I have a stylus tough 6000 and am not overly impressed with it. Slow shutter speed and seems to result in lots of blurry pics. Not nearly as good quality shots as my sony.

Congrats to the USA on their win. Pronger, Getslav, Thornton, Perry = not great picks. We need to learn that the big slow guy is not the way to go in the Olympics. Thornton is a great player, just not in the Olympics. Relace these guys witht he likes of Carter, Stamkos and I will take St.Louis on my team anyday. Brodeur has not impressd me for some time. Miller played great and always does for the sabers as well. Hope we get another chance at the Americans.

I use an IKEA bag to weigh fish. I put bag on the scale, Zero the scale and put fish in the bag. This works well and does less damage to fish. I have a Rapala scale and it works well.

That for the reel info. Goodbye

Great run and a well deserved gold for Bolideau but I can't help but wonder if we are ever going to find a better way judge sports that are not timed. I really wish we did not have to that subjective opinion involved in a result. Anyway, it was a great day for Canada.

Exactly. Aparently we are a bunch of beard-wearing, poorly dressed, dyed haired, tattooed, tap dancing, trannies. Well actually it might have been a good representation but we should try our best to not let the rest of the world know this. Beijing spent $300 million and we spent $38 million. You could tell. At $38 million, we got ripped off. I figure that was worth $8 million. Someone just stole $30 million and is going to get away with it.

Yeah, but KD lang is a dude. Guys (especially musicians) don't have to be good looking to be successful. Steven Tyler, Mick Jager for example.

I thought it was weak. THere were some good things but way too artsy for me. Are you telling me we can't do better than KD Lang??? I don't even know who that duet was. Could we have anymore bearded guys in the show? Native chiefs late for the ceremony was funny. Whale on ground was good. Snowboarder jump was good. Hydraulic pillar not funtioning was not acceptable in my opinion. A bit Mickey Mouse in my opinion

I think you forgot part of this quote. Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, teach phys ed. I teach phys ed. Woo hoo. I talk about my love for fishing all the time to kids at school. I know lots of students don't like it but I do and I tell them it is my opinion. I don't talk about torturing fish and I rarely talk about eating them. Mostly I just talk about the fact that I like fishing. I wore a WFN t-shirt to school under my zippered hoodie and made sure it was unzipped enough to see the orange WFN crest. I then explained that WFN (in my opinion) was the best network on TV. Anyone who disagreed lost 5% off their final mark. No one disaggreed J/K by the way about the students losing 5% because they didn't agree with me. Don't want to get anyone's panties in a knot here. Oh, by the way I teach in an area where kids drive more sleds to school than they do cars and they often take a week off school to go hunting so my opinion and love for fishing is shared by many.

Be careful and check insurance before purchasing. Ex-school buses are considered extreme high risk (I can explain why but it might take a while). My friend phoned everywhere before he could get an insurance firm to insure one. They wanted $500 per month for insurance so before you buy make sure you can insure it.

Wow! I bet Dave would have similar stuff.

Would love to see the Saints win but the Colts are probably too well rounded.

nice work. I could not help thinking how good those perch would have tasted. -
nice work! Those are some huge snowmen in the background.

I have used their tubes without any success. I have found that they do not do well but I have only used one colour on one lake so I should not make such a bold statement. PS What do you mean by tubes and tube jigs??? Aren't they the same thing?

First paid job was paper route. It was a big route and I got about $70 /week. I hired my mom to drive the car on saturdays when I had to put together and deliver over 100 big saturday start papers. She charged me $10 each saturday so I guess I cleared $60 per week. That was back in 1985. First job other than that was bus boy dishwasher at Swiss Chalet when I was 14-15. Brutal job. I was making more than minimum wage at $2.75/hr but I belonged to a union (lol) so I had to pay dues. I only worked there for a year. The following year I worked at CTC in the fishing department. Cool job as we had a great fishing dept in the Barrie store back in the day,

Great Lures That Caught You Squat Last Season?
Cudz replied to CLofchik's topic in General Discussion
Here is a pic of my most dissapointing lures. None of these lures have caught me a fish. I have used them all for substantial periods of time and I have owned them all for at least 2 years. I do still try to use them because most of these lures cost me close to between $10 and $20 each Starting on top of pic. 1. Bass Magnet Eyecatcher (Canadian company. I really wanted it to work but no luck) Catches your eye, not fish. That goes for most soft swimbaits for me as well. THey look great in the water but fail to produce. 2. Lucky Craft RC 2.5 Bream. Great action, no fish ever. 3. Sebile Magic swimmer. Everyone on the bass tour raves about it. I have used it countless times in the past 2 years and have come up with a big goose egg!!!!! 4. Sebile flatt shad. Used it (both sizes) and had a follow up once 5. Lucky craft wander. Very rare lure that can fished many ways. When it sinks it wobbles just like a senko Often called a hard senko. No fish! 6. Bagley's chatter shad. I have owned it for 22 years and no fish. 7. Rapala clacking rap (or whatever it is called). Used it all last year and nothing. 8. Lucky craft pointer 78 and 100. I lost my 100 and the 78 has caught me nothing. 9.Lucky craft sasara minnow. Looks great but does not run properly. Does not have any action at all. I realize that others will have had success with these baits but not me. I am pretty sure that one of my lures here the pointer 78 is Steve Robotham's favourite jerk bait. lol In this pic is almost $200 of non fish-catching plastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I might make it out tomorrow at 1030 until about 1. maybe (no hut and it is going to be freakin cold tomorrow). Ice is very good right now.

I have a friend with a similar pond. In the past they tried stocking it with rainbow trout but they could never reproduce so their population quickly eroded to nothing. Then about 20 years ago about 60 fish were released into the pond (not sure how they got there ). There were 5 (2 pound) smallmouth, 5 (2 pound) largemouth, and about 50 panfish (perch, sunfish, rockbass etc). THe pond still has a healthy population of fish but only the largemouth and sunfish reproduced successfully. If it were up to me I would stick with those fish as they seem to be to replenish their populations naturally.

LOL. It was a tough day Steve. We followed you and Ryan almost everytime you moved (until you guys walked almost all the way to BBP!!!) I had to be home by 12:30. You might have started on the North shore but you finished nearer to the south shore. Got to hand it to Kelli though as she seemed willing to do the walk. She also got up pretty darn early to be at the park before 7am (no way my wife would ever think of doing that) I saw the one pic of the laker and it was taken fairly late in the morning. I did not feel too bad about my day as I know you guys know what you are doing and you guys were having a tough time out there. I managed a total of 2 perch. I guess I should have introduced myself but you guys were just leaving the parking lot to go out onto the ice when we were getting our stuff ready in the parking lot.

That is actually a 12 pound eye. Simon has very big hands. Congrats on the PB
