Rick,I can remember very clear of a day on lake O many years ago. We were heading in not out when it rolled in. Out of no where there was this sail boat. I ,ll bet there was a foot no more, between us and the bow when we seen it. My buddy rammed it into reverse real quick. We were just at a snails pace thank goodness. That there, is some scary chitz.

Any chance you can convert it into a tiller,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Look forward to your end result. Looks like you have a boat load of work there.

A couple of guys that are/were, members here do it. I just went with what they told me and havent looked back. They used rubber bands, (thats what I started with, til I had one break and thought I had the holly of holly strikes. Line was every where.LOL). Thought, why not use one of the hair bands I have from the mrs,s to tie the rods together. I thought the mrs,s wouldnt mis a few of them, til I was asked why I had them on my rod..LOL

Have you tried buffing compound? if it,s minor,Im sure it would buff out/blend.

Was this your first run of the season ? Maybe a gasget or seal was just not seated right or relaxed while siting, and now it is back where it should be. Possible needle valve. Just a thought.

Been using it the last two seasons. The 13.5 rod gives me a few seconds to react.LOL
