Sorry to hear Bunk. But yes that is probably the perfect way to go.. if there is one. I remember that first car freedom... it is a glorious feeling. -
Helluva Spring Start to Fishing... and a Buick.

Great report Bunk. Thanks for sharing. 51000k on a 16 year old car is quite something lol. I am sure your daughter will love it. -
Quebec Red Trouts , Quebec Crappies , Quebec Whitties

Was on the Quebec side as well poking around looking for open water. It will be a couple weeks yet with these low temps before those mountain lakes are ice free. Nice report. -
Outstanding report as per usual Bunk! Thanks for taking the time.

Check out this new version of Sounds of Silence
BassMan11 replied to jimmer's topic in General Discussion
The live version is better and it is very well done. But........... come on -
The style will obviously play into it but speaking from experience, some Maui Jim sunglasses can be adjusted to fit better. They asked me in store when i bought mine if the nose piece or arms needed to be adjusted for a better fit. For me it was not needed but apparently they can do it.... or you can try and do it yourself. http://www.stewartdelavega.com/p59RADDjY/

A little extreme isn't it? Your cat pooped in our garden so I am going to sugar both your vehicles gas tanks? Is this something you think is acceptable or justified? That's like holding the door open for someone and when they don't say "thank you" (enrages me) you sucker punch them in the back of the head.

Just a reminder that Episode 7 is supposed to be out today. It will be interesting to see what happens.

If you are going to go higher-end go i'd Maui Jim. I'd say the difference between Maui Jim, Costa del Mar, or Oakley from a performance or look standpoint they are all fairly similar. But once you start reading reviews and learn about excellent Maui Jim's customer service is in comparison to the other brands is a pretty easy decision. I picked up a pair of Peahi's with the glass and HCL Bronze lenses earlier this year. By far the most comfortable and best fitting sunglasses I have ever owned. IMO of course.

Uncut is by far the best fishing show out there but when it comes to T.V. I do watch a couple. - Linders Angling edge (minus the last 5 minutes) - Facts of fishing - Musky Hunter - Timmy Horton Outdoors - The next bite All of these shows have the their product placement parts but I at least find these ones somewhat informal on techniques and somewhat interesting at times. Unfortunately almost all of them are only on WFN.

A Maintenace tip for transducers/ almost NF
BassMan11 replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
So hold on a minute...... if I buy a $300 Helix 5 with down imaging I am going to have to purchase a $175 transducer every 5 years to make sure it working to its best ability? Yikes... glad I don't have the $300 structure scan unit. -
I have a Lowrance Elite 7($699) at the tiller and a Helix 5 DI ($325) at the bow. I find for 2D sonar the Lowrance looks a lot better then the Hummibird. Down imaging is good on both units. The Helix is much brighter and easier to see from anywhere in the boat. I like both units and you really can't go wrong with either brand imo. For your price point I would go with the Helix 7.

Hide'n Out in Haliburton, Fish Derby report, np
BassMan11 replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Awesome Chris. -
Have 2 units both with down imaging. I find it beneficial when looks for structure and you can really tell what things are when its dialled in properly. I can't comment on the side imaging but I probably wouldn't go any smaller then a 7" screen for that application. Might be tough to read.

Awesome

Yikes!

I believe the 3 inch. Larger size is only a half inch bigger I think. I am a sucker for a new top water lure.
-
Ottawa store had them. Bought a handful. They are smaller then I thought they would be.
-
It wasn't me who inquired, but I bought a Terrova 55/54/US2 w/Ipilot for $1495 all in with the rebate. Just a quick update.. it is a "we pay the tax" event and you get a dollar per thrust pound for a rebate... so my rebate is $55. Good deal regardless. Thank you for the heads up. I am sure people will appreciate it.

If you can sign Steven Stamkos you sign sign Steven Stamkos. #1 centres do not grow on trees and if you can sign one of the best goal scorers in the league you sign him. He's not going to right the ship himself but it's a damn good start. And we are talking about a free agent signing and not giving up picks in a trade. You're telling me if Toews, Kane, Ovi, Malkin, Tavares, Seguin, Benn, or Crosby were available as a UFA you wouldn't want to sign him because your team is "not ready" and is in a rebuild? There is no Conner McDavid in this coming draft or the next (at this point)... remember Nail Yakopov was highly praised and a #1 pick as well. No guarantees Austin Mathews will ever become even an elite player. Only player on the Leafs now that should be signed and get his money is Reilly. Everyone else is expendable. I'll take Stammer at 11mill rather than Kadri at 5mill (which he will be asking for). That being said.... can't understand why he would want to come to a team that is in a full rebuild when he is in the prime of his career. Regardless it will be very interesting if he doesn't sign with Tampa by the deadline........ As a die hard Leafs fan... I would take him in a heartbeat.

As winternet fully sets in for me and I add to my tackle collection, I can't help but think about my trips for the 2016 soft water season (which can't come soon enough). June 3-6: Pike and Brookies in Northernish Quebec June 25-July 2: Cottage rental at a nice Lanark lake for a week of Bass fishing Aug. 5-7: Family trip to the French river Sept 10-17: Nakina for Eye's and Pike Where is everyone else headed this year?

I am in Ocho right now. Fishing is the last thing on my mind. That being said there is a guy that I might call for this weekend. Sunshine Watersport. Every single review is a good one and I would assume be cheaper than the big boats. As Lookin said, jerk everything.....red stripe.....30 degrees......reggae music......ya mon. Life is good right now!

Nominations for "Best Thread Of The Year 2015"
BassMan11 replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much sums it up for my favorite as well. But anyone who takes time to write a fishing (or fishing related) report I read and enjoy! -
Just an amazing read and story in general. Thanks for taking the time to write that up. Man I wish you would have drilled truck tire lol. I have no time for people like that.
