  1. Canadian tire had some on clearance , regular around 199, on for 79. give them a call , comes with the hole system i believe. speakers , and deck etc.!
  2. haha thats true, havnt had to experience anything like that.. yet
  3. haha, like if i did anything wrong it would be another story.. but i didnt.. and ya i understand he was fishing .. but he was fishing the boat ramp.. as for my girlfriend. she is defenetly a keeper
  4. so the other day I headed down to the Caeserea launch with the boat. and its my turn to launch .. start backing up.. and this older man(a guess of around 65) starts cursing me.. (he was fishing on the boat ramp and apperently wasnt to happy that i was putting my boat in..) i gave the man more then plenty of enough time to reel in and he starts cursing me some more.. i just thought to myself.. "are you serious" as i get closer to the water my gf jumps out to guide me down , and tell me when the boats afloat. start backing up and the man say no no no ur doing it all wrong.. im like hmmm.. ok ? sure im 19 yrs old, and maybe he has more experince then myself.. BUT the trailers straight , the boats almost off.. like what could i be doing wrong ? so i proceed. but concider what hes telling me.. at this time there telling me to keep backing up.. my girlfriend tells me to stop. as the back tires in. the man then reassures me that i have to come back about 2 more feet. and the boat will be right off.. me thinking that the truck sits low enough (its a 5 speed 94 chev s-10) il back up 1 foot and push the boat off..next thing i know my gf yells the mufflers under the water so i stop.. push the boat off and drive forward. so now the boats off the trailer my gf walks the boat over to the dock (with the help of this older gentlemen) though she didnt need it.. so i go park, come back to the boat, at this time the man says "well i sure hope your boat runs better then your truck, or atleast you know how to drive it" i said calmly yes the boat runs great and yup iv been driving a boat for as long as i can remember (wich is tru growing up, up north on a lake.. used the boats 24/7) so i jump in the boat with my gf, start the boat and pull away.. just my luck.. stalls :| ! and the man starts laughing.. made me a little annoyed as i had the boat out the past two days and had zero problems.. so i fire it right back up and take off.. and a few minutes later my girlfriend tells me that the man actually said that "he hates us impatient teens, and its to bad i hadnt backed up further".. but she didnt want to tell me as she figgured i would of started sumthing ! in my oppinion, he was the one who started somthing!.. Ugh !!! i personaly hate rude people ! and ok teenagers can be rude and such .. but still ! stop judging ! but once we got out on the water caught some fish (mainly panfish) which lightend my mood, but still ! what an ! like how rude can you get ? like wow im sorry i took up 2 minutes of your fishing time (on that one part of the boat ramp.. he could of easily fished the other side.. or further down ?!?! honestly i just hope hes does not always act this way. as he would really be a pain to be around ! but hey we headed back in in a few hours later, no sign of the man, grabed the truck , loaded the boat and as we pulled out two younger guys (who were asian) came up to me asking if i could boost there car, so i said ya sure, boosted the car, but right befor i left i asked how long they have been here, they said about 2 hours, and i figgured that if i was out in the boat for maybel 3 hours.. i figgured id ask if they had seen this older man , they said yes and he had left about 15mins after they arrived, and he was mumbling sumthing under his breath ! wow, wonder who in his corn flakes ! this man must of had a bad day, or hes just a pain.. but hey just thought i'd get that off my chest, thanks again a fellow angler
  5. i heard i can swap carbs from my 9.9 evinrude (believe its a 88) and replace it with a 15. but how good can that be for my motor?
  6. Great report mike !
  7. Good to hear, i was a to busy to get out yesterday, my dad was in the hospital, from 3pm-3 am :| but thankfully hes ok !
  8. How did every one do ?
  9. agreed with rodwrap, test it out for yourself.. i use both.. mainly split for pitchin and flippin.. but really its all personaly preference
  10. yeah the river was much more sheltered, i run a 14' tin with a 9.9 and trolling motor etc.. it does the job but I'd hate to have it out in the "hurricane water" haha as well there is 1 decent launch good for "beach launching you boat" that has very little traffic along the river.. tho there is no dock..but there is places to park.. and then there is also an even smaller launch perfect for canoes and small john boats.. which is even less busy ! (im sure there is more then just thees two launches.. tho with a canoe you can launch pretty well anywhere!
