Thanks Guys. If weather is looking too nasty down there Bob I'll likely save the gas and make some Quinte day trips during that time. Great thing is, if it works out or doesn't, I'm still young. lol.

Thanks much.

Been over there to Pulaski about 4 times now but always midweek and later season for the bows. Yes, it's busy enough, but not as bad as that and I've seen nearly the same on the Ganny. You can find space if you're willing to walk or driftboat to it. The plunking approach is a kinda messed up though.

With an 8 day stretch off work nearing end of October I've been considering a road trip out of Ottawa if I can scrounge up a car and boat mate to come along. It's great Quinte time to have for then, but with the recent reports from LSC and some solid ones last year too, a fish more rare to the Lund might be a worthy chase. LSC seems to have different options for how to fish muskie, and good numbers of fish too. Not fully sure if I'll go and may even look harder at options on the Ottawa or Larry, but again, been thinking about it as an option. So I guess I'm curious about launch info, reputable and safe places to stay with the boat nearer to the launches, and weather to watch out for making for poor or blown fishing, and a few lure patterns wouldn't hurt either. Links to local sites for info, reports, PM's, anything welcome. Thanks. Bunk.

Fresh and healthy looking salmon. Nice catch!

Historically haven't had the easiest opportunity to meet up with people from the boards being that I was rather far away... but that said, over the years the number of folks from here and elsewhere I have met and fished with is really quite remarkable. OFC'ers I have had the pleasure to fish with have been a rock solid 100% awesome bunch.

Sorry to hear about the recent road bumps Simon. Keep your chin up dood and fish often. -
Looking for a northern getaway, would consider Big Lake Abitibi. Remote and loaded with eyes, pike, whitefish and ling. Not sure what services are available at this time though.

Northern park closures are a shame for northern tourism, those local economies, summer students and the dwindling population of people who stay more connected with the outdoors just by having easier and organized accesses. Gov Sucks!

Maybe they could somehow swing it that the javelin or archery gets incorporated into fishing for carp. Just to make it interesting!?!

Sam, HMV, CD Warehouse and in my teens Shake Records were all like a second home once getting a license to drive and a paycheck. Funny but, was in CD Warehouse in both Orleans and Nepean in the past month... later told friends this at a party and they laughed at me! "Who buys CD's now?" Apparently....... RIP Sam and days gone by...

Sounds like a great plan and time away to me Rob. Good luck man! Take lotsa pics and do it up good here when ya get back.

Thanks Mikey!!! Fish more than should admit. I'll average two days a week by years end... but sometimes it comes in lump sums. Like May... when it was 18 days without a trip or time off work. And then there were the trips. Could be smokin' crack though...

I see a big fish at the moment... and am blind to the rest. You're having a great muskie season man!!! -
Choosing to stand up, and alone, against a few controlling fishing bullies I've taken some personal beatings this year... Put alot of thought, time and heart into supporting a friend and fishing partner through cancer too... But otherwise, winter was short yet good fishing, spring was great, summer has been excellent, and the future now holds even better possibilities to fish abroad, alongside Brenda more, and hopefully with other friends who keep it real. It's taken just 3 years since moving home to "The Valley," but Bren and I are pretty sure we've landed on solid ground now. Without a lifetime of fishing the area as well, the opportunities and learning I have had for fishing in all seasons here, I feel I can take some pride in. We're all quite lucky as anglers to live pretty much anywhere in Ontario, because the experiences to be had seem endless. It's funny this question came up, because while fishing today it was on the mind. Today's outing on the water though... tough go on the smallies, only a few and called it early.

Whatever Happen To The Thrill Of Fighting A Fish For Sometime?
Moosebunk replied to bassfighter's topic in General Discussion
Don't know if I understand half of bassfighter's points but will say this... In some respects I too don't always get it. I mean, having to always rush a fish to the boat, or even have that mentality that one must do so. There's many times, species and variables that make it sensible to just get a fish in the boat quick. But, there's times too that one could easily allow lighter gear and longer play time when a fish is on the line. And yes, it is enjoyably sporting to do that when and if you want, and no it doesn't always mean a fish is going to die. -
Quality Ron. In fact, some of the best muskie fishing I've seen posted. Wicked fish dood!

Caught this earlier and thought... SPOT ON !!! That was a great read, thanks!

Right On PAB!!! Solid ski and it looks like a scenic place to fish 'em!

Uni to Uni for pretty much every connection. If the leader is a really thick diameter then an albright.

Have you ever used these lures before?
Moosebunk replied to Lip-ripper's topic in General Discussion
I thought the same at first... but thinking about it more, Snidley did point out that they may be more suited to salmon fishing, possibly more West Coast. The moving lure and some river current combined would like give lots of resistance to spin a small french blade..? Anyways, cool lure. Mepps rule!!! -
Karma... it is a three way street correct?

Not a huge fan of cold fronts overall, but will say that in the past there have been some days that the really BIG fish have come first day/hours of that cold front hitting. Lakers through the ice, bigger spring walleye and specks many times over seem to be good cold front fish for me. Pike and bass, not generally. What to do... fish as usual and/or slow down the same techniques you have confidence in. Adding some live bait helps too.
