16foot legend. Max is 75hp. Not interested in changing motors though, be just as easy to sell and buy a new boat lol.

I’ve noticed with more than 2 people in the boat the holeshot is very sluggish and getting on plane with more than 2 is slow. I get 5500 top rpm, and thinking I should be able to get more rpm closer to the 6000max of the motor (60hp merc). Boat also struggles to get past 29mph with two people, thinking it should be about 36mph. boat has a 14 pitch prop stainless.

That’s what I was saying above. Most of the fishing regulations come from the fisheries act not the FWCA

The laws for fishing are actually under the Fisheries Act and the regulation under that act called The Ontario Fisheries Regulations. Fish and Wildlife Act is more for hunting and just fishing licenses. The Ontario Fisheries Regulations is where you find over limit, OOS, sanctuaries, etc.

Did you install quick release for the charger cables? Or do you just reinstall them every time? I was was thinking of just leaving the charger out but kind of defeats the purpose.

Well I attempted to instal this today but I was way in over my head. I only managed to arrange the batteries and instal the plug lol. I can’t find a spot for the charger it’s so big.

I bought two 2500 Saharas last year. I really like them. Ive never one really high end spinning reels to compare it too though. But these were middle of the road pricing and the feel very nice.

There’s a slight learning curve to it but it’s not rocket science. Once you get the feel it’s easy. Just needs to be set properly is the main thing. Lots of good reels for $100 at basspro.

Thanks guys. Any recommendations when bolting all these things inside the hull so I don’t cause leaks? Lots of things need to be bolted in: battery boxes, breaker, charger.

the batteries are at the front of the boat, under the first hatch. I don't know what gauge wire is there or how to tell? This is the first I've heard of needing a breaker though. im not sure I really want to install it myself. Would prefer a place did it. Any recommendations for marinas or shops in the Kawartha Peterborough area.

Thanks guys, I did end up with the terrova 80lbs. I was under the impression the connection where the trolling motor plugs into the boat would need changing from 12v to 24v? unless its the same wiring and same plug? My bow has a plug for the trolling motor, which then goes underneath the bow where the batteries are stored. Should add I bought the MKA 21 mount. It seems like there’s three different mounts you could use. 16, 21, or 32. From cheapest to expensive. BPS only had the 21.

Ya I think the fine is per fish actually. Its a set fine, then every fish over the limit increases the fine. But its not arbitrary, its set by the provinces act. So its not whatever the justice feels is appropriate fine that day.

replacing my trolling motor this year from a motor guide 55lb to minn Kota 80lb. not sure if I should be going with 54 or 60" length. Boats a legend excalibur 16ft. Edit: haha never mind, you cant buy a 54" 80lb thrust. Mod you can delete this.

I saw a boat in the scugog river last week..............Not sure what they were doing, river is sanctuary until mid May.

It does seem like an odd maintenance . And messing with battery acid lol. Not to mention no where on the batteries does it say to check the levels i think I’ll leave it

I think he was asking specifically if Lake Simcoe was frozen or if it was open water. I think he wanted to take his dad ice fishing. Thats how I read it
