  1. Unfortunately they got finicky today... and I was thinking of James and Brian. lol.
  2. Live 35 minutes outside of Ottawa and that's still too close. The GTA or Ottawa Valley is surely is like anywhere urban and that's no place to be really. Good for you for making the move, Timmins ain't all that bad a choice either. Pretty country any direction on the compass.
  3. Ice fishing and eating Auroras... that is some weirdly epic stuff Dana. lol.
  4. Beautifully said Cliff. Best to you with whatever comes next in life.
  5. That Bravo is a thing of beauty... the windburnt mug, not so much. lol. jk. Chris Brock! You rock!!!
  6. Totally legit. I've been told of these 72 inch pike that would have to be approximately 150 pounds. Only certain stronger kids can one arm EAP 'em for photos though... usually after they put the beast down with a pistol.
  7. Recently found whiteys in solid numbers up here, have no Meegs though. They're taking the spoon for now but if they get finicky I'll end up remembering this report Brian. Solid stuff dood!
  8. That was a surprise opening this post. lol Neat stuff Simon. Cool pics too.
  9. Ohhhh me likey! Great bow. Get's a guy jonzing just a little for some of that steel love.
  10. Just some great eyes ya'll are pulling out of there this season. Nice!
  11. Not this past weekend but last week. Overall the reports for Eastern Ontario this season have been few, likely due to ice or the perception that ice may be bad. But before last weekend I was out for my first two days of this ice fishing season and the first was OK for lakers, the second was great whitey fishing. This Sunday, meh! And Monday, blah!
  12. Have caught so few bows ice fishing but the one's I have caught on inland lakes, jiggin' a small 1/4 Krocodile spoon in orange/yellow with browny red dots and a single minnow or worm. Weird...
  13. Don't think I remember EVER hearing or reading of fishing nearly that good on the Nip. Especially over just a few hours. Great catching!
  14. Darlin' specks JoeyT. And lucky to have that good snow.
  15. Thoroughly enjoyed dood! Mint family fun. And one hellzuva snowman too.
  16. Add Brock to a days fishing and you've got instant fun. Looks like a good time for all.
  17. Sorry to read this John. I'm through Yellowknife on Tuesday and at the airport for a couple early evening hours if you at all feel the need to visit over a coffee. Also, not having checked other airlines, I do know YK to Ottawa has a direct with return for $850 via AirNorth. Don't know if that's good or not, but I could likely help you out with accoms if having to go thru Ottawa at all. You will do what you must, all know that. Best wishes.
  18. Great way to spend a day. Envy here dood. Nice speckins!
  19. Feel totally behind in planning anything for summer but with that said, March travel is looking busy for big lakers with maybe some billfish too.
  20. Proud Papa again. Congrats Rick!
  21. A number of local lads up here in Kugaaruk have offered to take me ice fishing if I come back in June/July. Asked why not now and told it's too cold and the ice is 10 feet thick. They say that while I notice children are still outside playing on the weekends at 3:00am and nearly -50C with the windchill. Anyways, hopefully things turn around for you Mitch. A piece of your livelihood at stake with winter conditions and no winter happening, doesn't make life any easier.
  22. WOW!!! WTG Peggy. Kickin' John's butt and catching the big fish I bet feels just soooo good. Fine laker.
  23. Beauty John. WTG!!! It's been tropical down south there in Yellowknife this year. lol. Don't blame ya one bit for taking full advantage. Wouldn't be right not to. Get out there and do it again. Kugaaruk, NU + Clear -35°C FEELS LIKE -52 Could El Niño be gaining a second wind? Our expert explains, her
  24. Very cool to see such great fishing from your neck of the woods. A tonne of awesome walleye. Well done dood!
