catching.... congratulations to you for locating them Thanks for sharing Leechman
