Sweet catch there Bob. Welcome to OFC.

Most of us will never know what these men and women went through on the front lines and this is certainly a wonderful tribute to your father. Makes us all pause and think of those who served and did so with the highest degree of honor. Next time you see a veteran ... give them a handshake and a big thanks. We may not be where we are today without their sacrifice.

Ah ... one big happy family with one looking out for another. Gotta love it - that's why I like it here.

Mr. Twister. My wife and I visit Rideau Ferry every July and have for the past 8-9 years, primarily for bass (Maple Crest Motel and Cabins). The camp owner knows I make trips to the French each year for musky. He keeps saying there are musky in the Rideau and that I don't have to drive all the way to the French. He keeps telling me I need to take some time and try for some skis on the Rideau. Unfortunately, there aren't any in the area that we visit - that I know of. Looks like I'll need to do a bit of homework and just see where these girls live and give it a shot some time. Won't be up in July this year, due to a change in plans, but maybe in September. That is one very nice ski and my hat's off to you.

The fishing was great ... it was the catching that was much less than desired. I had 4 weeks total north of the border this year and the numbers of fish caught was way down from prior years. Rideau in July is typically really good bass fishing wish some very nice buckets caught each year. This year, I was up for a week and it was not until Thursday (in advance of a cold front) did I land a couple nice fish. My trips to the French this year netted no skis and the largest pike was only 27". Our final two weeks on the French in September netted me a total of 8 fish and one 1 for my better half. I did manage 4 musky follows in those two weeks, but no takers. What a thrill of seeing one attack a top water .... too bad she missed the bait and never to be seen again. The highlight of this year was making it up to the Lakair GTG for the first time. Met a lot of OFC'rs, made a lot of friends, and looking forward to next year. With the help of Muskystudd, I did catch my first ever Walleye. So that was pretty cool, So, the fishing was great as I was able to be out on the water with my wife and many new friends. The catching, as had been said before, is simply a bonus. This was a great year for what was able to do and the friends I met. Give this year an A+.

Pretty Dang nice there Musky66. I've used the Suicks before, but never knew there was a method to 'troll' with them. Nice ski.

Great report and pics Wayne. Looks like truely die-hard conditions out on the bay ... or maybe gettin' close. Good to see you guys getting out together ... fish or no fish. -
I must be one of Lew's fishing buds. What Lew is using is exactly what I have on my musky rods. 80# PP and the leaders. I am using a 2 foot leader for casting and a 3 foot leader for trolling. Actually I had purchased them from board member 'Eh' a couple years ago and their still going strong.

Garret: My wife has that Restless Leg Syndrone and drives me nuts some times. The Dr. had put her on a medication called Neurotin (spelling ?). Not sure if that is available in Canada or not, but while she was taking this medication, it did help to relax her and calm down the bed shaking. Seems like if she can get herself relaxed, it helps. She also heard of placing a bar of soap under the sheets, down around your feet. Several people I know of swear by this. Never tried it, but may be worth a try. Good idea to get things checked out and catch any possible problems before they get any worse. Best of luck to ya.

A Little thanks to a fellow Board Member ccmt Canada!

Beautiful job there Mike. I'm sure the customers will enjoy that for years to come. -
Very Very nice fish. Never seen one of lone slender toothy bass before. Now I know. Probably goes along the lines of Walleye fisherman catching musky. (Congrats on the very nice pike Cranks).

Amazing and such high quality pics Brandon.

MUST .......... RESIST ........... TEMPTATION. NAH (That would be great)

That sure is something the way things work out. Too often we sit back just thinking about someone and, by the time we do something about it, it's too late. Things like this happen within our own family and close circle of friends. Too often we hear "I wish I had ......". I'll bet many of us are in that boat once in a while and myself included. Good of you to share this story and get us all to thinking. Good post Lew.

Pretty neat action there Glen. Obviously the cool weather hasn't made it down to you yet

Too dang bad I live so far away, would love to be a part of some of these offers and the action. Sounds like ya all had a great time anyway. Thanks for sharing and the pics ... pretty cool.

Good deal. Hope this gives you a lot of relief. I also suffer from back problems, so I can kinda guess what you've been going through. Had the injection series myself a little while back. My best to ya.

Attaboy guys. A little business and a whole lot of fishing - a great balance.
