still the fines are way to light, what happened to them taking your car. Until the laws start being enforced the way they are written things are only getting worse. Let it be known that a few people lost a lot more than $4000.00 then things will change

Paudash replied to Shloim's topic in General Discussion
took my new to me boat out for the first time Monday night, spent the first 20 mins floating around trying to get it started. Forgot how turn on the choke switch. Just floated around thinking how am going to tell my wife I just bought a lemon then I finally remembered about the choke switch and it fired right up first trips are always fun and memorable -
what a joke, second time he has been busted with no license and only a $3700.00 fine Time to set a example and fine him 100k I bet you the same $3700.00 he will be out again shortly fishing as he has no respect. Also why do they not give his name and a picture so it can be posted at every boat launch and bait shop

Was out on Dalyrimple last night as well, great night with one or two other boats. Only caught a few pike but we had a blast raising them on top waters in 10 feet of water

I live in Uxbridge and have a cottage south of Bancroft

Driving home today I saw a guy and his wife picking up a very large snapping turtle at the side of the road. I was with my wife and told her how pssed I was because the thing was most likely laying its eggs so she told me to do something about it. I spun the car around and caught up to him at the next light and told him it was illegal to pick up turtles without a permit which I have no idea if it is true or not and told him he has to return it. He apologised and said he had no idea. He turned around and took it back (I followed him to make sure he really did it) made feel really good was I within my rights to do this?

or you can fish from the docks/boat launch in Omemee, for anyone with mobility issues this would be your best bet

I stopped fishing Cooks 4-5 years ago when the average boat size leaving Creates went above 40 feet. The wake they put off takes the fun out of fishing real fast

Brought my boat home from the cottage in the fall as I wanted to do a ton of spring fishing, now the only thing I get to do is listen to my wife complain that I brought the boat home and never used it

Thanks for the input, Gas is not really a issue as the company pays most of my gas. Not a big fan of the Grands not because they are not nice but because my mother has driven them for years and loves them so if I get one I would never hear the end of it. I was looking at getting another full size truck but I do not really need another one. I drive a Santa Fa now so the ride can not be much worse.

I am thinking about buying a Jeep Wrangler. My wife thinks I'm nuts the kids think it is great. I my wife drives sierra so towing is not a issue. I drive about 40k per year all highway and I just love the looks of them. Anyone else have one or any opinions and is this my version of the mid life sport car?

Any thoughts on Canadian Health Care System?
Paudash replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
My daughter has Lime disease and because of this great system we have in Ontario I have been paying between $15000-$20000 a year after tax dollars for the past 3 years for her to be treated in the states. The Ontario system is good as long as you are not sick. We call the doctors in the states and no wait times, it is what time is good for you -
still love the look of it, first time in years I have been interested in a Ford

it was below zero for the 3 days we went without power and we did not have a generator. The only food that we lost was the milk and that was because my wife made me throw it out. What and how did any food get spoiled, my house was a great big refrigerator. I don't get it, great for Loblaws's but the Liberals are just buying votes again

as long as you clean your chimney you will be fine. Always clean it at least once a year or after every 3 cords depending on how much you burn and you will never have a issue. -
NF--1st Trip To Montreal (And Respecting The Local Culture)
Paudash replied to brw's topic in General Discussion
I have been traveling to Montreal 2-3 times a year on business for the past 20 years and always enjoyed it. This summer I went with my wife and 16 year daughter for pure pleasure for the first time and it was great. You can walk from one end of down town to the other in a hour. People are great, restaurants are fantastic. Spend some time and just walk from bar to cafe to the next bar and soak up some of the atmosphere. I am not religious at all but some of the churches were just gorgeous to walk through. Enjoy yourself -
I went out on Scugog today for the first time, stopped at the bait shop just across the causeway and found the guy working there incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Told me where to launch my boat and where to fish and we caught fish. He was just way friendlier than most and I just wanted to say thanks and let people know about this place as I have only driven by it a few thousand times and never stopped in before. Not sure why I am doing this as most every bait shop the guys are great but this guy was just a little but better than most so I think he deserves a mention and a thanks.

How do you hold a smallmouth when removing trebles
Paudash replied to manjo39's topic in General Discussion
very carefully, I have cut out more than one hock out of my thumb I find the ones between 1-1.5 lbs the worst as they thrash around the most -
3 or 4 years ago on Sturgeon Lake my son got a muskie on that was easily on 45 inches, I blew it on him as I could not get it netted for him. Every time I catch a nice fish he reminds me it not as big as the one I lost on him

NF - Toronto Police officer charged with 2nd degree murder
Paudash replied to BucktownAngler's topic in General Discussion
I agree that the cop should be charged but the kid pulled a knife on the cops so I am not sure with what. My dad always said if you pull any weapon on a cop even if you are fooling around they will shoot you. This is a tough one, I just keep going back to the fact he pulled a knife on a cop. It does not make it right what happened and two families have now been devastated by the actions of a stupid kid and a over zealous cop who should never be aloud near a gun ever again no mater what happens in the end. When this first happened I asked my 18 year old son what he thought and his only comment was what else do you expect a cop to do when you waive a knife in his face. Now what would have happened if the kid lunged at the cops and killed one of them. Then we would be asking why did they not just shoot him when they had the chance.
