Two local anglers are facing charges for allegedly selling walleye and yellow perch illegally.
The Ministry of Natural Resources apprehended the anglers in LaSalle and Windsor last week after a 13-month investigation.
Both anglers had sport fishing licences but it is alleged they have been catching over the walleye limits and selling fish illegally. The ministry suspects they have been doing it "for years," said Kevin Sprague, a conservation officer with the Lake Erie Enforcement Team.
A local commercial establishment, which bought fish from the anglers, is also facing charges, Sprague said.
No names will not be released until arraignment, he said.
Conservation officers also seized two vehicles, a fishing vessel, a commercial scaler, a processing table, fridge, freezer and some fishing gear.
Sprague said the ministry began monitoring the anglers' activities after receiving a tip. He said the investigation was a lengthy one because "we wanted to get a sense of who was all involved."
"Every month, we were getting a new player."
Hey Billy Bob,Looks like were going to get your Bills aswell.I,ll trade ya our jays for the bills,,,,,OK???????????
Looking forward to the games up here.
??????????????????????? WHYS THAT???????????????????
Yes.lets get it on.
Boat owners have to apply and get a lic,but those that rent from a resort do not. WHY IS THAT??????????????????
I want to know why we spend money to have our toys and others can just play for free, well not for free, you still pay, I guess to play, but at others expence.
If Im out of line,I am sorry. Guess Im having a hard time with the way laws/rules are being implimented these days.
Look for the cluster of boats.Try there. If nothing, move around til you find the schools. Not hard to see on the finder. Dont be afraid to fish for those suspended fish in 60-70 fow.
Lakers can be had aswell.
Oh and if you got a green monster, give it a whirl.
There is 2 general areas. Willow like steve said and Fox,but Fox means out from the island.More like out from Snake then anything.Look for the green marker bouy and stay north of it.Im sure there will be a cluster of boats there aswell.
Another spot is south of Georgiana. Not many boats fish there but, if you see a couple, then it,s worth a try.
Now if the lake is calm, take a ride towards BBP. You can either downrig or look for clusters of fish and jig.
Good luck.
Hey Terry, what ya doin this saturday?????????????????????????
Part of me found it funny, but the other side, found it stupid and disrespectful. Guess Im getting old too.LOL
Heres what I did with my 14 ft ,er.
I just clamp it on. It was a 6 hp evenrude. The main was a 25 merc. No issues,
Man I missed that boat now. Something about "keeping it simple" comes to mind.
Hey Steve nice fish. Im thinking you were not in the bay here. If you can find the 55-60 fow break straight out,you can nail them aswell and theres no one to bump into you.LOL
TFS
BTW
Perfect for that quick splash on the face and wake up.
Are you talking about the bend area?
To bad. Great spot to hot shot a wiggler.
To bad theres so many slobs.
There also the other spot down the side rd that was a great place to fish, but like this,it is no more.
Chris, first of all have a great time.2nd of all,the launch is large enough for that HUGE tiller you got. I never seen any gates closed there, but being the long weekend,Im sure the guards of the park will be there. I do believe the launch is 10 paso,s.
HAVE A GREAT TIME.
