  1. Took this pic some years back while up the Cheepas River with Bren. Old Report... http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12010 The Cheepas always had alot of Sandhills along it's river banks. Noisy bird... like a Blue Heron but just more vocal. Not sure about eating them Shane??? The elders in Attawapiskat would, but the younger people... nope. They`d say "stringy" and that was coming from a family of boys with the last name Bird.
  2. Right on Will. My buddy found a snowy owl once with a broken wing. I wished he'd shown it the same kindness... although we were in no part of the world to easily get it Xray'd and checked into a bird sanctuary. Used to always see a redtail above the Hancock Rapids travelling on the Moose River in autumn. Love the birds of prey man! Cool what ya did!
  3. Attaboy!!! That's a big and tough fish to get in that quick actually. It was surely no worse for wear. The odd sturgeon is bound to happen into a hook now and again and nice to see ya showed this great and threatened fish from these parts some decency with a quick landing and release. If that tug on the line didn't get your juices flowing for another eh!?!? More 11+ footers caught out in the Fraser this year than in recent years. Can you imagine? Great fish!
  4. It was rumored this years colors wouldn't be up to standard due to basically a summer od drought. Driving today in the Lanark Highlands I'll beg to differ. But that said, probaby the best I have ever seen for fall colors is where Paul was out taking pictures today. Hard to beat the Gatineau. Lots of maples in both places, and they make the best colors. Nice shot dood!
  5. Photoshopped!!! Joking Bennie! You're a slayer of fish in a world full of leviathans. Props dood! Another day at the office for ya!?!?!?
  6. Those inland browns can be about the most finicky little buggahs! Nice job man.. on both the browns and bows. Great closer.
  7. I'll chew on them specks, you can eat the grouse. Deal!
  8. Muskie Guru Lew does it again! Solid couple days young feller! Great skis!
  9. Later season salmon slammin! Rubin even gets lucky in the end. A tale of calm seas adventure. Good show!
  10. Rockin' Jacques! Good luck. That stand really stands out as wicked. Hunting in luxury!
  11. Thanks Guys. If weather is looking too nasty down there Bob I'll likely save the gas and make some Quinte day trips during that time. Great thing is, if it works out or doesn't, I'm still young. lol.
  12. Thanks much.
  13. Been over there to Pulaski about 4 times now but always midweek and later season for the bows. Yes, it's busy enough, but not as bad as that and I've seen nearly the same on the Ganny. You can find space if you're willing to walk or driftboat to it. The plunking approach is a kinda messed up though.
  14. With an 8 day stretch off work nearing end of October I've been considering a road trip out of Ottawa if I can scrounge up a car and boat mate to come along. It's great Quinte time to have for then, but with the recent reports from LSC and some solid ones last year too, a fish more rare to the Lund might be a worthy chase. LSC seems to have different options for how to fish muskie, and good numbers of fish too. Not fully sure if I'll go and may even look harder at options on the Ottawa or Larry, but again, been thinking about it as an option. So I guess I'm curious about launch info, reputable and safe places to stay with the boat nearer to the launches, and weather to watch out for making for poor or blown fishing, and a few lure patterns wouldn't hurt either. Links to local sites for info, reports, PM's, anything welcome. Thanks. Bunk.
  15. Fresh and healthy looking salmon. Nice catch!
  16. Historically haven't had the easiest opportunity to meet up with people from the boards being that I was rather far away... but that said, over the years the number of folks from here and elsewhere I have met and fished with is really quite remarkable. OFC'ers I have had the pleasure to fish with have been a rock solid 100% awesome bunch.
  17. Sorry to hear about the recent road bumps Simon. Keep your chin up dood and fish often.
  18. Looking for a northern getaway, would consider Big Lake Abitibi. Remote and loaded with eyes, pike, whitefish and ling. Not sure what services are available at this time though.
  19. Northern park closures are a shame for northern tourism, those local economies, summer students and the dwindling population of people who stay more connected with the outdoors just by having easier and organized accesses. Gov Sucks!
  20. Maybe they could somehow swing it that the javelin or archery gets incorporated into fishing for carp. Just to make it interesting!?!
  21. Sam, HMV, CD Warehouse and in my teens Shake Records were all like a second home once getting a license to drive and a paycheck. Funny but, was in CD Warehouse in both Orleans and Nepean in the past month... later told friends this at a party and they laughed at me! "Who buys CD's now?" Apparently....... RIP Sam and days gone by...
  22. Sounds like a great plan and time away to me Rob. Good luck man! Take lotsa pics and do it up good here when ya get back.
  23. Thanks Mikey!!! Fish more than should admit. I'll average two days a week by years end... but sometimes it comes in lump sums. Like May... when it was 18 days without a trip or time off work. And then there were the trips. Could be smokin' crack though...
