  1. Went to Bps today and decided to buy the tourney special rain suit instead of the 100mph. Not as high quality as the 100mph stuff but it was much cheaper. The jacket and bib came out to just under 300 and with the gc's made it a little cheaper. Looking forward to trying them out in a couple weeks. I appreciate all the feedback from everyone.
  2. I was unaware there was different grades of gortex. I watched a video on YouTube saying that if your gear starts leaking water you can wash it then put it in the dryer and it reactivates the dwr. Or must if be treated with the dwr spray or wash in stuff first then dried in the dryer?
  3. Hoping to get out to bass pro today a try on some of the suits. On a side not bills bait and tackle in Hamilton is having their spring sale this weekend, worth a look!
  4. I'm interested lol. Is the gear wind proof as well as waterproof? What would be a comparable set to the Bps 100mph stuff? I'm looking for a set for myself and the girlfriend.
  5. Maybe I shouldn't be complaining lol. Yes that's how i found out about them, watching WFN channel. I think that's what it's come down too. Going to both stores and trying each product out for myself and see which one is better for me.
  6. That seems to be the consensus, however the closest cabelas is around 2hours away from me and I would prefer to try the suit and before I spend that much money on it. What about HUK gear, does anyone have any experience with this brand?
  7. . Aren't the bibs breathable like the jackets?
  8. I saw that the cabelas guide wear is actually on sale now, about $50 off however I have a $100 gift card for bps which makes me lean more towards that but I'm still on the fence. And yes it sucks being cold and frozen happened to me last year and hoping not again this year lol. Yes I have been told by more than a couple people that they're the best, sadly though it's out of my budget.
  9. would I be able to wear the Bps and Cabelas suit in both summer and winter, with appropriate layers underneath?
  10. I was also looking at the F3 suit, has anyone had any experience with these suits?
  11. I will do that. Leaning more towards bps and cabelas, Simms is a little out of the budget unfortunately lol. Well I was thinking about getting one for may for walleye opener. I did the sale on the cabelas site, and almost purchased it. But I figured I would ask for people's opinions that have been there done that. I would be disappointed if I spent the money and wasn't happy with the product. I will have to look this brand, thanks.
  12. Hey all, So I've been looking at purchasing new rain gear for this year. Was thinking about either Bps 100mph rain suit or the Cabela's guide series rain gear. The prices for these are around $600 for the complete suit but I'm willing to pay the extra money if it keeps my dry and will last. I don't want to have to keep spending money on new rain gear. Does anyone have any experience with either of these brands of rain gear or any other brands that are any good?
  13. I will also be going this year. If there's any custom baits in particular you want I would suggest going early.
  14. I also went there hoping to get some sort of deal on some new rods but I couldn't find any. Ended up buying musky baits that I can't get at my local tackle stores.
  15. Yes you are correct, my mistake. Was looking at the wrong pics.
  16. The season opener for the kawarthas is the 2nd Saturday in may. Last year from what I can remember it was fairly warm? Not sure about water temps however. Was looking at some pics from my trip from opener last year and I was in shorts and tee.
  17. Pretty sure there is a sign on the 407 that says out of province plates will be billed however not sure how it would work for people from the U.S. The cost is just under $30. I take it home everyday from work. But like stated before if your leaving early you would be fine taking Qew to 427.
  18. I also found a pre-fab live well on the cabbalas site unfortunately it won't work for my boat. Yes, that's kinda the same idea I'm looking for. Just a drop in. Do you have a pump and aerator as well? Ya i understand and no tournaments in the forseeable future, but not ruling it out. I currently use stringers now, but looking for an upgrade because I'm probably going to have this boat for a while.
  19. Hey guys, As a spring project I'd like to potentially put a live well in my boat. I have heard/read good things and bad about putting one in and removing some of the flotation foam. I have thought about getting one of the cooler live wells but it would take up to much room in the boat. Just looking for some more input on the subject or if anyone has any experience doing this. I have an aluminum 16' Crestliner Sportsman, with three benches. I would like to put it in the bench in front of the driver seat. The length of the bench where the live well would sit is roughly 60" however the live well itself would be about 36". I can post pics of the boat and what my idea is if they would be any help. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I agree with you on the solid deal. If it were me I would buy it. It is a good navigation tool to have when fishing new water or even familiar lakes for that matter. Bills bait would more than likely sell them, if not fishing world does for sure.
  21. Not really worth it in my option. I wasted $5 on it lol. I thought it was going to be more than it was. If you're looking for lakes with specific species then maybe, however a quick google search would tell you the same info. Just my .2.
  22. Looks like some good eats right there!
  23. That's a good deal. If you troll, you'll like the si option it helps locating school of bait. You got a good bank for your buck in my opinion. Was the navionics card included with that price?
  24. Belle River Yaht Club is a nice place. Been there a couple times. Right on the river with a launch and parking. About a half hour drive to Windsor if you're looking for a place to party.
  25. I too have had bad experiences with bell in regards with the billing. They only offer you incentives to sign up and once the incentive program runs out they hit you with all these charges they neglect to tell you about in the beginning. They raised my rateswithout even notifying me. Even with phone/internet/tv package I still pay around the 250, which is more then I payed when I was with them when I had a satellite. Switch to fibe they told me will be cheaper, cheaper my but. And when you call customer service they give you the same song and dance over and over. In the process now ironing things out with cogeco to get a better monthly rate. Was speaking with someone at work last week about this and he says he just switches between companies when his incentives run out. Sorry about the rant, just thinking about speaking to their customer service fires me up.
