  1. Good luck Jack all my best to you. Be sure to give us an update after the surgery.
  2. The game of hockey is picking up interest here in South-Central PA. A number of the local high schools are fielding teams. They just built a very nice ice skating rink about 13 miles from where I live. It's good to see kids getting involved in sporting events for learning to work together, sportsmanship, and a bit of competition (if applied in the proper extent and context). I know I'd break something if I tried that.
  3. Welcome back Mr. Bond. I'm sure you were out saving the world since you were last on here ... THANK YOU. I know we have a couple other members on the board from over your way. May be pretty neat if you all could hook up sometime.
  4. Very impressive fish there TMH, congrats on them both. Truely is impressive ... new member and posting pics of those two monsters. You have the envy of many and welcome aboad. Looking forward to seeing a few more pics like that coming along in 2008. Maybe someday, I'll join that 50" club. I'd love to make the trip up to the Ottawa for some musky action. I keep talking about it, but never seem to do it. My loss of course.
  5. You guys still have Robins up there ? During the winter, I never see any around here. I'm always anxious to see the first one as Spring is just around the corner. Interesting.
  6. Welcome to the board Andrew. Good to see folks signing up.
  7. Good deal Rick. At least he is home and in familiar surroundings. He may get used to being waited on hand and foot ... even carried out to do his business. He may get to like that. Glad to see he's starting the healing process and don't be too quick on those slippery hardwood floors. We don't want any slips.
  8. So I'm not the only one loves Mr. Bean. My wife and I went to see his new moving a little while back and she laughed the whole way home. You've really got to have talent ... to act the stupid. I'm hoping he'll make another movie. Maybe ... Mr. Bean goes fishing.
  9. Merry Christmas indeed Shelly. Congratulations and it looks like everyone is doing great.
  10. Good deal Rick. Been hanging out waiting for an update. Although the recovery time will be extended, it sure sounds like everything will be fine in the long run. Developing arthristis is a concern I'll have for my girl following her surgery in a couple weeks. Good to see you made it through the day as well.
  11. Hmmmmm 1972. I would have been entering the 7th Grade. Delivering the local paper for a handful of bucks a months and would have lost contact with my elementary school sweetie upon junior high.
  12. That's a very respectable pike at any time. Congrats.
  13. With my luck ... I'll take anything that bites, big or small.
  14. My best for Jack today .... please do keep us posted. You must have thought long and hard about responding to that post ... you handled it better than I would have. Good to see you keeping the highest standards for this site. Give Jack an ear scratch for me too.
  15. You're 3rd shot there really shows the majesty of these birds. Great shots.
  16. Merry CHIRSTmas John. I too have not met all that many from this board, but I am very thankful for those that I have. Great bunch of friends on here. Merry CHRISTmas and a great New Year.
  17. Let us know how Jack makes out. My own girl is heading for something very similar on January 8. I do so share you're concerns and worry. It can be a nerve racking time, but we'll get through it and our family pets will be back running around and lifting our spirits in no time.
  18. Well Cliff ... that is a very good reason for "boxing" day.
  19. Santa is always good to me. 1). Very nice CD player for my den. 2). Navionics Hotmaps Premium Canada 2007. 3). New Fishing net - for the smaller ones. (As if I ever catch a 'big' one). 4). Loon lamp for our living room. (should look great once I get it together). Lots of other nice little things.
  20. Congrats on beating it Gary. Merry Christmas to ya
  21. Our days off depend on when Christmas falls. With Christmas being on a Tuesday, we were given both Monday and Tuesday off. Taking last Friday as my final vacation day, I ended up with a 5 day week-end. Cool beans.
  22. So ... you only get half the birthday presents or half the Christmas gifts. Bummer. Hope you have a great one.
  23. Rick, I can certain feel for what you are going through right now. Situations like this are almost as tough on the masters as it is our companions. Kudos for you for doing whatever you can. I just learned this week that my own fishing partner (in my avatar) has a torn ACL and is hobbling around. Trip to the local vet and some X-rays and exam showed the problem. Our vet said he could do the surgery, but that I would have better results to take her about an hour away to a surgeon who is much more experienced. I do thank my vet for such honesty. We also took X-rays of the hips and there is only mild changes, so the hips are still in good shape. This also is good news. I contacted this other VET and was fortunate to get in January 8 for surgery. It's gonna cost me about $2,000 give or take, for this surgery. With her hips still in good shape, there was no question as to whether to put down this much money or not. She's got too many fishing trips left in her - she's looking forward to Lakair this coming June. My best to Jack and hope the surgery goes well and Jack will be back on his feet in good time. If you would, please keep us updated on Jack's progress. I, for one, am very interested to hear what we may also have to go through following the surgery and recovery.
  24. A very Merry Christmas to you Lew and to all the brothers and sisters on OFC.
  25. Merry Christmas to you Kelvin. Thanks again for the boat rides this past June ... really had a great time.
