just a little positive customer service story about our friends at MNR . Earlier today I emailied a question to MNR via there website ( "contact us") . It was answered via return email in less than 15 minutes with the advice/info I needed. Called the Ministry department suggested ,phone answered by a real person , who managed to solve my issue in under 5 minutes. who says customer service is dead.... or should I be buying a lottery ticket ! Interesting video. Reminds me of an old high school girlfriends family who had a sugar bush in the Westport area. her father was old school and used a team of horses to gather the sap . The sugar shack smelled of maple syrup even in August! TB

And not just any Muskie My First Muskie after a few weeks of getting snowed in I finally picked a good day .Temperatures into the single digits and sunshine . Met up with Hometownhandyman in Hamilton and after a quick stop a CTC ( Left boots at home ) we headed off to the river . Arrived at the Netherby ramp around 10:30 ( after a tour of the surrounding farmland ) Ramp was bare and dry ..however the water was heavily stained (brown) Launched and headed up stream .Water clarity seemed to improve as we got into deeper water a bit farther upstream , although wasn't much better than maybe 12-18" .water temps at 39 degrees. Trolled a few hours with only the odd 'tick' showing on the electronics.Clearing weeds was the only exercise we got . Enjoyed the company the scenery and the snacks ! Watched the us coast guard run up and Down the US side Decided to try a firetiger grandma and that was what proved to be effective as this pretty little fish was on my line not 30 minutes later.quick measure (34") and a quick release ( she thanked me with a nice face full of cold river water) wire cutter came in handy as she had chomped down good on the front treble . After several trips out this year it wasnice to actually hold a fish , not big ...but hey my first! Tinbanger

Muskie baits cost MORE than the retriver I have . weighted body about 6" long with short lengths of chain . On small dia. nylon rope Cost about $6 Works great on wood , rocks normally can get lure off without TB

thanks Lew Will take a look , may just pick the the first ( best) looking ramp I come across. Plan to troll upstream , so if needed I can drift back to the ramp LOL. At the very least I will provide an update as to river conditions ! TB

Planning on giving the skis a shot tomorrow . Been trying for two weeks to get there but the weather wouldn't cooperate . Hopefully tomorrow should be ok , hope the winds don't blow up to bad. Preseme there is no white stuff down there as well. As far as ramps go ,planning to launch at Frenchmens creek ( as per Lew's directions) room in the boat if anyone interested ( see Hookups) tb

thanks for the reponses. definatly need to add a downspout ( should have done it this fall ) the area in question is at the base of a valley facing south east and get lots of sun whuch is adding to the melt .steep pitch on one roof as well roof is leaking ( or was , added new material to valley and patched some obvious spots this fall) new roof planned for the spring. Gutters are clean . hoping for a bit more of a melt to get the deicer in . thanks again TB
