  1. Awesome report Mr. Bunker and a great read.
  2. I heard that when I was up that way in September. A couple of the camp owners I talked to are certainly opposed to the dump and I can't blame them. The Canadian Shield is some beautiful country that I have come to love. Can't imagine a big garbage dump right in the middle of it and all that runoff into those pristine waters.
  3. Let's see ... to name a few. 1). Spare plugs 2). Spare Fuses 3). Black Electrical Tape 4). Adjustable Wrech 5). Couple screw-drivers 6). Copy of Owner and insurance papers.
  4. 2005 Tracker Targa V17 WT. Includes our two girls.
  5. Some really great shots there. Thanks for posting.
  6. Congrats Jacques ... Sure is a great feeling to get your first one. Now comes the challenge - you'll need to improve on that and a new "personal best" My hat's off to you ! It's been two years since my first one Lew. I did raise 4 on my most recent trip. I sure hope it comes easier. If you say so ... I shall believe.
  7. A magnificant fish in anyone's book. Congrats to the angler.
  8. I'll vote for either of the first two. Great job in capturing the shots.
  9. Those are indeed some great color shots. Looks like all the colors blen in very nicely.
  10. Well ... my neighbor and I went out to a local reservoir up in the mountains this morning. Just had a front move through yesterday and overnight. The reservoir allows electric motors only. With winds, white caps, and only a trolling motor to use ... we gave up after a few hours. Not hits, not bites, no nothin ..... just getting blown around. Had a good time chatting and passing the time. Gonna give it another go here before long.
  11. Welcome aboard Scott. Sounds like a great woman you got there ... wanting you to take off for the week-end. Ain't nothing wrong with that. As a matter of fact, my very own is sending me off Saturday for a day of fishing. Sure hope I do better this time, than I did a couple weeks ago. SKUNK CITY !!!
  12. Looks like one of the Canadian Mosquitos. Dang things bite hard. (No offense my friends .. none intended)
  13. While up on the French in September, we stopped by Lakair one afternoon for a visit with Kevin and Leslie. The bite was off and Kevin said he caught a couple nice pike using the Suick along the rocks of the store lines. So, having a couple myself, we gave them a shot. Caught one pike, not of great size, but with our luck, we'd take anything. Last year, my wife threw one into the shore line and something of nice size went after it, just as it hit the water. Unfortunately, the fish missed the bait and never to be seen again. Definitely a bait that I will be spending more time with for next year's trips.
  14. Welcome to teh board folks.
  15. Man ... that is one sweeeet fish. Congrats on the win.
  16. I hate you guys. All that musky action makes me sick. That truely would be the trip of a lifetime and there is good reason for those smiles that run from ear to ear. Great job guys and thanks for sharing your adventure. Simply amazing.
  17. This may end up being a problem with software versions. Saving to the MMC from the LCX 28C, the default is version 3. When I loaded that into MapCreate ... it did not work. So I went back to the boat and saved my user data as version 2 and was able to successfully load the user data in MapCreate. I have an E-mail into LEI (MapCreate) to see if they have any ideas.
  18. Not on the LCX-25. I changed them within MapCreate. I didn't see in the manual where, on the LCX-25 that you can change an existing Waypoint .. to an ICON. I guess I could have deleted the Waypoints and manually entered the coordinates for the ICON. Thought it may be easier doing this on my PC
  19. On my recent trip to the French, I did some playing around with my new LCX 28C in creating Waypoints and Trails. Ok - Here's what I can't get figured out. 1). Some of the Waypoints I created in the LCX 28C - I wanted to change to ICONS. 2). When I came home, I copy the .usr file from the MMC card onto my hard-drive into the User Data folder used by MapCreate. 3). I renamed the file so that it is specific to the area I was fishing. ( I have other GPS data files as well). 4). Checked the coordinates of each waypoint, wrote them down, then deleted those waypoints. I then manually entered each ICON with the proper coordinates. 5). I saved this file to the MMC and to my hard-drive. 6). When I load the .usr file in MAPCREATE, the ICONS are showing. I can load the data file from both my PC and from the MMC card and all my ICONS are showing in the proper location and the symbols that I had selected to use. This tells me that I have the files in sync with what I expect to be on there. 7). But, when I load the MMC into my Lowrance H2O or the LCX 28C ... it still shows my WAYPOINTS (Not the ICONS). I did rename the .usr data file and I am selecting that one on both of these units to "LOAD" the data. Any ideas why the file shows my ICONS in MAPCREATE, but is still showing them as WAYPOINTS on my two GPS units ? Although I am selecting the proper data file, what displays on both units appears to be the original file - and not my updates.
  20. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Congrats.
  21. Skocking to say the least. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family HH.
  22. Everyone is catching a musky but me ..... Congrats to ya ... great to see all the catches. I'm enjoying all the pics everyone is putting up.
  23. Hey Tom ... my congrats to Mike on his win. I'll bet I raised the same ones you did. I thought Friday morning had some ideal conditions ... but was not to be. Already booked for Wolseley next September and we'll give it a another whirl. With the new unit in the boat, I can keep exploring new areas. Sure was great meeting you guys as well. I'd love to be the net man for my wife's first ... someday it will happen. Maybe Lakair GTG 2008 ... could be ? Part of this trip was some experimentation. A few folks were raising fish on top water, which I really don't use all that often. When I did, it was typically in the early morning / late evening on shallow weed-beds. Here, we had a combo of structure (rocks-weeds-near deep water) and sometime more of a chop on the water. Yup - had one strike. In addition, I have a couple glide baits, but never really used them that much. I also tried those in these same spots - caught one pike and raised a ski. Still working on the right lure / structure / presentation combination. Need to build a little more confidence in baits other than spinners/bucktails. Just listening to what some of you other friends were doing, helped me learn a little more. I am thankful for that.
  24. Great to see you were doing your home-work and didn't jump right in on that one.
  25. Very nice size on that 43. Looks like she's got some girth about her. Congrats on the skis.
