  1. by the chart from the gov. its the most up to date. 2nd post is asking for a map?
  2. It felt so good to get all the dirt off, once clean it looked so good. it was like a new reel. My only errors were, I forgot to put that little pink plastic piece back in the first go around and I over Greased. I wish i wouldnt have taken the Anti-reverse apart. it was completely by error. I didnt realize the black screw was the holding screw until it was too late. i dabbed and re-oiled the fiber washer in it and cleaned up what i could see. i didnt want to touch the barrels or springs. Put it back together and prayed it worked. it did. the only tip i have is PICTURES. They saved me. If i didnt have them, even with the exploded schematic, I dont know if I would have got it back to square one. Now that I have done 2 of them, I think I could do it without them though. Gottee, Thanks for the tips, and the pictures, the motivation and the help. Couldn't have done it without your post. Mike
  3. Just did mine a few weeks ago josh, here are some pictures. TAKE A LOT OF PICTURES. they saved me twice. there are so many pieces http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry194256
  4. okay Bill, as you know I am fairly new to the Musky Game as well a few years under my belt thats it. I use a 7' Premier (I am 6'3) and i have no problems, it touches the water sometimes but not always. For my crankbaits i have a 7'6 and bucktails i use an 8' soon to have a 7'2 and a 6'8 for jerkbaits and another 7'6 for light bucktails/top waters. if we can get out this summer try you can try any of them to see how you like them. I just picked up some Powerpro down in Mich. yesterday. $12 for 150 yrds of 100# and $11 for 150 yrds of 80#. 10" believer $5. yes $5. sorry i am off topic now. Mike
  5. So one of Gerritts response's got me thinking...he said he sat in traffic for a while. So I started thinking of my longest long weekend drive. about 5 years ago before the Moon River was complete and 69 was still 1 lane each way....it was the July 1st weekend and we stopped in Parry Sound for a bite to eat before the 4 hour drive due to traffic (or so we thought) Well as soon as we got on 69, we did not get more then a half a km from the Bowes St. Exit and we were stopped. 11 hours to Stoney Creek/Hamilton from Parry sound. I have taken 15 hours but due to car problems, but straight driving on a long weekend that was by far the worst I have ever endured and never want to do it again. So whats your longest long weekend trip? from where?
  6. I specifically avoided traffic this weekend. Went to the states instead. I understand G. Maybe hit up Valley Park with the kid(s) for the show if they are still on. Have fun if you do. Mike
  7. Way to ruin the fun G. Thanks, i have nothing now
  8. Mike, a great post to help is this... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...l=reel+cleaning I followed it and cleaned 2 reels in the last month. Here are some pics of my cleaning. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry194256 I did my Sahara about 2 weeks ago and have a few pics, not nearly as many pieces as the Stradic. It was very straight forward. I used Quantum Hot Sauce (both oil and grease and they seem both pretty stable) They will run you about $20-25 depending on where you get them. Thats for both, not each. Hope this helps, Mike
  9. What is this for? Do you need another license to put a boat in and drive in TO Harbour? So i cant just drop a boat in and fish the islands? I am confused. Help me out here.
  10. contact the manufacturer. you should be able to order directly from them. i know shimano does for sure. you can get any part of a reel directly from them.
  11. Bill compress yours into a GIF and it will reduce the size by 50% and on here you wont notice a difference other then file size.
  12. Roy you should pin this thread. our banner is 9 pix too high. i will change it. width and file size are fine though
  13. ummm why the bathroom, why not any dark room?
  14. Nice Job Pete....just make your pic in your signature a little smaller. ITS HUGE! But nice pics.
  15. Read the manual. Once you have everything changed its amazing how much more accurate the higher end units are. its like night and day. if you want it just for depth then you are fine but if you want to maximize your purchase read the manual and see all of the settings you can toggle. Do some research on the net for best setups and you will see. A lot of guys on here should be able to help you out. "Electrical Noise" is a huge issue and makes so much of a difference....so many features, use them all. Dont stick with factory settings.
  16. Enforcement is the biggest issue. I get pulled over by OPP with a CO on board all the time in the Severn Area. They are so concerned with having the "RIGHT TYPE" of flares on board and that the horn works and a safety kit on board yet they never ask for our fishing license even if they pull us over while trolling. Even when you offer it, they dont care, they say "dont worry about it" but if you dont have 6 flares and only 5 they will ticket you and the CO is along for the ride. I dont even know the point of my response other then i agree MNR needs to put more pressure on anglers and enforce the rules they set out. Not the OPP making sure we dont break down 30 feet from cottage filled shorelines and shoot a flare gun in the air so 180 cottages can see we broke down, or maybe push the horn just in case a cottager cant hear us from 30 feet away, or better yet make sure safety kit is there with rope included so we can toss it to shore and pull ourselves in. Sorry this makes no sense....i know i am just perturbed
  17. Jeez TJ I am jealous. I love the laptop pic. Had to throw that in there eh?haha cant stay away. What a beautiful place.
  18. Nice Job, sounds like you guys had a great time. Well done.
  19. yeah i have on older St. Croix Premier 7' Heavy and its work with that. cast it for an hour and you really feel it. it is so heavy. but worth it.
  20. Hey Rossco, Stick with the Regular bulldog from shore, the Magnums (aka pounders) are a hassle to throw if you are only on shore. The 6 oz are more then fine. You can pick them up on sale usually for about $12. As for colors, the kawarthas it seems they all work there depending on time of year. The Spring Dawgs are easy casting. If from shore you may want to consider shallow dawgs. They have a distinctive hole int he fin to tell they are shallow dawgs. Hope this helps. By the way, the Gold fleck Bulldawg has worked for me on Lower Buckhorn and the Black body orange tail on Pigeon. Hope this helps, Mike
