  1. Didn't know Zepplin were crappy fisherman, I heard about the shark out of the hotel window though. Goodluck
  2. All good advice here. Welcome to the board. reefrunner
  3. That's disappointing misfish. Always some bad apples, obvious these guys had no regard for the rules. Licsnece plates and a report to the land owner, police next time bud.
  4. Good to see you got yer boat back and she's all right. Thanks for the where's waldo the duck adventure, I'll spend the entire afternoon lookin' for that quack. Nice report, with a build like that, you are a true fish porn star, lol. reefrunner
  5. As spinner baits are a favoutrite lure of mine on my lake, I've had experience with both the costly and the cheap. ANY SPINNER BAIT WILL CATCH FISH. That being said, and as others have mentioned, you get what you pay for. This past summer I was hooked on these spinners a local was making and selling. They cost $4 each and, tipped with a trailer hook, were irresistable to the larger pike. AFter a tussle and release, these spinner baits would be mangled and would either have to be straightened out (which took away from the action) or discarded. I still have 5 or 6 of 'em and figured if I go through 3 it'll cover the cost of 1 premium spinnerbait. I will purchase them again 'cause like Garry2rs said, "I'd rather have a cheap spinnerbaits than no spinnerbaits". Very true. Also true is that the more expensive spinners are more likely to have better helicoptering and slow rolling qualities, however, I would find it premature to dismiss all cheap spinnerbaits as not having any of these qualities. reefrunner
  6. "In other words, right in the heart of some of the world's best fishing! " You got that right...I will head up there one day and have my shot at some LOTW 'ski's...one day
  7. That sucks and I can sense your disillusionment with this year's winter wallop. Now am I correct relaying that there is thirty inches of ice out that way? Wow. Spring is coming my friend, I wouldn't have believed so here in the GTA about a month ago, and it's coming fast.
  8. Congrats on a great outing. Thanks for posting.
  9. I would rig the 6'6" with a snap and use it just for chuckin' and chaging between those rapalas and use your 7"MH rigged for finese...plastics. A great 1 to 2 combo, if you see some followers on the rap but they wont take, drop a sinking worm or twister tail in front of 'em.
  10. Just like solopaddler, I can remember staying up dressed (no waders though..lol) and just waiting all night when I was a kid. Now, when the anticipation sets in, it just helps my get out of bed extra early.
  11. Wow. That is wicked. What an amazing craft to spend time with the family on.
  12. Awsome stuff Paul. Your reports never cease to amaze me. reefrunner
  13. Cool. You know when they'll be airing and on what station?
  14. Very true. Be sure to check the regs for your destination before you head out and determine what species is fair game this weekend. Goodluck, reefrunner
  15. I second the takle bags. I switched a couple year's back. It made it easier with portages and the like. make sure it comes with a shoulder strap. Only down side, this being said for the smaller plano tackle bags however, the trays are not big enough to hold larger musky baits. I know there are larger tackle boxes avaialble which may remedy this point. reefrunner (for the gentleman tha dropped his bag in mud, I assure you the bags are easy to clean)
  16. Good to hear, although I've been enjoying your shore reports.
  17. Thanks for the pics DSN, see any pike cruisin the area?
  18. Very cool. Seen those eggs before but just assumed they were that of a frog, nice pics.
  19. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. may God bless, reefrunner
