This is one law I'm alittle confused about, the problem is how much roe is 1 trout or salmon? I have all my roe packaged in day packs so I thaw out one pack for the day and tie it up, I may get 10- 15 packages from a big hen or I may get 5 depending on the fish harvested. How can the MNR determine how many trout were harvested for the amount of roe I have kept, I guess the law would really come into effect if you have over 10-20lbs of roe in your posession. Another problem is trout are in season all year where I fish so Harvesting the roe is legal.I think this law is hard to enforce, but I can see it as extra amunition to be used to arrest a poacher who may be selling wild trout roe.

Cowlings are designed to be on the motor not in the lake, the design is fine for the purpose of what it is designed for. I've had outboards for 35yrs and never droped a cowling in the lake,I have lots of friends who have outboards and never lost the cowling.I would think floating cowlings would be at the bottom of the list for outboard motor designers.

Big chunks of red skien will get them to hit, I think it's a matter of agression since the salmon want there area free of competitive salmons spawn. They will attack the spawn of another salmon/ trout to lessen the compititon on there own young. I think this is the reason they hit the skien or roe

I couldn't agree more the coho were a spectacular salmon to catch, hard fighters, acrobatic and just a fun fish. There also 100x nicer for the table, we still get a few in the spring and summer off the Niagara thanks to our American friends.

No that would be the Atlantic Ocean

That is one of the best motors on the market today, should provide plenty of power for the truck. Sounds like a pretty sweet rig -
It's funny how here in Ontario we bash dudes for fishing the fall Salmon run in the rivers but in B.C and Alaska it's a freaking Bonaza when the Salmon run starts. In the Kenia river people pay thousands of $$$$$$ to fish the king run, yet here in Ontario we bash dudes for enjoying the fresh run of kings. I will agree that when the fish start growing fungus and turning black it's time to leave them alone, but there's nothing wrong with getting out there and enjoying the run right now as they enter the tribs.I have fun throwing glows off piers and even floating big chunks of skien for chinnies this time of year, the fight right now is amazing with these fresh run fish. The Salmon are stocked for the sole pupose of being caught and providing a sport to anglers thats why there here. Anyway it gives me something to do before I start with the trout fishing.

Nice night, Salmon are just starting down here in Niagara, got my first from the pier last night and the fish was still silver. Late run again this year hopefully fishing will get alittle more consistant down here soon.

Port Maitland drops off realativly fast, a couple of miles out your in 60', Steve at fishmasters can really help you out and he has a good ramp right there. The other thing is south winds especially SW can make for rough water on Erie

If you guys were back in the bush poaching fish or wildlife that one visit could be all the CO needs to make a whole month worth of fines. Poachers like to conduct there buisness in out of the way places, off the beaten track areas not out in the open in populated places. This is why CO's take the time to see whats going on in the bush, even in the previous posts I've read people seem to break the regs easier when they think there in an isolated area with nobody around. I think it's more important for the CO's to be checking people back in bush and they probably do alright in fines since as I stated, when some persons get isolated they feel it's easy to break the law!!

you bring a rented car back with no door your paying for a new door...........this is why god invented insurance, you gotta learn life isn't always fair and when you rent something it's your responsibility to return the property in the same condition it was in when you took posession

The bail may have got dinged, or bent alittle this may cause the line not to pick-up right. I've been fishing 45 yrs now and still get loops , no big deal. My problem is I always have my index finger on the line when jigging, or drifting and sometimes doing this will create a loop if I don't pay attention.

If you drove away with a cowling on the motor, and came back with no cowling you lost the cowling, you pay. Sorry but when you signed the agreement you in fact are saying the motor is fine. If the cowling was broke it is your responsibility not to sign the agreement or have this repair needed written into the rental agreement before hand. Anyway good luck trying to prove your not responsible in front of judge. The rental agreement and the lost cowling will be all that is needed to close this case. It's the same as when you rent a car, you do circle check of the vehicle and mark down scratches, dents and such, if you return with a new scratch or an over-looked scratch you are liable

There just kids, doing what the little buggers do best " get into trouble" we all did crap when we were young probably alot worse then this. I would have yelled a few obseinities at them threatened to call the law and that alone would have probably solved the situation. I know when I was young messing around an old man cursing at me and threatening me with the police ussually got me the heck outa there. Even if you know the cops won't show, those little buggers would think they'll be aressted in 2 min hahahah

When you sign the rental agreement you just authorized the charge

$800 seems to be priced high, but if the marina got the assembly right from the dealer then it may be what it cost. The marina is not going to shop the internet looking for the best price unfortunatly he will just call the dealership and order the parts and what ever it costs, it costs it dosn't matter to them there not picking up the bill.

NF - How Much Water do you use?

In Niagara right now this is day 21 with no rain so I'm not surprised the well ran dry, the creeks are all drying up around here right now aswell. My buddy had a water cistern and filled about once a month with a family of 4. They used a water cooler with bottled water aswell for drinking . -
Don't get all caught up in this leader material bull crap, unless your making muskie and pike leaders the extra expense for the smaller lb tests is just a money grab. I used the leader material for drifting steelies and found no difference except the god awfull price . The p-line or basspro regular fluro works fine for leaders in most situations Please don't call us all ignorant and cheap we know what works and the advantages and disadvantages of lines
-
Vanish is crap and I get it free from the Berkely rep, I give it back to him. Basspro fluro is good for leader material and P-line fluro is also good. I can't afford the segaur leader material at $8.00 for 30m, what is it made of gold give me a break. I bottom bounce Steelies in the Niagara and 30m is like 12 -15 leaders and I change leaders alot. The regular fluro is fine and not as stiff as the leader material, better for presenting roe.

seems like lots of kawartha lakes do not have the depth available, in fact most southern Ontario lakes I fish are just shoreline maps
-
I was just gonna say my vexilar atracks them hahahahahah, I get like 5:1 more fish or greater using the sonar
-
Try smaller blades on the front, I always use at least 1 size smaller on the front of a tandem rig worm harnesses are the same always use a smaller blade on the front or the rear one won't spin

Walleye can be notorious for following baits, I like to work the rod alot when I troll, a simple pull or sweep of the rod let the bait flutter down can trigger alot of strikes walleye fishing.