  11. a few of my buddies are taking the course at Sir sandford flemming in lindsay .. and they seem to be liking it so far
  12. I personaly like the musky buck's in either black or red any where from $12-15 each, as well as Boo Yah Boogie baits ($7) work awesome for musky .. caught more musky on them then anything else.. anything around like that tend to do well for me .. tho like the other guys said make sure you have the rights tools for the job. saves you alot of money in the end!
  13. good report how was the lake it self? a friend and i were going to give it a try but ended up heading to the Nonquon.. (right across from where you were pretty much) and the rock bass were on fire haha we had tons of fun catching them on almost anything. (untill 1 little musky came along and snapped me off.. after that we tried a few more spots.. and the rock bass continued. as well we caugh a crappie and a walleye around 1lb
  14. I usually use either one.. fluro or braid.. lately I just 12lb fluro on my baitcast .. works wonders
  15. was wondering the same thing, just picked up a sante fe, and need to get a hitch to trailer my little boat and such around.. though i live in Durham / Scugog area..
  16. rod setups, tackle, gulp alive, extra line, a back up baitcast reel, baseball cap, cap light , flash light, hot pads (in case it gets chilly) , polorized sunglasses , knife , pliers , lighter , camera , water/munchies , ZIPLOCK bags for sure! , if its befor mid june or in fall i'll keep a pair of snow pants on board the boat as well as gloves. extra pair of socks, bug spray/sun screen, a pair of crocks / sandals + shoes depending on weather, if im in the boat, lots of rope + caribiniers , anchor, gas , pfd's , fish scale (scale+camera = gets rid of all those "fish stories") other then that a few drinks , a good friend or the girlfriend all in all hopefully a good time!
  17. Hmm tough call.. depends on the day .. and the mood I am in.. but if i was to go right now i would take theese.. [1] Big'O /or/ Bomber shallow dive crankbait / wake bait (perch or firetiger) [2] rapala subwalk (ghost) [3] 4-5'' plastic craw (copper / red) [4] gulp alive 3'' twirl tail minnow (white/on a beetle spin) [5] cotton cordell 3-4 walleye diver (fire tiger / perch)
  18. good luck, possibly see ya out there ! fishing around goreskies is normaly a good time !
  19. "LUCKY" haha congrats to a fellow angler
  20. Hey MSB, honestly i was thinkin the same thing .. i have a 14' aluminum V, and wasnt sure how stable it would be.. but figgured i'd give it a shot.. first of all i would suggest that you do a "tip test" stand on ur original seats (aprox where ur deck will be..) and see how stable it is.. if you find it good enough then go for it ! personally i skipped that step and just went for it as i normaly stand on the seats anyways.. my boat now has a 7' casting deck , pedestal seat , in floor storage.. and a bow mount trolling motor.. couldnt be happier.. tho it does sit lower in the water now. so if your out in big water wave can get at you easier now.. other then that i love it.. and its quite stable ! as for john boats , and flat bottoms (depending on size) I would mainly use them for rivers, small lakes, and traveling, other then that i find they can be a little hairy.. but at the same time if you use them right they can be awesome.. it all depends on what your looking to get out of a boat kinda thing .. and where you will be fishing .. -little lakes, rivers, bogs etc.. john / flat bottom (or a SMALL V) -small to big lakes, deeper rivers. and anywhere with wind and waves i'd stick to a V thats just my view tho .. im sure theres many other preferences.. aswell as glass.. or aluminum .. etc. -A fellow angler
  21. me and my buddy went out last night more towards the Nonquon River off of scugog .. started off using bucktails but got fed up with all the weeds. then switched over to crankbaits.. which led me to catch TONS of rock bass! but gave up that spot.. started heading up the river 3/4 throttle on the 9.9 / 14' tin... with all lines out of the water.. the next thing we see is a big splash and a 2 foot musky hanging off the end of my crankbait rod that must of been hanging over the side of the boat..oh boy that could of turned out bad and wrecked my day..! lol we ended up getting the lunge in the boat and releasing it asap. all in all we fished from 6 till just after 9 and we caught everything from a few largies, rock bass, 2 crappie, a musky and only caught 1 walleye just over a pound.. all caught on crank baits and gulp minnows etc.. in the end it turned out to be a fun time on the water.. we were off the main body and up in the river.. there for the winds gave us no problems. though it did get chilly and we ended up pulling out the survival suits.
