  1. where can you launch in Cayuga please?
  2. Wedgewood on 12 mile rents for sure; there's also a guy who sells watercraft just across from the Pepper Mill restaurant a bit further up 35; not sure if he rents tho
  3. don't forget the good ol' frozen smelt...works in the Haliburton area
  4. thanks for the news, and any updates would be greatly appreciated...as was said, Easter weekend just sounded better
  5. thanks...I'm not usually a crankbait guy but you have to feed the fish what they want...
  6. This year has been one of the more challenging...the bass never really settled into the usual patterns.
  7. I was Tue and Wed and had some time to see if the smallmouth were willing to play. They seemed to be interested in lipless cranks and tubes...here are a couple:
  8. Awesome Hali bucket...I'm heading back up in a few days-here's the best from my last trip. She came out of 20' dropshotting. I'm glad to hear they've finally moved to more traditional summer haunts.
  9. sweet looking bucket-congrats!
  10. thanks, guys...glad to hear misery loves company! I'll be giving it a go again later in the week; if anything changes, I'll certainly pass it along.
  11. I'm with you on not finding the Haliburton smallies in their usual haunts-it's a "break the rules" summer it seems.
  12. Hey Will: Good to see you're still catching fish! Cheers
  13. I was out on the weekend; bite was a bit tough with the shift in weather. Are folks finding that the fish aren't settling in to their usual mid-summer haunts yet? I'm still finding them scattered all over the place. For example, this 20" largemouth came on a dropshot in 19' of water near a submerged island. I also found buckets up in 4-5' and smallies in the same depths.
  14. As of last weekend, the Haliburtonhttp:// bass still hadn't established a regular pattern on our lakes either. I got some on topwater, some on tubes rigged weightless, some on spinnerbaits and none on bottom, anywhere from 8' to 18'. Here's a typical one
  15. Water temp was reading 68/69 F...white 4" tubes weightless on a 4/0 hook was most productive...covered a lot of water and depths up to 14'...as Jigger said, no real pattern played out
  16. congrats on the PB and a great outing
  17. nice looking fish-congrats
  18. Got out for a while both Saturday and Sunday. The smallmouth were cooperating with at least a decent fish each hour; here are a 19.5" that came on 4" tube rigged on a 4/0 hook (no additional weight)and a 17" on a senko clone. They went back in to swim another day.
  19. Haliburton
  20. Jacobs has great bait and counts
  21. thanks, fishindevil
  22. not sure they let them in; rumour I heard was that some ponds on private property overflowed and they've spread
  23. nice results- impressive!
  24. thanks, guys. She certainly was my PB in this set of lakes; it only made long term fishery sense to put her back. Dinner can be a foot shorter lol.
  25. We were up to do the full-family celebration of my dad's 70th, but I managed to sneak out for a few hours last Sunday morning. Caught 3 average-sized pike; the best fish of the morning was this 27" pickerel caught in 22' on a jig/gulp minnow. Let her go to swim another day and hopefully be mama to many more.
