I had a goal this year to break LBS this year and I finally did it with a 6.6 lbs large. The best part was I spent 30 minutes chasing this guy and changed baits 4 or 5 times going down the shore line. He kept coming out for a peak but would not go away, just went from cover to cover. Never seen anything like it before. The best part was how clean and healthy he looked, not a mark or scare.

for a small lake Dalrymple can be nasty and I find it can turn ugly fast

the advantage of LED is they use less power so they put out off less heat. If you put a standard LCD TV in a smaller room it will keep the room very warm. For example I have a 47inch in a 10x10 and we can not close the door in the summer because of the heat. Less power means they are cheaper to operate as these larger TVs are power eaters

good to see everyone has the same issue. The one point about the wife out fishing me holds true but with my son, the stretch we caught the fish on at the end of the day I git "I told you we should have fished here"

things to remember when buying today's TV's 1)They do not last like the old ones they are now disposable and next week it will be cheaper (for the price they used to be they had to last 20 years) 2)what ever your budget is spend 40% of it on a sound system. TV is way better when you can hear it and feel it. A good sound system will make a bad TV way better than a good TV with a bad sound system 3)LCD for upstairs Plasma for the basement 4)Plasma for 50 inch or bigger 5)do not buy it from a place that shows 50 TV's side by side because they play with the colour to make some look worse to up sell you 6)best deal is Costco by far because of the warranty 2 years vs 1 year and ask anyone that has had a issue with a TV and it is almost always within the first 18 months. Also 90 day price guarantee (went back 3 on my last TV and they gave me a credit back every time with no issue) 7)do not get suckered into expensive cables, you only need a thin layer of gold not a thick layer like monster cables or the other cables they try to up sell you on. The reason you put more gold on a connector is for repeated plugging and unplugging. How many times do you take the cables off once you are set up? I have 3 LG's 32 inch LCD 6 years no issues 47 inch LCD 5 years no issues 60 inch Plasma 2 years no issues I like my TV

Yesterday we had our yearly fishing tournament on our lake. As I do every year tournament day I get myself into a tizzy and end up catching nothing worth weighing in because we waste to much time running around thinking we know what we are doing instead of just fishing to the conditions of the day. So we turned turned in a bag of 5 lbs which is pretty much a joke because I can do that most days off the dock in a hour. Now the part that really gets to me. A few of get together after the weigh-in to talk about the day and decide go out for another shot at the lake and what happens in about 20 mins 2.5 LM 1.5 LM 4.2 LM Then I get really pissed and go home

Once in a lifetime thing that you've seen in the outdoors??

A few years ago I wanted to go fishing with a buddy at the cottage, but the wife said we we had to spend some times with the kids. So what did we do, grab the kids and the dogs and went out for a boat ride. We ended up dumping the kids on a small island on the lake maybe 200 feet by 50 feet. We spent the next hour fishing all around the island while the 4 kids played on the island with 3 dogs. All was going well as we could always see see or at least hear the kids running around. Then we hear a big splash and figure the boys had had enough a tossed one of the girls in the water. We come flying around the corner and a Doe and a small fawn had jumped in and were swimming back to shore. The kids and the dogs never saw the deer. How could 4 kids be so close to 2 deer for so long and never see them or push them out sooner. -
Need Recommendations for Lake/Area of Ontario to buy a Cottage
Paudash replied to manjo39's topic in General Discussion
I like the Bancroft area, good fishing, clean water, little traffic. Best of all the prices are not that bad for what you get. You can still still get a decent cottage on a good lake for under 300k -
Lake Dalrymple Pike (and Walleye) Tourny

I am not sure if they still have it. I know I was involved in a tournament the opening weekend that was run out of the cottage resort for years but I heard it fell apart last year. I have not been in the last 4 years but I went the 10 prior. Call the resort and they should be able to help you out -
I was up in that area last week end and the Black flies were the worst I have ever seen them. The locals that we fish with were even complaining and they never complain about anything. Make sure you bring bug nets
-
also make sure you bring your ATV, tons of trails all around the lake

great lake to fish as I fish it every weekend, for steady fishing stick to some of the weedy bays or the flats where all the lakes come together and you will catch 1-3 lbs all day long. For the big girls you will have to do some hunting. Do not believe anyone that says their is pickerel, with fishing this lake most every weekend of the season for the past 10 years I have never caught or seen one. Most of the people that have had cottages on the lake say they have not caught any since the 80's. The lake trout fishing is good in the spring but this time of the year you would have to be able to get down 40 plus feet to find them.

I found a new lake that I was thinking of giving a try, I only drove by it so I really know nothing about it Tallan Lake South of Bancroft. Anyone know anything about it

Great luck with the small perch bait for bass last year large and small, The smelt works great for pike, and I can't to try that new frog Saturday

Thanks

I was in that area 2 weeks ago and had the best weekend of fishing of my life. Not sure what lake we were on because we went into the bush with some locals. We caught so many pike and pickerel that we were getting board with 2lb pickerel and 5lb pike. We caught most of our fish trolling green 4-5 inch stick baits in 5-6 feet of water. Live targets also worked great. All the locals were using pickerel harnesses good luck

I just bought a couple of ATV's and and I am looking for some trail maps if anyone could send me a link. Also if you know of some fun to get to lakes in the Bancroft area that you are willing to share that would be great
