  1. What is the difference between AWD and 4x4 vehicles ? Not having one yet but considering getting one I never really understood which better for traction, handling and towing. I tow around 2000 to 3000 lbs. Thanks for your reply.
  2. Nice pictures. Good luck hauling materials. Will your cabin be finished on the inside this year or next? Are you using drywall or wood paneling on the inside walls?
  3. A lot of sickness around, I had it too and finally got the flu shot for the first time. Your cabin looks good! Does the snow side off the roof?
  4. Some people cant handle the extra stress of driving in traffic lose their patience and do stupid things. The risk they take could kill them and other innocent drivers. I see it all the time driving in traffic in the GTA.
  5. There is a lot of pressure on truck drivers, it is not the good job it used to be.
  6. A lot of people do not get snow tires thinking all season tires are good enough. All season tires are not good in winter conditions and I have seen many vehicles loose control. AWD and 4x4 still need snows for braking control. Trucks do not to have snow tires, keep your distance from them on the hwy.
  7. I and wife are retired have 2 vehicles switch to CAA insurance and saved $1100 a year.
  8. A bank draft maybe safer. A certified cheque can be faked.
  9. I bought one yesterday at Dollarrama. Looks good to carry my rods in on back lake fishing trips.
  10. Will the pellet stove give the same heat as a wood stove? What R value are you insulating your cabin?
  11. My son In law and 3 buddies just returned from their annual trip to Hyatt's huts. They caught lots of small pike and all the walleye were under slot. They did not look too happy with a few perch they brought back. They also said Rob Hyatt is selling his hut business but keeping his chalet.
  12. Going with wife, daughter and two young grand sons. The 4 year old loves fishing and can tell you the name of just about every fish in Ontario.
  13. Check the Grand Canyon Park web site for opening dates and info. April/May should be a better time to go. Lots of other places to see in north Arizona.
  14. Lots to see in Arizona The Grand Canyon is a great place, we drove there in 2011 in August and had a great time. At this time of year the south and north rim parks will be closed for winter until April or May, 5000 ft elevation. South Arizona should be much warmer.
  15. Still using my dad's home made box trailer with 50 year old tires with tubes. Some of you may remember the tire size 6.00 x 16. Probably can't get new tires for it any more. I check the visual condition of the tires and they still hold the air well. I have been thinking of replacing the trailer for years but it still does the job. I don't use it much but when I do take it easy, stay on the right side on the road, have no spare tire.
  16. Merry Christmas to all.
  17. I like to be with outdoors people/friends any time of the year otherwise I enjoy being myself to see nature's display.
  18. Nice sled and lights.
  19. Thanks to everyone's reply. We are thinking about an over night hut. Are there any over night huts on the main lake?
  20. I am thinking about taking my summer fishing buddies on their first ever ice fishing trip to North Bay this winter. I have ice fished in the past on Simcoe but the other 3 have never ice fished. Any hut operator recommendations or location advice would be appreciated, thanks.
  21. Why does your Yammy have a timing belt when a timing chain would last the life of the engine? Like car engines the timing belt is an unnecessary expensive repair when timing chains last the life of the engine.
  22. Sorry for your loss Cliff.
  23. It only has 42K on it and needs battery, brake work, rear wiper motor, fluids replaced.
  24. Finally bought it for $3800 uncertified. Passed Etest but needs $1500 of work to certify.
