Flex Rod, It is the same because if the doctors here were treating her the drugs would be covered by my work insurance but because they are US doctors they are not valid in Ontario and not accepted by Ontario pharmacies. These are common drugs that we end up buying from a CVS in the states.
-
From my situation I would much rather go with the US system but I am very lucky to be in the 50% tax bracket and could afford full heath coverage in the states if we had that system. What people do not realise is the US system is very good and affordable if you start your insurance at a young age and not in you 40's when health issues usally start. It is similar to people here being able to retire at age of 50 because they started RRSP's age 20 not 40 like the majority of people. Everyone has good and bad stories from the 2 systems but our system has failed my daughter and I have been paying over $20000.00 a year for the past 5 years that our government will not even let me claim against my taxes for the drugs she requires that are all fully available here in Canada, but we have to purchase them in states or buy them with US prescriptions from internet pharmacy's.

Sorry to say but I would much rather go with the system pay for what you use instead of the crazy tax rate we pay. As our system is you pay unreal tax rates and get horrible service, in the states if you need to see a doctor you call them and see them that day, you need to see a specialist you call them and see the next week, no referrals just pick up the phone and make an appointment. I speak from experience of having a very sick child and having her be lost in this system so I take her to the states for treatment. Our system is fine for a cut or broken bone but when you are really sick with something that is not on our medical menu then you will see how terrible it is. Yes the MRI may cost between $1000-$2500 in Canada but you need to wait 2-3 months and in the States it cost $500.00 if you want to wait a week or $1000 next day. sorry for the rant but I speak from the experience of a sick child that our system failed and continues to fail, so we are forced to seek a medical treatment in the States and have never been charged for parking at a doctors office or an hospital in the States. Also when the MRI is done in the States they ask which doctors you want it sent to in Canada or the States and then they give you the DVD that you can give to any future doctor that can be copied as well. The DVD you pick up here can only be used once and not copied.

sort of like paying $12.00 to park at the hospital for 30 minutes in order to pay $35.00 for a MRI that a specialist at another hospital ask to see. great system as long as you don't need it

Many people are missing the point, this is GTHL A hockey which is house league with a jacket. Most house leagues in the GTA are now gone. The average GTHL A team could not compete with a Peterborough House \league team
-
less than 1% of the kids that play AAA will ever cash a check from playing hockey. The only thing we are doing is teaching these kids to play men's league, why have body contact so you can brag about your kid hitting another kid. Watch the games from 40-50 years ago on TV, very little hitting and a lot slower. With the equipment they where today they move way faster and hit a lot harder and the injuries are way worse
-
very cool, TSC has this stuff on sale this week
-
what most of you do not realize is the GTHL A hockey is the house league of 20 years ago. None of these kids will ever play hockey for anything other than fun. Many kids quit at this age because of the contact. Also they are still allowing contact just no hitting

I guess I will have to make a stop tomorrow

No matter what I just get cold and never catch fish I am starting to wake up at nights from dreams about ice out laker fishing In past years I have always dealt with the winter by living in hockey rinks 4-5 days a week but now my kids of aged out and one is off to college and the other will be going next year This is how I have spent my winter so far I have finished the basement I redid my daughters room painted the entrance into the house I am now in them middle of a kitchen remodel which I hope to have done next week if my wife can ever pick the paint colours for you other non ice fishermen what do you do to make it through the winter

get a dog of any size, if the dog barks it will attract attention and the bad guys leave a few years ago we had of rash of break ins in our neighborhood so the police had a community meeting and the things they said were the following don't waste your money on alarms and cameras as the police will take at least 5 minutes to arrive so the thieves will be long gone before they arrive They will stop and get a coffee before they answer a alarm call in 20 years of being on the force he had never seen a house with a dog get robbed leave lights on and keep front of the house in clear view of the road Know your neighbours as they are your best security system
-
not sure why anyone would spend the money on a camera system? So you catch the guys on camera all well and good but now what? The police don't care and they will look at you say thanks here is the report you need to send to your insurance company for your claim As for the alarms when is the last time you went and checked out a car alarm going off?

just spent months of research on this topic and I was all over the map with these and I went over board and bought the Humminbird 899 be careful with the down imaging, you are only seeing 8 feet of the bottom in 8 in 30 feet of water look into side imaging so you get a real view

watch the warranties on these, I have found they last 2 years or 10 years not much in between lots of good information on this sight if you do a search I found an older model 3 bank charger at Canadian tire last year on clearance that came with a five year warranty, everything else I could find had 1 or 2 years
-
Why would you want the government involved to investigate? They came here and promised everyone the world and that they were going to going to reinvent the the Canadian retail market space and they failed miserably. Just like Canadian Tire did in the states in the 80's and how Tim Horton's has failed in the States over the last 10 years which forced them to sell out to Burger King. This is business and how it works, if you do not provide the goods that customers want at a time they want them at the price they are willing to pay you fail and go out of business
-
because retail has a turn over of over 40% per year, also the day of having a retail job with benefits is long gone. Time to go to school and take a trade and get a job that you can control your own future
-
I use a laptop with a broken screen, then run a HDMI cable to the TV. I also use it as my DVD player as well, talk to teenagers they always know someone selling one cheap
-
employees are going to be fine, everyone with over 1 year of service is getting 4 months pay Also Sears has said they are planning to hire 5000 ex Target employees because how well they were trained in retail as for the creditors the vast majority of them are American companies hence the reason why they failed so badly in Canada
-
please explain the bitterness. The 17000 jobs would not have existed if they did not try to set up in Canada. Also they took over leases from a bunch bankrupt Zellers store that were going unpaid so you can't hold that against them. With the 17000 jobs do you realize that 10000 of them were people that have been working there for less than 6 months and all of them less than 3 years. So do not be bitter and thank them for trying and creating a great how not to business lesson for the future.

once you learn to use charcoal correctly it only takes 20 mins to get ready I also have a true pit that I think I have only ever used once or twice, take about 2 hours to get the coals ready also a bad steak on charcoal still tastes better than a good steak on gas
