  5. Read this yesterday on the other board as well. Very sad.
  6. I dont hang with these guys, Kev and Anthony, but have met both of them a few years back. We bump into each other on the rivers in the fall, and Simcoe from time to time during the hard water season. These guys are stand up fellas. Where is my little dude Mikey though????????
  7. My parents made the move from the city and moved north. Both retired early and are enjoying the northern life. Lakes all around them, gun club to keep my pop busy, wild life that visits them each morning. Mudder gives them all names. Down side with that is, there no hunting in the back yard. LOL All the best on your next lifes adventures.

  9. Thanks guys, I knew I would get many ideas. I too like to have a long leader. As you said, damaged ends, I also like to have the leader in the spool when I get the fish to the net. I got til mid of next month to get all tied up for my up coming, 5 lakes in 5 days again.
  10. As always brother,,,,,,,,,,,,
  11. I dont have the tools to make proper heavy leaders,( crimps and swivels and all that ) I dont do enough of this type of fishing to justify the cost of this tool and terminal tackle, so Im looking for a knot that will work for me. The knot will be at the hook. I will double uni ( if possible with this thickness of leader ), if uni to uni is all that will work,Im going that way to my main line. Going with 30 pound braid and the leader will be 20lb P-LINE FLORO CLEAR. ( feel free to suggest another combination, Im all ears ) I will be after big largies, but there are big toothy critters. I,ll be using top water plastic baits. I know from my past with toothy critter bouts, straight tie with braid, has not been on my side. Live target perch that was my FIRST purchase, when they first came out, GONE.Just ask Lew. Im just looking for a set up that will work with what I have. EDIT Im guessing a Palomar knot would work at the hook, but not 100% on that.
  12. The jig business seems to be picking up Bruce. Good on ya both and grats to him and the bride.
  13. I thought you were going to be roughing it this trip. LOL Great time with your pop. NICE.
  14. The hooks in the picture I posted. They are 4" long. The baits are 8 " long.
  15. A blast from the past. Good to hear from you longtime no post guy. Anyone that can help CB out please do. Hell PM him. I have no idea of the lake or area Arron, but hope you get a lead and good luck, have a great time.
  16. The ones I posted I will use those large single hooks. Thats it. They will sink slightly, but thats the idea. I jerk and pause them. Cant wait to hit a new water hole. From all my reports received, it could be a real fish work out.
  17. And to think, heading that way had crossed my mind. Hit a back lake over there, but the rains changed my mind.
  18. The last of what I have left. I have a lake to try this year. Something tells me, I cant save them from being eat,n up.
  19. Tried to watch today, but it breaks up and stalls.
  20. Were you in a tourny?
  21. Did you come up to the factory Joe? I guess you wont be interested in this then JOE http://www.kamadojoe.com/grills/ A grand for the jr, and just over 2 for the BIG JOE. Cabelas here has them. Didnt turn me on to much for that kinda $$$$
  22. I always read the old stuff. Down to earth and real. Well not the women thing. LOL Nice double rainbow. Means you might out fish the wimmen.LOL
  23. The crane,not the swan.
  24. Got up this morning and headed for some fishing. The road was 50/50 wet, dry, figured we got a sprinkle over night. As I heading to my fly fish area, I am seeing large water ponds in the fields. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Get to said river and HOLY MOLLY. How much rain did we get? Hell, even the local snapper wanted out. So since that was a no go,I headed up to Collingwood. That maybe I would float around in the harbour. It was all muddy. How much rain did we get? Took a couple of crappy pics of the locals. White crane ? Watched him picking off his breaky. Might of been frogs,as I heard lots of them crocking. Coming home, I went through a down pour where I had to pull off. Wipers on high and still couldnt see right. So,how much rain did you get ?
