  1. Great work! Nice pictures.
  2. The OPP now have Sea-doos. Saw 2 of them in the north end of Couch away from the main boat channel. They now can stop you anywhere.
  3. New plates for everyone? Are they going to peel off like the old ones?
  4. When I was a kid my dad took me to Parry Sound for smelt, there was so many you could barely lift the net out. Later a buddy and I smelted Simcoe near Brechin, we had to work it but usually got a bucket or two. Now both locations have no smelt. What has happened the smelt? Where can you get smelt now?
  5. Yes I believe in snow tires and put them on every winter. I have talked with people who have put on snow tires for the first time on their vehicle for winter and were amazed at the improve traction. AWD and 4 x 4 definitely improves forward traction in winter conditions but does not help braking on snow and ice.
  6. R22 for the walls, what are you putting under the roof?
  7. I looks like you are insulating with Roxul, good stuff. I used the same insulation in my place. Use a mask when installing, dusty.
  8. A neighbour bought a Ram 1500 4x4 with 3.6 v6. He is happy with it and says it is good on gas. That maybe an option. Right now I tow with a mini van which is working ok as long as the launch is not too steep or has poor traction.
  9. Not easy to sign up. Kept going around in circles
  10. Thanks guys, lots to consider. I live in the GTA and a AWD would probably do me now but if I move in the future north up to my "cabin" then a good 4 x 4 is what I need.
  11. Which truck has the best, reliable 4 x 4 and is reasonably good on gas?
  12. After reading Fisherman's article, it looks like AWD is a better choice for all round driving conditions.
  13. What is the difference between AWD and 4x4 vehicles ? Not having one yet but considering getting one I never really understood which better for traction, handling and towing. I tow around 2000 to 3000 lbs. Thanks for your reply.
  14. Nice pictures. Good luck hauling materials. Will your cabin be finished on the inside this year or next? Are you using drywall or wood paneling on the inside walls?
  15. A lot of sickness around, I had it too and finally got the flu shot for the first time. Your cabin looks good! Does the snow side off the roof?
  16. Some people cant handle the extra stress of driving in traffic lose their patience and do stupid things. The risk they take could kill them and other innocent drivers. I see it all the time driving in traffic in the GTA.
  17. There is a lot of pressure on truck drivers, it is not the good job it used to be.
  18. A lot of people do not get snow tires thinking all season tires are good enough. All season tires are not good in winter conditions and I have seen many vehicles loose control. AWD and 4x4 still need snows for braking control. Trucks do not to have snow tires, keep your distance from them on the hwy.
  19. I and wife are retired have 2 vehicles switch to CAA insurance and saved $1100 a year.
  20. A bank draft maybe safer. A certified cheque can be faked.
  21. I bought one yesterday at Dollarrama. Looks good to carry my rods in on back lake fishing trips.
  22. Will the pellet stove give the same heat as a wood stove? What R value are you insulating your cabin?
  23. My son In law and 3 buddies just returned from their annual trip to Hyatt's huts. They caught lots of small pike and all the walleye were under slot. They did not look too happy with a few perch they brought back. They also said Rob Hyatt is selling his hut business but keeping his chalet.
  24. Going with wife, daughter and two young grand sons. The 4 year old loves fishing and can tell you the name of just about every fish in Ontario.
  25. Check the Grand Canyon Park web site for opening dates and info. April/May should be a better time to go. Lots of other places to see in north Arizona.
