  3. well we got back last night and had a great time but I wish he could have come. I am glade we did not try to bring him as he would have never been able to make it. 6 hours in the car 1 hour in the boat and 1 hour ATV plus loading and unloading it was 11 hours door to door. Good fishing as I did get a 14lb pike and another over 10lds as well. I will take him in October or maybe we can do a fly in
  4. The results are in and it is all bad. Not one but 2 breaks in the ankle, doctor does not even want him going to school for a week. Nothing more than sitting for 3 weeks. When I told the guys we decided to do another trip in October so he can go on the next trip. Man is he pissed, I am almost glad to be out of the house
  5. he is on crutches now and tomorrow I am taking him to the doctor in hopes he can get a walking cast
  6. I am leaving on a fishing trip Friday with 6 friends and our boys on Friday. We are going to a friends hunt camp 1 hour north of Bay Bay and then a 1 hour ATV ride into the bush. I have never been but from what he has told us is that we have 4 lake within a 30 min ATV ride that he has never seen anyone fish other than his family. Sounds to good to be true so it started with the 6 guys then we decided to take the boys all 14-15 years old. All my son has talked about for 4 months since we told them we were taking them. Comes home yesterday with a broken ankle. This sucks

  11. I am looking for some help for this weekend. I am planning to head out to Chandos on Saturday to target some pike but the problem is that I have never fished the lake before and I am looking for some help on anything to do with the lake or if anyone has a link to a decent map of the lake. The reason for Chandos is that it is 15 mins from my cottage and I bought a new boat last year that I can tow around easly and it is a lake that interest me.
  12. I was out Sunday in Bancroft and got one nice laker. The was fully off the the lake Sunday
  13. I am asking for some help on buying a new fish finder. What is the best bang for my money? I do most of my fishing on one lake but I do venture off to others once in a while and hope to do more or that in the future. I fish mostly bass / Pike / lake trout. I have been looking at HDS 5 but with everything I need it would be at least 1000.00 which is more than I want to spend. I have been to BPS and I find they are not much help. What I think I want is color screen / GPS and a 5 inch screen. What I want to spend in around $500.00, any suggestions or should I hold off anther year until the HDS 5 comes down in price.
  14. I have a Crestline Canadian edition, very simular boat and I run a Yamaha 40 4 stroke and it runs great. These are very light boats so a 50hp should be fine
  15. Paudash is great for lakers and splake
  16. I will be getting a craddle this week to keep in the boat for next time
  17. Went out to Sturgeon today with my 14 year old son and what a day. The weather was perfect and we figured we would try a lake we have never fished before. He started off with a 3 1/2 LM which is always a good day on its own. An hour later he yells he has another one. When I turned around I see this 40+ in ski come flying out of the water. After a good fight might of been 5 mins might have been 15 not sure but it was great watching him work this thing with 8lb test. When he got it to the side of the boat I went to net then the fun began, the net was way to small for this fish. I tried to get her from the front no luck then I tried from the back and she took off under the boat and the line got caught up and snaped. Now my question is does this still count because we did not not have the right net or the experience for a fish this big. The best part was when I got got home my wife asked if I was jealous because I have never got a fish like that before. I thought for a second and said nope but it may have been the best day fishing ever The only thing I got was a little perch
  18. I am heading out to Sturgeon tomorrow, can anyone recomend a good boat launch around 35 & 7 also and tips would be nice, it has been 20 years since I have been out on Sturgeon
  19. It looks like I am going to give Sturgeon a try tomorrow I am looking for a good boat launch around 35 & 7 Also any tips would be nice since it has been 20 plus years since I last fished it
  20. Please solve this problem as I have the same engine but it is a 2005 40hp with power trim. I just bought it a month ago from a friend, he said that the place he bought it from told him that is the only issue with the 4 stroke Yamahas is that they are not for trolling.
