  1. That 1940's magazine is funny! I'm married with 2 daughters so comment like that in my house would get me hurt
  2. Awesome report - congrats on the upgrade and fish!

Wow - amazing pics - very nice!
  4. Had a great time there myself, saw a lot of friends and met a lot of new people. Attendance was great and really enjoyed the seminars and talking with all the vendors.
  5. I'll be there - very much looking forward to it. This is the first one I've ever attended and I have heard its a great show.
  6. Very interesting stuff Sterling (for a geek like me anyways). I'm going to look into this extensively and also get some feedback from Roy, Art, T.J., etc. on the idea behind it all. Thank you for the detailed post - Chad
  7. Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome! ketchenany - I have an old iPad myself at home so i will take a look at it for you on that and see if I can duplicate the issue. I won't be able to look into it until late tonight when I get home but I will see what I can find.
  8. Thanks GBW! Just curious is anyone here a member of Muskies Canada? I am a member of the Gananoque chapter. They have a great two day outing every year that I participate in held at the Glenn House. Take care, Chad
  9. Thanks guys - much appreciated! IronMaker - To try and answer your question - I have run into similar issues myself on my other websites. I am no lawyer by any stretch of the imagination but what I have always found is a simple link to the original article keeps you out of trouble more than copying the entire article. I don't see any issues with quoting specific paragaraphs or sentences but copying the entire article to post is frowned upon more than just putting up a link to the article. Along those same lines, I know of people who are "outdoor writers" and websites pay to have their content posted on their websites only. So if someone copies the entire thing and re-posts it somewhere else then they tend to not like that. Some of them don't mind but most of them would prefer a link back to the original article. That has been my experience as I have run into this exact issue a couple times on my other forums. -Chad
  10. Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome Art! My first week on the job and the top post is "Locked Out" haha - at least everyone here has a good sense of humor. As we mentioned before, we don't have any control over the server or hosting itself but I will be happy to look into and help others with any other issues they may have. Thanks again - Chad
  11. Freshwater Dolphins have returned to the Finger Lakes - 240 years after they were last seen! http://www.fingerlakes.com/news/finger-lakes-freshwater-dolphin-returns
  12. That is really cool - I would love to be snow bird for 3 months out of the year when I retire someday.
  13. Just curious how many of you plan on attending this year? This will be my first year attending, I've heard great things. Was wondering what other things there are to do in the area as I will have my wife and two young daughters with me as well. Thanks - Chad
  14. Hi Mistaredone - I had the same issue when I first started out with 65lb test, it would break on me with a backlash. I upgraded to 80-100lb PP and never had an issue since. I had issues with Sufix 832 breaking on me when I tried them (80lb) as well. Later this year BloodRun will be releasing a 100lb musky braid that I will be testing for them.
  15. The comments in that article are hysterical
  16. Haha - great video. Would love to get down south and try that out someday.
  17. Wanted to share a video from my buddy Jim over at the Niagara Musky Association from this year - pretty cool underwater perspective he gets.
  18. Brian - sorry to hear. Our prayers are with you and your family. My wife lost her mother when she was only 9-years old to a rare skin cancer so it touches close to home as I'm sure it does to many others.
  19. Very nice eye'
  20. Also purchased the episode - nice job Pete!
  21. I'm on chrome on the mac and can't get any of the links in sidebar to work. They work fine when I use Firefox.
  22. Got out a couple weeks ago with my daughter in much warmer weather than today up north on the St. Lawrence. I'm an avid musky angler and member of Muskies Canada, Ganaoque Chapter. It was pretty cool getting to fish with both my dad and my daughter on the same trip. Ended up boating a couple nice muskies but my 3-year old daughter stole the show when she landed her first ever musky! I hooked the fish, adjusted drag slightly and handed the rod over to Charlotte. She laid rod flat on gun rail of boat and cranked her trophy in. She got to catch the first ski’ of her life and was soooooo happy! Proud daddy moment there If you look close in the picture, you can see 1.) the diaper I changed on my other daughter 2 casts before catching that musky and 2.) A lamprey that was on the fish. This was the first ever lamprey I've seen on a musky before. A quick picture and Charlotte helped me release the fish. The fish kicked hard away and splashed us both. My daughter now calls all fish larger than a sunfish a "Muskie". We will work more on species identification once she turns 4 years old
  23. That's awesome! Thanks for sharing all those pics. I've been taking my daughters out this year for the first time (ages 3 years old and 1 year old) - it's the best! Family and Fishing.
