rod holder for trolling? recommendations
Musky Plug replied to Tjames09's topic in General Discussion
I use Scotty brand orca rod holders. I've used them for two seasons musky fishing and for lakers with no issues. If you're looking to invest in some good ones Trojan tackle I believe it's called makes some good stuff from what I hear. -
Lmao I've never used that brand of flouro. I use either seaguar and recently been trying sunline both I would say are good.

It was a good show, big turn out. Arrived at 8:30 and the Wick Onez booth was sold out. I was thankfully able to get one of the few remaining hose shads. Also picked up a Blue Water Bait from Lidio and a new Trofik 5 bait. Both guys make some great stuff.

I've stayed at Wolseley Lodge once before in the fall, but it was to fish bass/walleye. So I can't help you with any musky info. When we stayed there the owner of the lodge gave us a map and explained the area and which places to steer clear of and where to be careful. Also showed us some spots. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the board! My gf is the same way, whatever new stuff I buy she thinks automatically becomes hers' as well lol. I'm slowly convincing her to start her own collection.

Lol! Not my first choice, but I thought it was a good show.

Don't know if anyone here is familiar with this series, but it worth a watch imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACwVLuaExOE

The girlfriend and I will be attending as well.

This is the just of what someone posted on Facebook. I thought it was interesting " Under a legal doctrine in use in Massachusetts called abatement ab initio, if someone dies after a conviction but before the completion of their appeal, the person's legal records in that matter are wiped clean. " "Also, Hernandez being considered innocent potentially opens up a number of legal avenues for his estate and family. For example, with a "creative lawyer," the family could file litigation against the Patriots and the NFL for voiding Hernandez' contract after his indictment. "

A buddy of mine is trying to convince me to head up to Percy's Reach with him for walleye opener. He seems pretty dead set on this place. I've never fished it before and a google search brought up some old threads from here with mixed reviews, but none were that recent. Does anyone have any expeirence fishing here? Or should I suggest going to another place? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My younger brother who is 20 now had a similar injury just under two years ago while we were playing soccer. Tore part of his quad as well as partially tearing his ACL and fully tearing his meniscus. He opted for the surgery right away to repair what could be repaired. He had the surgery done for his partially torn quad and ACL. Unfortunately they couldn't repair the meniscus. It was a bit of a recovery and physio but he's back to normal, gym, sports and being a .

X2 As a small business owner myself I have crossed this path a couple times. As sometimes I will send my brother who I work with because I can not be there, and they will call asking if I will be in today as they aren't firmiliar with him and his skill set. I assure them that he's fully capable of doing he job or he wouldn't be there. So as stated before call the guide service and ask question about "Bob" and if you still don't feel comfortable then cancel. Congrats on the boat!

All of that stuff sounds like a load as far as I'm concerned. Passed a CT on the way to work in Hamilton was 1.21

Is that a joke?..

Can't offer any advice for fishing that area, however welcome aboard and good luck!

Went to Bps today and decided to buy the tourney special rain suit instead of the 100mph. Not as high quality as the 100mph stuff but it was much cheaper. The jacket and bib came out to just under 300 and with the gc's made it a little cheaper. Looking forward to trying them out in a couple weeks. I appreciate all the feedback from everyone.

I was unaware there was different grades of gortex. I watched a video on YouTube saying that if your gear starts leaking water you can wash it then put it in the dryer and it reactivates the dwr. Or must if be treated with the dwr spray or wash in stuff first then dried in the dryer?

Hoping to get out to bass pro today a try on some of the suits. On a side not bills bait and tackle in Hamilton is having their spring sale this weekend, worth a look!
-
I'm interested lol. Is the gear wind proof as well as waterproof? What would be a comparable set to the Bps 100mph stuff? I'm looking for a set for myself and the girlfriend.
-
Maybe I shouldn't be complaining lol. Yes that's how i found out about them, watching WFN channel. I think that's what it's come down too. Going to both stores and trying each product out for myself and see which one is better for me.
-
That seems to be the consensus, however the closest cabelas is around 2hours away from me and I would prefer to try the suit and before I spend that much money on it. What about HUK gear, does anyone have any experience with this brand?
-
. Aren't the bibs breathable like the jackets?
-
I saw that the cabelas guide wear is actually on sale now, about $50 off however I have a $100 gift card for bps which makes me lean more towards that but I'm still on the fence. And yes it sucks being cold and frozen happened to me last year and hoping not again this year lol. Yes I have been told by more than a couple people that they're the best, sadly though it's out of my budget.
