  1. I'd also greatly appreciate an update; we're by Carnarvon but I fish most of the lakes from Minden to the Frost Centre
  2. I put an old set of plugs in when fogging so that when I start it up in the driveway in the spring, I'm not fouling a good set. Once the oil burns off, switch over to the good/new set.
  3. slight problem with that anchor called a no-trade clause...Kab will do the same thing as his hero Mats and not waive the clause
  4. Thanks-it was great just to get out; the winds are starting to have a bit of bite to them though. As for the leaves, yep, not too many left. Cheers
  5. I managed to sneak away north on Saturday. Smallies and largemouth were hitting on dropshot Gulp minnows, tubes and spinnerbaits at depths of 12-24 feet. Attached is a typical smallie; sorry about the quality but it's the old phone while by yourself trick.
  6. I had a plug with a hairline crack in the insulator that caused that sort of issue.
  7. that is an amazing fish...glad you were able to get out; the wind here was too much
  8. ahhh the elusive and majestic sheephead....
  9. Speed on the water is a blast. A few years back my cousin had access to a boat they used in shows (some tricked out 2.5L Merc on a Checkmate) that got us up to a ridiculous 87 mph. He got the thing over 90 on a flat day...
  10. there was some blue-green algae last week, so I dont know if its worth it...
  11. Hey all-just wondered if anyone has changed the impeller on a 2002 Suzuki DF40 (or DF50). As far as I can see, other than the obvious bolts for the lower unit, there's a nut for the shift linkage that is accessable once you shift into reverse. Any insight would be great as I'd like to change the thing as some preventative maintenance.
  12. fantastic report...I haven't been to LP in a few years and miss it a ton...used to go as a kid all the time to visit family in Port Rowan.
  13. awesome fish-thx for sharing....if I may ask where did you launch and what did they ding you?
  14. today's Spec ran the same story...I'm with those who are wondering who the hell eats a fish that they found on the shore, nevermind not even knowing what it is!
  15. I think you can rent from most resorts in the area. You can likely find places on Kashag, 12 Mile (Wedgewood Marina) and I think Hawk Lake marina rents as well. 705-489-2429. The best bet might be to call Minden Live Bait 705-286-4826
  16. thanks guys...heading back up soon!
  17. I was out a week and a half ago at the cottage and the water temperature had finally broken 70 degrees getting the fish a little more active. Smallmouth were relating to boulders and rock, and at the primary break to deeper water. Soft plastics such as tubes and stick baits were producing as were topwater lures like Skitter Pops and Pop R's. Here were the best two fish a 18" and a 20"er. Sorry about the photo quality but I was solo and using my phone.
  18. ahhh the elusive Freshwater Boot...errr Drum
  19. Try Wedgewood marina down at the bottom of 12 Mile; you can boat up to Bosh from there. I don't know whether Northland Marine in Carnarvon rents boats, but if they do it's a short drive to the boat ramp from there.
