  9. As told to me by a good friend, and Newfie A mainlander while at the docks asked a Newfie why the port holes on a ship were round.... The Newfie stares in disbelief that he is being asked this question....after a short pause he replies..... Don't be silly lad.....it's so da water don't hit ya square in da face.....

  12. I thought it was only during transporting fish that you had to have a patch of skin on them??? You couldn't have told them they were for supper that night?? That sound a bit much to get a ticket for that...I'd have some choice words for them that's for sure.....
  13. Well that settles it then ...the leafs are going to win the cup again this year....
  14. Boy ...I walked right into that one eh!
  15. Nothing wrong with holding the smaller fish vertical as they don't have the weight to cause damage from the vertical hold. Once they have weight and mass a vertical hold puts too much stress on the jaw and can damage/break it. The vertical hold can also cause the guts to slip to the bottom of the fish causing internal damage..the guts are basically weightless in the water, once out of water and held vertical the gravity on them is too much for them to stay in place. That being said an improper horizontal hold can be just as bad. If held by the head and extreame end of the tail the back can arch and cause damage. The hold imo that makes most sense is a gill plate hold with one hand with the back hand either at the back fins or on a bigger fish a cradle hold..but then slime can be removed....sometimes you just can't win Bottom line is too just try to do the best you can.Limit the time out of water and revive em before letting go of them.
  16. $40 might not get you too far with muskie lures. If you are worried about break offs you might want to make sure your equipment is up to par. Power pro braided line 80 lb on a reel will definitly lessen the likelyhood of a break off. Good leaders(muskie) will also save you from harming the fish or losing valuable tackle. I throw spinnerbaits 80% of th time when casting, have caught lots of fish on them (up to 30lbs+-) and have never lost one That being said, I have spent thousands of hrs on the rideau and the Rideau muskies like their soft plastic but I would def. toss spinnerbaits and work the weed edges at the right time of day with a topraider, hope this helps
  17. That's what it's all about.....very nice
  18. I am doing some boat mods and have several pcs of bare aluminum that I am goint to need painting. All the info I get off the internet have a five stage chemical process to paint it....My question is.. Does anyone have any experience with painting aluminum???....Maybe a paint product that they know of that can eliminate this process. I have had aluminum anodized for work in the recent past but it's $$$$ and would like to avoid it if possible. Thanks
  19. Someday folks will talk about the legend of Moosebunk...............10' tall, hands as big as garbage can lids, one stroke of the paddle he would travel a mile...catch 10 fish with every cast. Truly you are a master angler...incredible report.
  20. Great report.....Trophy pike!! Congrats

  24. Actually I meant catch and keep... I think this would be devastating to the fish populations and to the fishing takle industry. What about the folks who love to fish but don't eat it, they would be forced to stop fishing? What about the consumption guide, if you catch a 40 lb muskie would you have to eat it? The whole idea of this is so ridiculous , it would cost millions to enforce and would have to have special conditions galore. It may work in Europe but IMO wouldn't work here
