  1. great news. Glad you got it resolved. Have you had a chance to check the card out since getting it resolved? What is your feedback? Scott
  2. My guess would be you have to select for the unit to display the Navionics card. I don't know Humminbird menus very well but typically a unit won't auto display the Navionics card. Scott
  3. Why do you sync it to your phone? It shouldn't need to be synced at all. The app uses GPS not your cellular service. The only catch is wifi only iPads do not have a built in GPS receiver so you need to buy an external GPS antenna. The 3G model does have a built GPS receiver but it does not need any cellular plan. It will work withou a SIM card in it at all. Scott
  4. Look at the new Navionics plus card. It has everything the gold card has, but also has the new sonar charts layer that has significantly more detail. You can also download whatever area you like in North America so if you happen to trailer anywhere to fish you can make sure you download that area. Scott
  5. I have been fishing the Bay of Quinte basically everyday since opener. Fishing was a little slow at first largely due to low water temps but things have steadily improved and we have been doing quite well lately. I started using the new navionics plus card and just wanted to show some pictures of the chart sets with and without the fish n chip layer activated. Here is a picture of an area of Picton Bay without the fish n chip layer activated. This would be the same level of data you have on the Gold card. If you have a Navionics Platinum plus, Hotmaps platinum, Plus or Updates Card. You can go into chart options and turn on the "fish n chip" layer. Here is what the same area looks like with the fish n chip layer turned on. You can see the significantly increased chart data. This is the same as turning on the "sonar charts" layer if you have the navionics + in app upgrade on the mobile app. Scott
  6. I can't remember is someone on here mentioned or not that the Navionics maps can now be accessed online for free by anyone. Just go to www.navionics.com Click on the webapp at the top and choose marine and lakes. Zoom in to an area and dont forget to click the little sonar charts icon. Look at the detail difference. This is the same as the Navionics + upgrade on your phone or ipad. All for FREE!!!! its awesome. Without Sonar Charts on After Sonar Charts is on Scott
  7. Do you have a smart phone? Have you tried the Navionics mobile app? You can also view all the Canadian maps for free on www.navionics.com. But the mobile app is the way to go if you can. What lakes are you looking for? Scott
  8. I will add fathoms as an option. I haven't had a lot feedback requesting fathoms which is why I didn't provide it as an option. My apologizes. Scott
  9. Hey Guys, As you guys may or may not know here in Canada we are now able to view all Canadian charts (even with the sonar charts layer) on line for free at http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp. The depth units are displayed in meters though. I was talking with Navionics today and it is an easy change for them to make the units displayed as feet. I told them I would take a few polls to get an idea of what the general fishing public wanted. Please take the 5 seconds to leave your opinion on which units you prefer when looking at charts. Thank you. Scott
