The weather forecast says cold for 4 or 5 days than it's going to be way above average temps. They are usually never right but we'll see. Remember it goes a lot quicker than it forms, couple warm days with heavy rain will do the trick. My guess for safe ice fishing was almost perfect this year, so I'll go out on the limb and say Simcoe ice will be gone by April 19th. Any takers 2-1 odds

Nice collection. I'm getting pretty carried away to, but if your serious, last year I found a small electric wet stone grinder laying around so I tried it out. Most of my hooks a 3x strong mustads for pike and musky and they are fairly thick but the stone got all my lures razor sharp in minutes. It worked great but I ruined a few hooks at first, it takes a little finesse.

Thanks Wayne, I bet you've been thinking about this too, with that new machine of yours. Lew I'm jealous. I ran a power cord from the boat house down the dock and my sister almost killed me, lol, shes a neat freak to say the least, she doesn't like anything laying around, I can't even have a drink on the table when I stand up to go to the bathroom by the time I get back my full drinks gone and shes washing it in the sink. I told her to see a shrink. So I have to haul those heavy batteries all the way to the boat house 20 yards away. Cast Away, I'm in Pointe au Baril. The boat I have now is old and beat up but I'm planing on saving my pennies up this year for a new one. A guy across the channel has one of those they look like they would do the trick for sure, definitely an option.

I fish at least 3 or 4 days a week during the soft water season and have always just left my boat in the water at my sisters dock instead of pulling it in and out all the time. It has it's obvious conveniences, saves a lot of time etc.. but I think it wears your boat down a lot quicker to, banging the dock puts dents, skratches the paint, shaking things loose over time and the sun beating on it all day. Anyone have one of those lifts to keep it out of the water ? Where do you guys keep your boats ? what are some things you could do to maintain your boat if it's always in the water ?

Hey congratulations on the Basketball tourney. I use to be a mad baller before I blew out my knees at 22, I know how tough it is for Canadian basketball players to make it, you have to play in the US to have a chance, but Canada is working on it and it's growing nicely. Go Raptors, and Steve Nash. Good luck Young one, you must be a great player. What school and province do you play for in Canada or use to play for ? Oh, nice fishing gear too.

I might be in a few tournaments one day (not bass). Anyway like I said before, tournaments are about who has the best/fastest boat with the most stickers on it, they have nothing to do with kids, the fishing comes second after the sponsors. If you want your kids to be competitive fisherman, teach them how to sell the gear.

We got the dragonflies and millions of frogs too but they don't compete with the bugs, the black flies up here are worse than the skeeters though and then there's the horse flies and deer flies that chew holes in you skin. Mayebe it's cause we got more fish that eat the frogs and Dragonflies.

80f, you bugger, us Canadians got another month and a half or two before those temps.

I picked PP, but different braids can be better at times. The spider-wire cuts through weeds better, and the Cortland super line is a lot thicker and almost floats like fly line, it's good for top waters or any time you want a high presentation. Haven't herd of the sinking stren, but if it works it would be good at times for sure.

Heck NO, don't give them the key, they want to take care of the problem now for some future tenants but they wouldn't help you when you asked ? they showed you no respect so don't give them any back. Unless your a saint, then tell them "well you wouldn't help us when we asked, but we are not asses like you so we'll let you fix the problem." and then if they have any conscience they will feel bad and apologize, lol...

I'm on jin clear water and 99% of the time use PP or Spider wire with a long floro leader for every species, can't be beat. If you haven't used super lines your missing out, they are far more sensitive, better hook-sets, won't break like mono, and you think it's expensive but it lasts a few years at least, and you only have to put around 100yards over some mono.

Those are nice, I see they got the split ring nose on them to.

Sounds like Heven and He11 to me, first getting drills and needles in your mouth than doing a little dental work of your own on those pike. The day started bad, ended good.

Welcome Bryce. I've been to Sauble beach many times, but unfortunately I was the fish those days. Never tried the river but if it's anything like Wasaga beach it will be good, I've never herd anyone talk about fishing it.

I've seen a few beavers wink at me, pretty interesting stuff. Ya, I remember the first time they did that to me, those beavers need anger management they can get ticked off in a hurry. -
Nice one fellas, I've caught my share of those stick fish too, they put up good fights but not to many head shakes.

Looks like another is trying to get in the market

Damn, I thought it was the Canadian company too. I here ya, but even if it was the Canadian Legend they would even have a 60 hp on it, lol.. -
Great photos guys, ccmt that Jays hat brings back the Joe Carter memories, instant hero that year.
-
Wow that thing looks freaky. I think a couple 4 wheelers would do the job though.

I know Chinese men like them, I caught a few one night and I was like a god because I was giving them away to the Chinese dudes that were watching us fish in Collingwood. They were very grateful to say the least, it was like watching kids on Christmas morning. I've never ate them, you might have to clean them with a chainsaw to get through their armor.

Bass boats only come with 200hp minimum silly. A 40hp bass boat would be similar to seeing a horse and carriage on Young street, all though you might see a few pilgrims now and again. lol. -
I have had no problems with the HMG or Techna AV's, but the Canadian series are crap. I even have a HMG/AV musky jerk bait rod that is the strongest rod I have it tosses mag bulldawgs and huge jerk baits no problems and has for the last 4 years and those are some heavy baits. The AV's are amazing walleye rods, like others said the top of the line stuff is a whole new world compared to their lower end junk.

They look nice, they already make boats might as well have a bass boat in the line up. -
I like spider wire and PP, PP is a little easier to tie its got a rounder profile to it. I also use the Cortland super line, it's just like braid but it's a lot thicker and almost floats on the surface like fly line, if you want a high presentation or to keep your lure up.

Haha, I was looking for that pic, a friend of mine also emailed me that same picture a couple years sgo and I've been looking for it, thanks.
