I started out with a marintech maxim video and still use it. I would like to update into a sonar program that would run on a laptop but I can only find one and my old laptop won't run it so I'm going to have to study up and see whats out there. I had been checking out navman because of the fuel sensor.

I hear ya misfish, I looked at a glass boat that was ruined from sitting on a roller trailer. Every roller had dented the hull. I think if your going to leave a boat out of the water for a long time it would be best to put it on blocks.

Check out your local Power and sail Squadron, http://port-dover.cps-ecp.org/ There's probably someone close by that could look at it for you. The Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons have a new program with Transport Ca. where they will send a person to check your boat for all the necessary safety gear, sort of like a safety check, and you get a certificate to stick on the boat. It gives those who aren't sure what they need an option other than a ticket from the cops and its free. When your ready to put it in the water give them a call and they can tell you what you need to do with the trailer. I'm sure if you give their contact guy a call he can get someone to help you out. It looks like the bunks are set high on the front for some reason, probably couldn't get far enough into the water to float the boat so the bunks were raised to make it easier to slide off.

Small person, big fish? nahhh theres a giveaway. The fish is too well proportioned, it should be noticeably full of eggs at that time of year.

Best investment you can make.

No I didn't take the coarse, and I know your not supposed to stalk turkey but I got a surprise for you, People do it anyway! One guy had his back to a big tree and listened to the turkey come from the opposite side, when he figured it was close he swung around the tree and there was his next door neighbor looking down his gun barrel at him. A group of about 10 was talking one night and came up with 3 similar stories, mind you this was when turkey's were new to us and hopefully they're getting better but some guys won't learn till it happens to them.
-
This happens a lot with turkey hunters that have mastered the art of turkey calling. Sooner or later someone gets convinced thats a turkey and sneaks up on them.

I got one of those "wife said she'd leave me if I go hunting, I'm sure going to miss her "shirts .My buddy's wife made him give it to me!

I knew a guy that had the same thing happen, the steering cable broke on a brand new boat and he fell from the fly bridge into the back of the boat, He survived the accident but it was these injuries that eventually done him in.

When you put in those high seats it raises the centre of gravity, as the boat tips with the centre of gravity higher it moves out to the side faster and if it passes over the centre of buoyancy you can guess whats going to happen.

THe MNR would know that the first change of gov. would put the $ into general rev. and they would be stuck holding the bag. THe mnr makes millions now that goes to gen rev.

Why just fishing? Lets license golfing, There should be all kinds of cash to be made if the gov. charged golfers $50 ea to go to municipalities. It could be passed of as a safety thing, don't want anyone hit with a golf ball, all monies to go back into rain making research or some other Bull excuse. This is the answer to Torontos financial problems. Then we can move on to skiing, maybe have a test with a section for water skiing. All jokes aside I think the biggest threat to the fisheries right now is little curly light bulbs, my sixth sense sees disaster on the horizon.
-
Trash the license we have now and the CO's can go do some real work and stop wasting time checking for licenses.
-
And who is going to give the exam? When Gov. legislated the need for a boating license no gov agency wanted to do it so it was farmed out to the private sector and became an operators card and cash cow for all kinds of shady characters. The oversight has been passed around from coast guard to trans Ca. and they let the examiners stretch the rules in an effort to get everyone licensed and when everyone needs it in 09 talk is it will probably be dropped anyway.

I don't think there is one, like the devil says you have to factor in currents. I usually check the lure action at the side of the boat, some spoons I have to speed up a bit and some fish sticks won't track well going fast. Sometimes take it up as fast as 6. I had a guy tell me the current at salmon point would tie his riggers in a knot if he went too slow.

My cousin takes me up for first and only plane ride, we get in the thing and I notice the painted over OPP on the old thing, but no worries. He starts it up and it reminds me of a 30 year old toyota but no worries, off we go. We are flying around the county and hear a girl call into Trenton requesting permission to land. Trenton replies "we are a military base closed to the public" She says in the most impressive coolest voice "But we're on fire" So we carry on , take a few pictures of the homestead and go to land in Picton. Well we seem to be coming down awfully fast but what do I know about flying...holly poop we seem to be coming down fast.....you should start to worry when your pilot says AWWW F#$#@% about 50' from the ground.

The guys are right, you want to move it ahead 2" and support the transom.

I'd like to see C+R banned for everything but carp and mudcats or at least banned from warm waters in august. If your going to throw it back the only difference is a carp will give you a better fight than an eye or trout and you can't hurt them with a club.

I called Al and he said if you put 3,000 boats in the water it will raise the water level to disastrous levels so everyone should stay on shore, except me and Al of coarse.

Who's coming to the Bay of Quinte for opener?
POLLIWOGG replied to duber's topic in General Discussion
I slept on the boat one year....Figure we went about 3 miles -
The theory that you need lots of huge spawners hasn't produced for Quinte so I would think its time to look at habitat. It can't help the food supply for the local population to have schools of 12lbers move in like locus every year so I 'd like to see them take out about half of them out and maybe we will have eyes in the bay all year again. Quinte bounced back in 75 without a huge spawning population, you don't need them.

"Disaster " if its your corn field.

Attempt to Have a Gas Boycott on April 1
POLLIWOGG replied to carp-starter's topic in General Discussion
You'd have to ask around but I think the truckers did it in the 70's and it worked.
